Mike G in SC Posted January 6, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 6, 2013 Do you have leather cover/tassles on the levers. I was having problems. Swore it couldn't be the tassles (catching wind). Changed out the clutch lever and the little brass barrel on the cable. Thinking I may need to change out vacuum hoses. So any help you can offer will help me for sure. Freebird Posted January 6, 2013 Share #5 Posted January 6, 2013 Do you notice your bike losing speed before it happens? The cruise will cut out if the MPH drops a certain amount from the set point. I don't remember right off hand what that point is. If that is the case, the cruise may not be the problem. You may need to determine why the bike is losing speed on the hills more than it has in the past. Maybe you've lost a cylinder due to a bad coil or something? All you need to do is take up the slop in the lever with the small adjustment screw at the lever pivot point. When there's slop it allows enough lever movement to kick out the cruise.
