  1. Went out for a ride today with a couple of friends and had a great time. On our way home I was riding in the back as I like to do. Some nut kept pulling up very close to me, I mean at times he was within ten feet of me! I tried waving him on by so tha he could pass, I tried slowing down to make him pass and I tried speeding up to get away from him. Nothing worked, he would still come right back up on me. I realize now that I should have just pulled off the road or turned somewhere but I was riding with a couple of other guys and it really didnt occur to me at the time. So finally after about five miles of this crap, we came to an intersection where we had to stop. I got off the bike and walked back to his car, I told him very politely that if he wanted to go for a ride I would be glad to oblige him but he needed to park his $%@!&% car and get on the bike! He declined my offer and went around us. After this was all over I realized that this could have really turned out bad for me. I am usually very even tempered and I dont get mad easily, but by the time it got to that point I was so ticked that I just lost my temper! I have no idea who this idiot was or why he did this but I do know that in the future I will just pull off the road and let the nutcases have it to themselves. Ok Im done ranting now and going to clean up the bike!
  2. Recently picked up a Senior Pass for parks and stuff and was wondering if others on here have one and how much they have used it. I know that it is generally for federal parks, but do some state parks honor it? What has been your experiences with it? Sitting here at about 15 degrees, I have to think about warmer weather or I will go crazy...er. RandyA
  3. Thought I'd pass along a helpful product that I came across. I just bought a Dodge Ram 2500 truck. Needless to say the ride is on the rough side. I had a few friends who put these different spring shackles on the back of their heavy duty trucks. The name of the rubber spring/shackles is called Sulastic. I put about 100 miles on the new truck, and it really chattered on less than perfect roads. After putting them on, I drove another 50 miles down some rough snowpacked roads. There is a very noticeable improvement. It says on their website that it wont affect warranties, and or load/towing capacities either. I dont work for the company etc. Just thought I'd pass along something that appears to be a good deal. I think I paid about 380 bucks for the set, plus about 100 to have em installed. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Heres a link https://www.sulastic.com/
  4. I just received this from a friend and I thought some of you would be interested..... Subject: Fwd: Don't go Bear Hunting with a Harley Huge Grizzly killed by motorcycle… Now those are claws!!!!!! Can't you just see the expression on the bikers face just before impact! Can you believe a motorcycle killed this HUGE GRIZZLY? This grizzly was hit by a Harley on Lolo Pass. This is the pass between Lolo , MT and Kooskia, ID. Lolo Pass , elevation 5,233 feet (1,595 m), is a mountain pass in the northern Rocky Mountains on the border between the U.S. states of Montana and Idaho approximately 25 miles (40 km) west-southwest of Missoula , Montana . It is famous as the location where the Lewis and Clark Expedition crossed the summit of the Bitteroot Range via the Lolo Trail on their outward and return journeys in 1805/06. Look at the claws! http://f1608.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download?mid=2%5f0%5f0%5f1%5f37235%5fAELci2IAAK1NUJ0F7giEc31L3uA&pid=2&fid=Inbox&inline=1&appid=YahooMailClassic http://f1608.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download?mid=2%5f0%5f0%5f1%5f37235%5fAELci2IAAK1NUJ0F7giEc31L3uA&pid=3&fid=Inbox&inline=1&appid=YahooMailClassic http://f1608.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download?mid=2%5f0%5f0%5f1%5f37235%5fAELci2IAAK1NUJ0F7giEc31L3uA&pid=4&fid=Inbox&inline=1&appid=YahooMailClassic http://f1608.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download?mid=2%5f0%5f0%5f1%5f37235%5fAELci2IAAK1NUJ0F7giEc31L3uA&pid=5&fid=Inbox&inline=1&appid=YahooMailClassic http://f1608.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download?mid=2%5f0%5f0%5f1%5f37235%5fAELci2IAAK1NUJ0F7giEc31L3uA&pid=6&fid=Inbox&inline=1&appid=YahooMailClassic http://f1608.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download?mid=2%5f0%5f0%5f1%5f37235%5fAELci2IAAK1NUJ0F7giEc31L3uA&pid=7&fid=Inbox&inline=1&appid=YahooMailClassic The biker spent three days in the hospital! The hog's a wreck! Lesson learned Don't go Bear Hunting with a Harley - they're only good for one hunt!
  5. I know, I'm not the first one, or be the last to gripe about cagers that just got to squeeze you out of your lane or just get too danged close while trying to pass on the road. It's disturbing and it's all too often. But wait! There is a product out there that will help deter those who like to run snug against you. Maybe not stop 'em but at least a reminder to them that you have met. Well in our minds anyway. But I want a couple. (Yep, I had one of those days on the Interstate again. The old Snag was showing his teeth today) http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=14&products_id=55&zenid=bvh4343hbvggs4oall8vdu9i04 Mike

  11. I would like to see who can make it on that date, to get a idea of what all to do to get ready. I put it on the calendar so you can RSVP there, and it is posted in the Meet and Eats so if you would like to bring something like a dish to pass or maybe a tool that would be of use for the work on the cycles that maybe a good place for that. This is the first time at doing this so any ideas would be helpfull. Thanks Orlin

