Road King pipes installed finally yesterday

Recommended Posts

Well, it actually took me about 5-6 hours, but the end result is very nice. I installed a set of new old-stock Road King mufflers on my 98 RSTC2. The hardest part was making my brackets, but I got to use my new wire-feed welder, Ye-ha. Sound is much better than the drilled out stock mufflers. BTW, I didn't drill them out, they were already that way when I bought the bike. They sounded terrible. Getting the new mufflers to slide over the exhaust pipe was a real pain, with lots of grinding and filing, but finally got it.

Thanks to all for the information and pics.:cool10:

I installed a set of Road King pipes on my '06 Venture a year or so ago. The fit right on and I just made a flat bar bracket with 3 holes in it to mount them. They look great. I'd like to get a little more sound out of them but don't know how. They have the honeycomb packing in them and not the baffles that can be drilled. Any advice would be appreciated.
