Caution !! ya`ll it is Summer or close to it, and the slithery creatures are out! This morning, while out in my " Shop" I pluged my big fan up, it blew the Ground fault breaker on the wall socket, so I go over and push the re-set, after pushing it, I see this 2ft long bundle of fun!!! I do not know how I didn`t get bit, as my hand was only about 2in from its head..

Ya`ll be careful!!

We have snakes up here too. They can be deadly. We call them "tar snakes". When the highway repair crews pour tar on cracks in the road. The tar melts in the heat and they are very slippery. Can be deadly on corners.

WAs the first snake a rattler? couldn't quite make it out. And the 2nd on is a copperhead?

And yeah, those tar snakes are the worst of all.

When we lived in Oregon a few years ago, heard the story over in Eastern Oregon about the ranchers getting tired of hunters killing some of their cattle, shooting before they properly identified what they were shooting at. Well, one of them found a ball of hibernating rattlers and with friends pitchforked them all and loaded them into a pickup truck. As they drove down State Route 395, every so often they would pitch some out. They didn't have hardly any hunter in that area that year. Guess they figured if there are that many "roadkills" how many would there be in the hills. That's one way to solve a problem.
