royalstarjac Posted September 1, 2011 Share #1 Posted September 1, 2011 http://www.polarisindustries.com/en-us/victory-motorcycles/touring/cross-country-tour/pages/features.aspx It looks like Victory has hit a home run on this one IMO. What do yall think?
Sylvester Posted September 1, 2011 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2011 Looks good to me. Is that a new one for 2012 or is it a 2011?
Freebird Posted September 1, 2011 Share #3 Posted September 1, 2011 They had it in 2011 and maybe even 2010 but the 2012 added some nice features. Trunk was optional before, standard now. Front lowers were not available until this new 2012 model. I sat on one at a customers place a few weeks ago and it really felt good. I would consider one if I were still in the market. I wish it were water cooled and shaft drive though. It is air cooled and belt drive. Yea, I know, it is OIL cooled but that is STILL basically air cooled. royalstarjac Posted September 1, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted September 1, 2011 It also come standard with ABS, heated grips and seats. No cassette player though:whistling:.
Condor Posted September 1, 2011 Share #5 Posted September 1, 2011 Looks nice.... Does it have FI?? Wasn't there something about needing FI and being water cooled to meet EPA smog requirements on anything new???
royalstarjac Posted September 1, 2011 Author Share #6 Posted September 1, 2011 Yes, it's fuel injected.
Freebird Posted September 1, 2011 Share #7 Posted September 1, 2011 That rumor about having to be fuel injected and water cooled repeats itself every year. For the past 3 or 4 years here it has been stated the the Venture would be discontinued that specific year because it was not fuel injected. It doesn't matter if they are fuel injected or not as long as the meet the EPA requirements on pollutants. As for water cooling, the 2012 Harleys are also out and they are not water cooled either. I think that the water cooling thing has always just been a rumor. I do think that eventually carbs will be a thing of the past though. I have real doubts that there will be a 2012 RSV but I don't really attribute it to the fuel injection issue.

hunter 1500 Posted September 1, 2011 Share #11 Posted September 1, 2011 I rode that model at Americade with the tall windshield and tour pack. I loved it. The ergos on the bike are great. Victory seems to listen to their customers and make improvements accordingly. It will no doubt be my next bike.
SC89Venture Posted September 1, 2011 Share #12 Posted September 1, 2011 Just my opinion that is one butt ugly bike. Again, just my opinion.
rumboogy Posted September 1, 2011 Share #13 Posted September 1, 2011 Nothing was said about the audio package... Any info on that?
Freebird Posted September 1, 2011 Share #14 Posted September 1, 2011 I think that it comes with audio but cb/intercom is about a thousand dollar option.
etcswjoe Posted September 1, 2011 Share #15 Posted September 1, 2011 I think that it comes with audio but cb/intercom is about a thousand dollar option. They had a Demo one at American Biker and I Liked it except, it's not pretty to look at, CB not standard, very clunky, not a bad price however. I still think I will keep my RSV's for awhile longer. Condor Posted September 1, 2011 Share #16 Posted September 1, 2011 That rumor about having to be fuel injected and water cooled repeats itself every year. Yeah, but like all things posted on the web they have everlasting life.....
rumboogy Posted September 1, 2011 Share #17 Posted September 1, 2011 OK...actually, I think it does come with a radio...just not a CB. I think (not sure) this is just an FM Radio in the fairing...the CB would be extra of course...also the zumo would be extra too.
BradT Posted September 2, 2011 Share #18 Posted September 2, 2011 OK...actually, I think it does come with a radio...just not a CB. The Jester just picked up a cross country he added a J&M CB and it has a MP3 hook up in the right saddle bag. Only problem is that you can not change the song.
