Guest Slab_Ryder Posted May 17, 2011 Share #1 Posted May 17, 2011 Riding in the Southern USA and going to change my Clutch Fluid, all I notice us DOT 4 full Synthetic Fluid, is this the proper fluid to use? I hadn't noticed in Canada if it was fully Synthetic or not.

Squidley Posted May 17, 2011 Share #3 Posted May 17, 2011 Dot 3 and 4 are compatable with eachother, the synthetic has a slightly higher boiling point....your fine.

bongobobny Posted May 17, 2011 Share #5 Posted May 17, 2011 Yup!! The synthetic is a better choice but both are compatible!
Bobby G Posted May 22, 2011 Share #6 Posted May 22, 2011 My fluid boiled last summer en route to Ft. Lauderdale, and the mechanic who changed it out for me put in DOT 5.1 synth fluid. No issues ever since.
