THANK YOU for keeping the prayers happening my eternal brother Sly (it goes both ways but I think you KNOW that),,, without that prayer support the enjoying our time together would have been long since passed! That cutie with the AK is DEFINITELY a keeper! She is the actually the one who noticed the Museum and thought best we turn around and check it out = FOR SURE,, my kinda cutie too!! Look carefully at her stance and site line of the pic of her pulling a bead with the AK,,, she may look innocent enough but I would DEFINITELY not want to be a bad guy on the receiving end of her taking a stand if she ever needed too!! :duck:

Yea it is AMAZING the things one finds while out goofing off CTFW and chasing the wind.. Sometimes I think I am related to "Little Joey" in the "Family Circus" cartoon Vaz,,, you know,, the kid who his mom sends out for a news paper and he spends all day doing everything BUT getting a news paper :rotf:... You are more than welcome on the post brother,, here is part 2 of the museum,,, FACINATING place to see and definitely worth the stop if you meander up that way,,, by the way,, TOTALLY free admission AND,, GET THIS YOU GUYS = $5 GENUINE Military Ammo Cans of ALL sizes!!!!!!!!!! Also the place is "manned" by Veterans who are still volentering to serve their country.. Place is amazing!!

Part 2

Awesome video and great naration, Puc. :usa::usa::usa:

Not as well known as the Hickster for testing different shooters but still pretty cool when talking ammo and stuff:

I have been watching him for years he is my favorite one to watch when I need some feedback on ammo or guns.

All this gun talk has gotten me a bug to get another pistol, After going to various shops and handling different makes and model I'm currently leaning towards a Smith & Wesson MP 9mm 2.0 in a 4" barrel. Don't have a 9mm thus choosing this cal. I like the grip fit & gun balance. Anyone have one of these? Pro's & Con's?

Got one. Like the way it feels in my hand. Mine is the first gen. Supposedly the version 2 has a much improved trigger. You cant go wrong.

The trigger pull on the one I checked was short and very smooth. impressed with it as many other makes / brands had much stiffer & long pulls. I'll be going to a gun show this weekend and see if I can score a decent deal on one.

I bought one from a local dealer during a flash sale in August (probably a S&W promotion). I paid $339.95 They are $459.95 now on a good day. I really like it but I have a Bersa Pro 9 that I like better.

This thread looks fun! Ok, I'll play, here is a sampling of the toys in my house:

First, my Scary Black Rifle (Savage MSR-15 Patrol) and my Full On Evil Communist Bloc Shotgun (VEPR-12).

MSR-15 and VEPR-12.jpg

This is my Howa 1500 chambered in .30-06 with a Nikon Buckmasters II 4-12x40 BDC scope. I rescued the rifle from the used gun rack at a local gun store:

My wife's EDC, a Kimber Micro 9:

What was bought as a toy but has become my EDC, a Smith & Wesson 686 Plus .357 Magnum 3"

The 686 is a real sweet shooter, especially with .38 Specials. After some research I bought these to carry in it for self-defense:

Got to shoot them for the first time last weekend.... Wow! They sure pack a wallop! Even in that heavy L-Frame you know you have a tiger by the tail.

I would be real hesitant to shoot them in a J-Frame....that would be brutal. But at least I have confidence they will get the job done in the unfortunate event I had to use them.

WOWZY WOW WOW WOW,, THANKS FOR JOINING IN ON THE FUN MONSTAH!! Beautiful smathering of mouth watering shooters ya got there brother!!! LOVE your VEPR-12!! Grabbed an FR-98 (AR-12 cause I am into AR's) myself to fulfill the want of a high cap 12 gauge a good while back and discovered the issue of having to pay big money for mags above 5 rounds,, something the VEPR had long since had covered. Time and sales has long since brought those prices down and the AR has proven worthy but I do LOVE your AK style 12 gauge = NICE,, REAL NICE! As well as your other shooters, I also LOVE the looks of your wifes Kimber 9.. Looks like a 1911 platform!! DEFINITELY love the 1911's!!

Thanks for joining the fun Monsta!! Glad to have you keeping the lead tossin happening!!

