intake carb boot bolts

Recommended Posts

Hi there. I just replaced the o rings on my intake carb boots and had stripped the threads in the intake for one of the shorter bolts. So I had to use a bolt that was the same lengh as the longer ones. Is there a reason for two of the bolts being shorter. I'm hoping I haven't pluged a oil gallley. The bike seems to run fine with no problems. Thanks for reading. Ron

The shorter bolts are due to an interference issue in two of the holes.

Front left cylinder, outboard hole & rear right cylinder outboard hole need the shorter screws.

These two screws also need permatex or similar sealant as they penetrate the oil galley.
