Clossing the cassete door

By "cannot close" assume you mean it won't stay closed?

Mine did that when I bought my RSV from the PO. I took the whole thing(the entire cassette housing from inside the fairing) out and cleaned and lubricated the mechanism.

Originally I thought I was missing the spring on one side but seem to have decided it only has 1 spring, on the left side IIRC. Try some wd-40 in and around where the spring lives and see if that helps.

sp!ke

Did somebody had the problem I have right now.

I cannot close the cover of the cassette receptacle.

Any suggestions?

I had the same problem. Whenever I would close the door it would stay closed for about 10 seconds and then would slowy open, no matter how you tried to close it. I gave up and lived with the open door. That bothered me when it rained. Weeks later i tried to close it again and it stayed closed.... I don't know why.

Rain watter. I'm sure it rust the spring and now it don't move any more....

Any way, FYI thanks to all as ALLWAYS WD-40 if Moves or Tape if Doesn't makes the miracle....

It is close now. And I can open it.

Yes,

Some people remove that and put tachs, amp and oil pressure gauges on it.

IMHO with the speedometer looking as a the ones of the 50's car, why not...

At least the auxiliary input is there, and more usefull than the cassettes...
