One of a different kind...the escorting of the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall. I have never had the opportunity to see it, and to participate of the escorting of it is truly an honor. According to the internet site, the Wall will be at Lackland AFB thru Friday...I really cannot understand why it will not be at the Gateway to the Air Force over the weekend, but, I guess it is what it is.

You won't regret doing the Wall Escort. It will move you to tears once you see it set up....especially at night with the lights in place. Ride safe.

Boomer....with respect for our fallen Brothers.

As usual, Boomer, you are right on...the gentleman and his wife who drive the truck opened it up so we could see at least some of it before we left for the escort...I can't wait to go back out (going Wednesday) with Belinda to see it all set up. If it is anything like the wall in D.C., I know I will have a severely large lump in my throat, and my eyes will be (as the Grinch said) leaking!

Whether it be the traveling wall or the actual monument in DC, a visit should be on everyone's bucket list. Particularly those who did not have the opportunity (for whatever reason) to take part in the SE Asia War Games......

Right on Black Owl...I am so glad to see the veterans of that era finally gaining respect. While I personally don't give a damn what most people think, I see that many people are coming around. Thank God that our troops today do enjoy the respect they receive!:thumbsup2:

If you ever get the chance to attend a Gathering of the Guard, the annual PGR rally, and if they have the traveling wall there they do a salute for each rider that wants to. You are allowed to ride your motorcycle right up to the wall and salute it. It is rather moving.

I’ve had the opportunity to visit the one in DC several times and it still is more humbling than I can ever explain.
