  1. My mechanic tried everything. slime, silicone, aired up many times. He took it off of the rim and I polished it and tried again. Now it is sitting near the wood stove with approx 60+ lbs of air in it for the night. One side just won't go no matter what. Maybe the heat will do it. If that doesn't work, I'm going to take it to the tire store and see if they will use their blaster on it. If that doesn't work I'm taking my heat gun to the shop and we'll try that. I'm listening__________
  2. Life is a lot like toilet paper... You're either on a roll, Or you're taking sh!t from some a$$hole!
  3. I've had two people ask me about the availability of the domed decals here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/venturerider-merchandise/39088-venturerider-domed-decals.html I don not have any at this time. They are not cheap and I have to order a minimum number of them to get the best price. I have not ordered any because if there is no demand, I will end up sitting on the investment for a long time. So is there any interest? If so, I'll start taking orders and get them on the way but otherwise, will wait a while longer. Don
  4. Trying to clean the carbs but I'm stuck on step number one. It says remove the choke knob. Now I've tried twisting it off and pulling it off but I really didn't have any luck with it. Tried taking a short cut but i would really like to follow the book. Sooooo. Does anyone know how to get that knob off of there?
  5. Looks like there is a company on the west edge that is taking advantage of the firearms craze. They are taking orders, taking the money, and not shipping anything!! Looks like I am getting taken for $133.00. Internet search shows other folks recently complaining. I will give them the 10 days they show on their website for shipping any out of stock items. Then I guess off to the credit card company. Lets hope they are just backlogged. Because it looks like they have sold firearms to a few people and not delivered!! Please be careful folks, I made a couple checks before ordering but did not go deep enough. They had magazines advertised for a couple of my pistols at a good price. Supposedly they have a brick and mortar store here: Personal Choice Outfitters International 25560 W US Highway 85 Buckeye, AZ 85326-5282 Local:(623) 386-7261 JB
  6. OK, I was going about the task of changing the clutch slave. Problem I am facing is taking the crankcase cover off. It looks like a bunch of gears are going to fall out with it, along with the case itself being very stubborn. Anyone in the Vegas area familiar with taking these covers off without destroying everything?
  7. I noticed coolant coming from the weep tube on the water pump after a short ride yesterday. I've searched the forums but have not found much on second gen water pumps. 1. Is there a new/rebuilt water pump available. 2. If not one, what parts should I order to complete the job. 3. Are there any special tools required or gotcha's I shold be aware of in taking on this task. I recently had to change my radio controller and found the best price for a new one at Babbits online. I am open to suggestions, recommendations and any other help anyone can provide.
  8. I'm taking a coin with me!!!!!
  9. No, not a Harley. Linda and I were taking a ride down a country road that I had never been on before in SW VA and came around a blind curve and walking across the road was a big black hog. He was just taking his time and did not hurry one bit when I came toward him. I guess one of the good things about losing the vision in my right eye is I am a lot more cautious about coming around a blind curve and not out driving farther than I can see. Fortunately, in this case, I was able to avoid the hog as I don't think it would have turned out good for any of us. RandyA
  10. Well I have had this trip to Ky and Tn planned for a couple months now. I have to go for work and am making it a small side trip for me. Right now over Fla there is this huge rain maker parked. I have to leave tomorrow AM and am still planning on taking the bike. I probably should have my head examined, but I'm still taking the bike. Hopefully 4hr or so in the wet and I should be past Jacksonville and start clearing up.

    trip

Hi, The wife and I are planning a trip from Buffalo NY to Hopkinsville KY.Any ideas on the route without taking the thruways most of the way. Those of you that have been sort of that route have any suggestions. Thanks Kelly
  12. We'll be leaving Hopkinsville, KY Thursday morning, taking the Western KY Parkway to Elizabethtown. 1st question is would I-65 to Louisville and I-71 be better than continuing on the Bluegrass Parkway to Lexington and I-75 north? 2nd question is what about taking US-27 out of Lexington to US-62 to meet I-71 south of Columbus, OH, thus by-passing Cincinnati?
  13. I know a lot of you have seen the Youtube video on changing a Goldwing tire by laying the bike on it's side. I was wondering has anyone tried to do this with the RSV? If you start by taking off the saddlebags and the axle nut, couldn't this be done by laying the bike on the left side? I know there's more that has to be done, like taking off the brake caliper and stay, and the right exhaust muffler, but has anyone tried this? It looks like it would work if you're out in the boonies somewhere and don't have access to a lift.
