uhfradarwill Posted May 20, 2019 Share #1 Posted May 20, 2019 I was putting things back together after some front end work when I dropped the left hand handle bar nut trying to start it. It went klink klank but never hit the floor. It is still MIA. I'm going to try some compressed air before I start ripping plastic off. Bummer!!!!!!! BlueSky Posted May 20, 2019 Share #2 Posted May 20, 2019 My 89 ate a couple of screws that I never found. Always a bummer.
SpencerPJ Posted May 20, 2019 Share #3 Posted May 20, 2019 My 83 likes storing nuts by the radiator. Maybe a stick magnet will help?
Marcarl Posted May 20, 2019 Share #4 Posted May 20, 2019 If you get a small flexable light you can often see more than with a reg flash light, you need to be able to stick it into places that can't be seen with the naked eye so to speak.
videoarizona Posted May 21, 2019 Share #5 Posted May 21, 2019 My 89's favorite hiding places are on top of the radiator, on top of the exhaust collector and behind the motor but in front of the rear shock. I finally got tired of mirrors and snake lights. Ordered a tiny camera that plugs into the phone. Has a led ring light at the end of the stalk. I can see! Found 2 nuts hiding in the 89 that way. So before you go "nuts", get one of these little cams....fun to play with too! https://www.amazon.com/DEPSTECH-Semi-rigid-Inspection-Waterproof-Adjustable/dp/B00STB0EW6 I know nothing about above cam....just included the link so you would know what I was talking about. I've had my little one for 3 years now. Still works...
Condor Posted May 22, 2019 Share #6 Posted May 22, 2019 From the title of this thread I thought it might be a seating problem.....
uhfradarwill Posted May 22, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted May 22, 2019 From the title of this thread I thought it might be a seating problem..... LOL I tried air and a stick magnet to no avail. I began by removing the left side chrome radiator piece that wraps around the horn and bingo, it was sitting rite behind it. I consider myself pretty lucky.
