jtfromnc Posted January 25, 2012 Share #1 Posted January 25, 2012 I have a 1984 Venture with the 1200cc engine on it (locked up), will a 1985 1300cc mount up to my 1984 frame and swing drive arm? dingy Posted January 25, 2012 Share #3 Posted January 25, 2012 An 85 is a 1200, not a 1300. 86 was first year for 1300. Otherwise there are no wiring changes, TCI is the same. It should be a straight swap. What pictures do you need, I have a 1000 pictures (at least) of an 83 converted to a 1300 from an 88. Gary Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
GaryZ Posted January 25, 2012 Share #4 Posted January 25, 2012 The 1986 1300 engine was a direct swap for the 1200 in my 1985. The only modification would be to the carbs, if you reuse them from the 1200. A spacer on the needles and 2.5 turns out on the low-speed circuit is good.
