I took the whole thing(the entire cassette housing from inside the fairing) out and cleaned and lubricated the mechanism. Originally I thought I was missing the spring on one side but seem to have decided it only has 1 spring, on the left side IIRC. starrider60 Posted July 16, 2012 Share #3 Posted July 16, 2012 HAD THE SAME ISSUE. POSTED MY PROBLEM AND GOT AN IMMEDIATE REPLY. TOLD ME TO SPRAY SOME LUBRICANT ON EACH SIDE. IT WORKED. Whenever I would close the door it would stay closed for about 10 seconds and then would slowy open, no matter how you tried to close it. I gave up and lived with the open door. Any way, FYI thanks to all as ALLWAYS WD-40 if Moves or Tape if Doesn't makes the miracle.... It is close now. And I can open it. IMHO with the speedometer looking as a the ones of the 50's car, why not...
