How to light turn signals?

When my bike was imported new to the Uk, the turn signals had to be changed so they only flash when turning & then are off. But I know from your bikes & my previous 'Wing, yours are on all the time. Do any of you know how this is done? Is it by the wiring, if so where would it be, or by a special bulb or something. Greatful for all your knowledgeable help.

Our bulbs are dual filament, but the wiring is also set up to have one filament on at all times, the other is tied to the flasher circuit (front lights). I don't know what they do to make yours turn signals only. One way to check would be to see if you have three wires coming into the front flasher area. If you do, check (with key on) between the ground and the two connectors at the bottom. On one of the connectors you should read 12 VDC with the key on if the lighting circuit is still set up like the US version.

If I understand you correctly, you want to prevent the turn signals being lit up when the key is on, but to flash for the turn signals. Simple, just take out the turn signal lenses and cut (and tape) the blue wire going to the turn signal lamps. This will also eliminate the front parking lights (P on our ignition switches), but nobody uses those here.

Well, then what Grey Ghost says is 100% true. Open one of your turn signals and see if they are double filament bulbs. If not, you'll have to replace the turn signals themselves or replace just the lamp sockets, and then install double filament lamps. On a 1st Gen, the blue wire is hot when the key is on, and I'd bet that it's the same on a 2nd gen. On ours, the dimmer filament is for the always on parking lamps, and the brighter one is for the turn signals.

I just did some research in the 2nd gen manuals....Yes, the 2nd gen uses the same blue wire that the 1st gens do. It's the same wire that goes to you tailight and also your dash board ilumination lights, so it should be easy to find. THe lamps you need are 12V 27/8W.

I had a look at the bulbs the front are double filament, the rear are single. So are your turn signals on all the time on the FRONT only, whilst the REAR only flash when you turn & then are off? If that's the case, I can look for the wiring as I obviously have the right bulbs. Thanks for all the help so far.
