They seem they will not protect the front area of the bike.\, only bend in on a very low speed drop. (like falling over) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The "crash bars" were never designed for a moving crash. They are only there to keep the bike somewhat upright should you drop it while standing still. Confused Posted September 8, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 8, 2009 I've had to lay mine once when trying to stop on gravel. Came to a sliding stop on the bars with only scratches on the bars and the bike never touched the ground. After we stopped, the bike was on the bars and both tires on the ground.