  14. Before my long trip i have accumulated some spare parts to take with me. I am taking TCI, rectifier/regulator and ignition coil (i am taking just 1 of the 4 spares that i have). Is there a way to test the regulator and ignition coil without putting it on the bike? I have already cheched the TCI on the bike. (BTW I am not bike electrical literate.)
  15. I had a talk with my grandson about a week ago about me seeing him cranking it on with him on his CBR600 and he was going to get a ticket. The thing about it is, you can sometimes get by the Laws of the Land, but when you don't stay within the Laws of Physics, you can really get in trouble. He is again scheduled to be in surgery in the morning and they will try to see how much muscle damage there is, as they have to keep taking out dead muscle tissue and are trying to stop the bleeding before his leg can be closed up. We do appreciate all the thoughts and prayers. RandyA
  16. I have a Scooter Schooner tent trailer at my parent's house in Coeur d'Alene, ID that I need brought to Anchorage, Alaska. This would be ideal for somebody planning to camp on the way up and then taking the ferry back down (to Bellingham, WA). My daughter and I used it on our 8100 mile trip last summer but couldn't get it on the ferry for our trip home.
  17. So after putting the fairing back together after fixing the wiring to my horn. I went for a ride today and no radio. I thought I checked all my connections while I had things apart but I must have hit the radio connection. So I'll be taking it all back apart tomorrow. I guess there is nothing I can check with out taking the fairing apart.
  18. i need to know alternate rear tire sizes. i have a MU90-16 78h , E3, on their now. what are my other size options?? i have about 5k on the E3, but will be , hopefully, taking some nice trips this summer. new Venom on front 3 months ago.
  19. i've been taking radiation treatments for prostate cancer for almost 7months,tried to take a ride last weekend but had to return home due to some major swelling, dr. visit monday sound a possible cause, it was confirmed today that cancer as spread to the right testis so i was told to stay off the bike, surgery to be scheduled soon but looks like i'm down for the yr at least. but for the rest of you please visit your dr follow hit orders ,, and ride safe this yr, "i'll be back" steve:325:
  20. I dont know much about this bike yet so bare with me. Need to replace a speedometer cable on my 83 Yamaha XVZ12TK, can I get the instrument cluster out to get to the back of it with out taking a lot of front fairing off. It seems loose like it will just pop out but I don't want to mess anything up. Thanks Jerry.
  21. I found a 05 Goldwing Trike W/Hannigan kit. 88k miles. I know this bike and it has led a very pampered and sheltered life. YELLOW!! Did I mention it was YELLOW?? 24,500. Is he going to get that much? I really don't know what these things are worth. I will get some pics next few days. This guy is very anal about taking care of things. 88k but you would never guess it. He rarely breaks speed limit with it. Matching trailer is available.
  22. Only 3 more days of work then Charlene and I are off to New Orleans to board the Carnival Conquest for our very first cruise. We cant wait to get on board. Everybody that we know raves about cruises. We are taking 3 excursions, all waterborne, not taking any land trips, want to get as much sea and sand as I can, because I have never seen or been on a beach or in such clear water as I have seen in the pictures and vids. Looking forward to snorkeling and taking some underwater pics with my new underwater camera. If anyone here has been on the Carnival Conquest, I would love to hear your review on it. I will be posting some new St. Jude auctions before I leave so you guys can have fun bidding on them. It will be a big surprise to see how much money you guys throw at these auctions while I am gone. Will be back online on Feb. 22.
  23. Becky and I are driving to Florida at the end of the month via I79, I77, I26 and I95. If you are somewhat near this route and want to meet up for a cup of Joe, a meal, etc let me know. We are NOT particularly looking for accomodations as we pretty much plan on spending time in hotels but would love to at least say hi on the way down and back. We are leaving Tuesday Jan 24th and are arriving in Boca Raton FL Friday. We are taking an 8 day cruise leaving Saturday from Ft Lauderdale. When we get back we have friends and relatives to visit in Florida for a couple of days and then heading back on a Monday. respond here or by PM...
  24. This might be the most absurd reason to go light on a sentence. To "momentarily stop" before taking off is still hit and run, and because she was not drunk. Murder is murder, http://www.bikerspost.com/forum/topics/mom-gets-60-days-for-fatal-hit-run
  25. http://i.ebayimg.com/11/!!d2udE!B3M~$(KGrHgoH-D!EjlLlz,uWBKqhFq!ki!~~_11.JPG Anybody know anything about this place?? Was looking at a um you know 1st Gen. Warden is taking a nap....
