Radio remote control housing.

Recommended Posts

What's wrong with yours, Jay?

All the problems I've heard of stem from a dirty or loose connector inside the fairing at the radio junction. Mine freezes up and doesn't work until I take the connector apart and clean it good.

It's pulled loose from the mounting plate and pieces of the plastic housing that secure the screw ferrels are gone. I think it was caused by brake fluid that splashed on it while bleeding the clutch several years ago. I'm trying to repair it again, but eventually I'm going to need a new housing or a complete remote.

No, that's the passenger volume and push to talk assembly. He's talking about the handle bar mounted "Head Unit".

There is a new one for sale in the 2nd Gen Parts thread.
