Harbor Freight lift table on sale for $299

Anyone have experience with this lift table? It looks like a sweet deal.

Sine he said I can use THAT one. About twice a month he comes over to use mine, I have yet to go use his, Seems every trick we do requires a wheel to spin. And its great for putting out in the driveway and jacking up the bike and washing it. Amazing the stability of the thing.

And, its cheaper.

My second Jack is the J&S jacks.com Also an amazing Jack, you can move and spin your bike on it jacked up, with just one finger.

But I did notice the dealer has they drive up jack.

I bought one at that price and they work fine. It could use a modification to the wheel clamp, it needs to be the L shaped clamp (but the clamp it comes with will work). I did drill a hole on each side about half way back and put eye bolts in so I could attach the hold down straps too. It does come with eye bolts and holes near the front of the lift. It also has a removeable plate to drop the rear wheel through.

I've been eyeing this version of lift - http://www.harborfreight.com/6000-lb-capacity-scissor-lift-91315.html. Considering the costs of a quality lift table for my trike this is appealing as it's in the same price rang. Plus it can be used on my car and truck. Of course I'll have to make up some sort of adapter for the trike maybe.

If my garage had a higher ceiling I'd even consider a 2 post lift. As it is I'll have to move this outside if raising a vehicle very much. Lots of choices when going this route from numerous companies.

Sold me on that one Larry, now fabricate a adapter for my 2008 RS and send it out!

BTW really impressed with the one I have, Think Im going to do pins in the legs in place of bolts, but really nice finish and fit. Could no do without it. Don't trust boards.

This is the lift I have. Works pretty good, but I am still cosidering the table lift also.

I purchased this a thre e wks ago and love it. I used the two supplied straps and one of my own very secure and you can roll the bike around easily. Yep, my neighbor has that exact lift and that is very simular to the air over I bought years ago from Harbor.. Mine does have the other clamp (L shape) that clamps up way better and its rated at 1200 lbs.. I have even used mine to build several choppers over nine feet in length - removed the stop at the end of the table and extended the table out, works great.. Also done a ton of work on quads on it.. Keep in mind that you really do get what you pay for, I KNOW there are many other brands out there that have my thicker steel and better hydraulics for a price.. Of course much pricier but I have been satisified with mine..

When I first got my Venture I worked on it like I did my Triumph which was a lot of sitting on the floor. It was really getting to me after a while and I had friends that kept telling me how nice it was to have a table so I spent the money. I could not be more happy with it.

I use it all the time and even use it with my mowers.

I've had that lift in my shop for five years. The first three years it was the only lift I had. Two years ago I added an air lift with the L shaped clamp.

While I do most of the work on the newer air lift, the HF lift still gets pressed into regular service. I use it when:

+ The air lift is tied up with a job and I need to sling a small job through.

+ Small to mid-sized motorcycles that I expect to spend time with major dis-assembly while I wait for parts. That way I don't have to box everything up and move it to keep working.

+ I change front tires by loading the bike onto the lift backward. Any bike that has low pipes, fender or bags that the won't clear the L clamp get done on the HF lift. This is the real beauty of the short clamp on the HF lift. NOTE! Putting a motorcycle on a table lift backward takes quite a bit of skill. I don't recommend learning it with a heavy motorcycle like the Ventures.

Now, the reasons the air lift gets most of the work:

+ As many times a day as I run motorcycles up and down that foot pump is really tiring.

+ The L shaped clamp makes it fairly easy to secure any motorcycle without assistance. It is challenging to load most cruiser style motorcycles without a helper because the side stand extends beyond the edge of the table. This is not an issue with sport bikes and early standards because their stands will rest on the table while I strap them down.

+ Dropping the rear tire of a large motorcycle through that trap door pretty much demands an assistant because the wheel needs to be passed through the hole. On my air lift the whole rear of the lift is removable so I can just lower the wheel without a hand off.

One nice thing about the Harbor Freight hydraulic lift is the edges of the table are flanged upward. This means things never roll off the sides.

With any table lift you need a jack to do tire service on most motorcycles. Some motorcycles that have center stands can be done without a jack, this included the 1st gen Ventures.
