Bill Feehan Posted April 16, 2008 Share #1 Posted April 16, 2008 I have replaced the seals in the front forks for the last three years on my 1987 Venture standard, I went out this morning and found that the left seal had leaked again. I took it up to the mechcanic that did the work on it last year and he can't figure it out either. He said the bushings were good last year when he replaced the seals. He said he used the seals Yamaha reccomended( K&S I beleive). I am stumped any one have this type of problems , I sure could use some help. GeorgeS Posted April 16, 2008 Share #2 Posted April 16, 2008 I am going to guess that the guy might be damaging the new seals, upon installation. He is doing something Wrong. Also, this time Also replace the two bushings on each tube: Carefully check the tubes for sharp edges that might Damage the New Seals when they are Installed. See the 1st Gen Maint Library, if you decide to do the job yourself this time. If you can't do the job yourself, I strongly suggest finding sombody else to do the job.