Yeah, the VEPR really is a hoot to shoot and I am very pleased with it's performance. Unlike the Saiga it is not finicky and will eat any ammo I feed it. Recoil is really not bad (for a 12 gauge) due to its weight and the muzzle brake I have on it. It is a heavy gun. Unlike the Saiga which is based on the AK receiver, the VEPR is based on the heavier duty RPK machine gun receiver. Heavier gauge steel = more weight. With the muzzle brake I have to give warning before firing if anybody else is on the firing line. If you are standing anywhere nearby you can feel the concussion. Not uncommon for guys to walk down from the far end of the firing line just to see what kind of Howitzer was going off. 😁 Accuracy is excellent for a smooth bore. This is a 5 round group with Winchester PDX1 Defender slugs at 50 yards off a bench rest using a non-magnified red dot sight.

Yes, the Kimber Micro 9 is pretty much a miniature 1911 in 9mm. It is also a very nice shooter. Both my wife and I shoot it more accurately than we do our M&P Shield 9's. The Micro 9 is also more compact than the Shield. Here is a comparison with it sitting on top of my Shield. The Kimber has a 7 round magazine in this pic while the Shield has a 7 round magazine that has been converted to hold 9 rounds.

Kimber Shield Size Comparison.jpg

Here is a comparison of how the Kimber fits my paw vs. how the Shield with the 9 round magazine fits my paw. I have since upgraded the Kimber with an 8 round magazine, which fits me better.....but it is still my wife's gun so that doesn't really matter. And my Shield rarely makes it out of the safe now since I carry the 686.

Bass Pro Shops & Cabelas usually run them for $329 a few times a year, I think the last go round also included a $25 or $50 store gift card that brought you down to just under $300 adjusted. The local gun shop will reasonably match prices as well.

I had a lunch & learn a few weeks back at the gun range that came with a few free boxes of ammo. The instructor for the class is also a semi-pro shooter. He's got a Springfield XDM9 with a modified 1.5lb trigger that he uses for 3-gun completion, don't blink or you just pushed off a round but it was a fun toy to play with.

He just picked up a SIG 365XL and this was his 1st time out with it... My 1st shot went a little wild but the next 6 were perfect grouping. I'm seriously debating ditching the M&P and find myself one of these.

I'll play. This shot is missing my childhood .410 (great for knocking squirrels out of trees) and my M1 Garand (non-CMP).

Left to right - Luger Vaquero .45 single action, S&W .22, S&W Highway Patrolman .357 - my dad's service weapon of choice (he was a motorcycle cop in Bellevue, NE), and a Springfield Armory U.S. Model of 1911.

The wear on the cylinder on the .357 is from a service holster. Can't imagine how many times a sidearm has to be drawn to wear down the blue.

I am right there with you Tuffy!! I have owned many handguns thru the years, had a scoped Smith 29 6 inch in 44 mag I did a LOT of deer killing/hunting with which was another of my favorites but gotta tell ya, my 5 inch 1911 is by far,, my favorite to shoot and have around. I know it is wayyy old school and this probably dont mean much by todays standards but it has a Gen 2 hardened slide, adjustable trigger, National Match Barrel/bushing (stuff you military folks used back in the 60's for competition shooting - THANK YOU for your service by the way TuffTom!!), Signature Pachmyer grips and Bo-Mar adjustable sites on her. I have ran thousands of rounds thru it in everything from +P 230's to Hornady XTP Hollow points (for hunting) to 150 Grain flat nose reman's and it will gobble em all up like Condor and I eatin ButterNut ice cream as long as it's tuned for em. Matter of fact, that is one awesome thing that I have ALWAYS loved about my 1911, it is super easy to tune and clean. Last couple thousand rounds (just ordered and received another 1000 rounds) its been spitting out cheapy 200 grain flat nose remans. Tuned to spit the cases out to 6 feet with a 12 pound recoil spring - the thing LOVES EM! I know the National Match stuff is a thing of days long gone by but I gotta tell ya, this thing will roll a 5 inch ground roller indestructable target ball out past 75 yards if ya practice with it a little - its deadly.. WHAT AN AMAZING OLD SHOOTER FOR SOMETHING DESIGNED/CREATED IN 1911!!!!

videoarizona,, David,, my AR15 upper parts are suppose to be here today if I am reading the tracker correctly (and if the Post guy can get thru all this white stuff that Flyinfool left in my driveway)!! Keep an eye on this,, thing is gonna be AWESOME FUN!!https://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=115395https://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=115394https://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=115393https://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=115392https://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=115391https://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=115390https://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=115389https://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=115388https://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=115387https://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=115386