  14. 1st ride of the year. 2nd car of the year. 3rd mile of the year. I pulled onto 2 Way Hwy M-115 and accelerating to 55 - 60-ish, the first car seen is just cresting the slight hill top, just then red sports car with top down and blondie talking on her cell phone as her hair whipping over her eyes too starts to pull out to pass in my lane (I'm already in my far right lane) as soon as our eyes meet I know she now sees my Modulated Headlight and pulls back behind the car she wanted to pass at my expense
  15. Any Washington riders know of a unique restaurant experience in Ellensburg Wa. Looking for something that has a unique and interesting decor for conversation. Variety of food average or better, not interested in expensive foods but rather tasty. My wife and I are planning a day's ride this Sunday. Supposed to be mostly sunny. in the mids 60s. Starting out from Buckley, Wa To Enumclaw Chinook Pass (Beautiful Views) Tipsoo lake (Nice Twisty Roads) Take a few pictures Top of Chinook Pass ( More pictures) Long Canyon Road Beautiful Naches Yakima Hwy 821 - This is an increable road that litterly follows the Yakima River bend for bend. Just map Ellensburg Wa to Yakima Wa. It will route you on hwy 82 Then drag the route in the middle to the river just to the left. Thats hwy 821. Eat in Ellensburg Return trip Follow route back to Naches Hwy 12 all the way to Packwood Along the Cowlitz River Past Rimrock Lake Top of White Pass At Packwood Take Skate Creek Road to (map Packwood Wa to Elbe Wa) Used to be a dirt service road now paved. (nice 20 + mile ride) Maybe Dinner at Copper Creek Inn. I usually pull off the road Near Alder Lake State park To allow the cars ahead of me a few minutes. When the next set of cars comes around the sweeping corner I quickly take off for the next few miles of great short quick twisties along the Canyon. And with no cars ahead of me, hopefully. I think there is only one side road Where a car could get in front of me. Then Home thru Eatonville, Graham, Orting, South Prairie, Buckley. Should be about 335 miles. Get home just probably after the sun set. Get to try out some of my new lights. I plan on taking my Drift HD170 and film the best parts on a 32 gig card. Hopefully I can operate the Stop and Record on the remote with my gloves on. Anyone interested let me know.
  16. So I'm comming home from speedweeks yesterday morning after getting in to hotel @ 130 am. My roomy and I got up about 615. His van was heading back to NC and I was heading home in Central FL. I decided to go down 95 and across to avoid the possibility of big traffic jams in Orlando. It was pretty foggy @ 7 when I was finnaly loaded and pulling out. I jumped on th slab and rode maybe 30 min. There was 2 trucks running one behind the other, then the box semi jumped over to right lane to pass the car hauler. Well they rode side by side for 10-15 miles. So by now I have probly 6-9 cars behind me also waiting to pass these guys. Finnaly I see that in front of the car hauler he is comming up on a car and will have to slow to keep from running him over. NOPE he just starts comming over into my lane. I'm blowing the horn (stebel) flashing the lights he just cuts over. So now I have to back off a little more because the gentleman driver has taken my "safe distance" away. Finnaly another 3-4 miles and the box truck clears the traffic in the right lane and he moves back over. Mr car hauler? Oh no now he is going to pass the box guy that has been trying to pass him for I dunno 30 miles now. All of a sudden KA_POW and dust etc from the right rear of the trailer. Startled me but I knew what it was pretty much. He had blown a tire on the trailer. Next step slow up, waveing left hand so cars behind dont run you over while you are slowing and I moved to the extreem left side of the lane. Pieces comming out from under the trailer. Then the tire gator, the tread comes out squggiling and squirming. I dont think any two of them do the same thing when they get thrown off. All was good, good Lord kept me safe and I waved to Mr courtious car hauler as I went by smiling. No not the one finger salute either, but I did thik about it. DJ Fl
  17. TURPENTINE VS. HOLY WATER A little boy was sitting on the footpath with a bottle of turpentine. He was shaking it up and watching all the bubbles. A priest came along and asked the little boy what he had. The little boy said, 'This is the most powerful liquid in the world; it's called turpentine.' The priest said, 'No, the most powerful liquid in the world is Holy Water. If you rub it on a pregnant woman's belly, she'll pass a healthy baby.' The little boy replied, 'If you rub turpentine on a cat's butt, he'll pass a Harley Davidson

  22. Hey guys. I have never given the pass seat a second though but The weather is getting better na dmy wife and daughter are wanting to ride with dad!. the pass seat on mine is mounted with one screw at the tail but this is not enough to keep it secure. the seat still moves to the left and right. Is there something that i am missing or is it that the rubber grommets under the seat are compressed and need to be replaced. While working on my buddys venture i noticed his seat had a whioel different bracket to mount to.
  23. rear passanger grab handles for the ROYAL STAR VENTURE they want to sell or pass on? If so are you going to MD. Thanks, Joe
  24. Interesting ride in the last two days, part of my ride to work takes me down a fairly busy two lane raod. Well yesterday a lady in a Dodge Nitro decided she wanted to pass me on the right because she could not pass on the left due to oncoming traffic she did not succed but about ran me over when the road went to four lane. You would think this would be a uncommon occurence think again a guy in a pickup truck was tailgating me halfway up the road this morning then decideds he is coming around thankfully I was able to squeeze over enough for him not to hit me or go into oncoming traffic. I stopped behind him at the traffic light and took a picture of his license plate and the big Faternal Order of Police Bumper stick, don't have aclue what I was planning on doing with the picture but it shook him up some. Just needed to vent Thanks
  25. Melanoma can end your life! Skin Cancer. We don't talk about it and probably because we just don't know. Please pass this on to any young people you know. I was young once and understood the feeling of invincibility. They need to know that they can be invincible, they just need to be vigilante. http://dcmf.ca/ Thomas
