frankd Posted July 28, 2012 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2012 This is a question to those that change their own tires. How do you recycle the used tires? What I have been doing is to wait until my son has a car headed for the junk yard, and just put it in the trunk. Trouble is, he hasn't had a car to junk lately. Frank D. V7Goose Posted July 28, 2012 Share #2 Posted July 28, 2012 Local tire shops will often take them. For me, I used to take them to a recycle center, but then I found that Pep Boys welcomes anyone to bring a reasonable numbers of tires in to add to their recycle pile. I surprised them once when I bought in enough to fill the entire bed of my pickup, but they still took them. Now I take 'em in before the numbers get that high! frankd Posted August 1, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted August 1, 2012 Thanks Kent, I'll take them to Pep Boys. I've only got 2, not a truck full. Frank
CaptainJoe Posted August 1, 2012 Share #4 Posted August 1, 2012 Bought a farm in March and discovered about 100 tires in various places. I gathered them up and stuck in a stall in the barn till i can find a place that takes them. :bang head:Tire shops want $5 .

CaptainJoe Posted August 1, 2012 Share #6 Posted August 1, 2012 Not that i know of... You'd think they could grind them up and pit in our roads, playgrounds or around trees like they do in florida...
