Carb Tuning my 89 VR

Why is it that the right 2 cylinders on the carb tune fluxuates about 2 to 3 horizontal indicators while the left two stays almost dead still.

I can adjust the left two to each other or away from each other. I can adjust the left and right banks to each other. When I rev the engine all 4 banks response then return to its adjusted level.

Is everything ok or it that an indication of something else needing repair?

The 1st thing I would do is reverse the hoses around on the meter if it has four separate hoses. The reason for this is there may be some type of restrictor that helps with the pulses to smooth them out. See if the pulses stays with the meter or stays with the carbs.

My 1st inclination if you have a lot of pulsing is an intake valve leak that is spitting back a little. Or as already mentioned, some type of vacuum leak. You can spray some starter fluid around the base of the carbs and intake manifolds and see if it makes a difference. If you do have a vacuum leak, you will need to fix that before you will ever get a proper carb sync.
