Jthomas Posted September 15, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 15, 2019 Here i go again, noob question. Freebird is probably rolling his eyes by now. What is good idle speed? Without having a tach its hard to tell if my bike is idling high or just sounds bad ass. I roll through my apartment complex at idle doing about 11 mph. Also, is it normal for it to have a weak idle at first but then sound like it racing after riding on the highway for a bit?
Marcarl Posted September 15, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 15, 2019 Sounds to me like your throttle linkage may need a bit of lube. Also to make sure things are in good order, you should do a cab sync which might also define and/or fix your issue. Once you've done that, let us know if we can be of more help. Freebird Posted September 16, 2019 Share #3 Posted September 16, 2019 RSV should b e 950-1050 according to the manual. I usually kept mine on the low side of that. Usually around 900-950. I just do it by ear. ut there are inexpensive hand held tachometers if you need one,.
