Trader Posted June 12, 2013 Share #1 Posted June 12, 2013 I was looking around the Yamaha site....I saw this and it is identical to what I have bought on ebay.....here's both links for comparison http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/accessories/acscitemdetail/5/4/83/1429/all/1/11528/0/detail.aspx http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0&_nkw=Bike+Bicycle+Phone+Mount+Holder+For+LG+Optimus+4X+HD+P880+P500+P970+P990+P925&_sacat=0&_from=R40 Exactly the same from what I can see. KeithR Posted June 12, 2013 Share #2 Posted June 12, 2013 I have always found that Yamaha Canada is approx 40% higher than US pricing. Their excuse....we are a smaller market so they have to charge more? I would say that's just another example of the Cdn Yamaha pricing. bongobobny Posted June 12, 2013 Share #3 Posted June 12, 2013 Well, the Fleabay one isn't an official Yamaha ® product...
djh3 Posted June 13, 2013 Share #4 Posted June 13, 2013 Ok how funny. I just bought one of these for my scoot for the cell phone. Got off e-bay pretty decent piece. http://thmb.inkfrog.com/thumbn/clickgolds/nEO_IMG_1_137.jpg=450&gap=
stanG Posted June 14, 2013 Share #5 Posted June 14, 2013 It will cost you a couple more bucks but if you want to go with a high quality versatile system check out the X-Grip mounts from RAM. I have have been using one of these for my phone and hand held GPS. http://www.rammount.com/Products/XGriptradeMounts/tabid/4687/Default.aspx
Trader Posted June 14, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted June 14, 2013 I know the one I posted from ebay is pretty cheap. I use elastic bands to hold my phone in place cause there is no way I'd trust the clamps to hold it!
djh3 Posted June 14, 2013 Share #7 Posted June 14, 2013 I used mine the other day on an excursion of around 100 miles. Held phone tight. Although I am thinking of a secondary system to secure on my long trips. I was thinking velcro strips I have to secure the cables/wires for the extra devices. but now you mention it I think the ole rubber band may be the best route. Thanks for the idea. I think I could actually move it around so the camera shoots thru the windshield and take pics going down the road if I wanted to.
AKRefugee Posted June 14, 2013 Share #8 Posted June 14, 2013 I use a cord with a push button device like you would find on a sleeping bag. Used a rubber band for a while but this works better, last longer and looks better.
