Very sad news.....

and Yammer was always ready to learn more about our the worlds ultimate touring machine and it's mighty V-4 from his fellow VR guru's!!!

Sometimes he could even be coerced into joining in for a group picture.. It always intrigued me though cause he usually ended up on the edge of the group - I teased him about that and asked him if he always planned an escape route..

Yes, this is very sad news. I only met Dan a couple of times but those times were memorable. My condolences to his family. This reminds me of how quickly life can change and we should always have our affairs in order. RIP Dan.

I have gone through these testimonials of Dan's impact with tears in my eyes. As I have said I never met the friend that I had, but was so looking forward to meeting at Freebird's MD.

May the Good Lord hold you close in his arms and calm your pains.

Rest in peace.

I too am shocked at this turn of events. When i joined Dan made me feel welcomed. We sparred at times and he helped me many times with answers to my questions.. As all others here have stated, he will be missed. RIP Yammer... Ride the skies..

It hurts me to hear of this. I've been to only 2 IR and one Vogel and he was at all of them. We hit it off very well despite many obvious differences between us. That guy brought me and others an exceptional among of joy, happiness, love and brotherhood into this forum. One of a handful of of members I would say is a founding staple in the forum. My heart is very heavy and wish the his family and the many here who we think of him as family( I know I do) the deepest and heartfelt condolences. He was an incredibly loving guy if ya knew him and if he took a liking to you, he would do anything for you. He called out of the blue one year when the exact 2 tone venture I had was in an accident. It wasn't me, but he was willing to offer support and help out. That's our Dan. The world has suffered a great loss...

*Puc- thanks for the pic there. My first time at a VR event, we ate together, and rode the dragon and even took that pic standing together. I appreciate you bringing back some warmth...

Oh man..... not news I wanted hear. Dan was a character and someone that always was there with a jab and poke to keep people on their toes. But as long as I've been on this site he has shown nothing but heart. Dan...... you will be missed, deeply.

My thoughts go out the his wife and family.

Don, let us know what we can do for them.

IHMO,, our brother/friend Yammer Dan was not the type to stick around if he felt like he wasn't wanted/needed/loved. Here at his home in the VR clubhouse, that being wanted/needed/loved was a two way street for Dan and he knew he was loved:

I am trying to think of all the things Dan was as a friend. Although I only saw him at the MD's and also at the SKID in, we still knew each other very well because we would chat on our VR chat a lot. Believe it or not you learn a lot about someone by chatting., Dan was always pretty much in a good mood when talking about bikes. He sure loved the first Generation bikes. I lost count but I believe he had about 9 of them. It was always a competition with him when he would get into conversations about which bike was the fastest. Of course, to him the First Gen was the winner. He knew everything there was about those bikes too. I never saw Dan in a bad mood when I was around him. He always gave me a big hug. Although, if he felt he had wronged by someone he would let you know. He was a good family man too! He loved all of his children and grand children. He especially loved Patsy, who he jokingly called Warden. Dan will always be missed in our Venturerider family. I say family rather than group, because we are a family. We were joined together because of our love of riding, but it became more than that. We got to know each other, and care for each other. When there is a tragedy in our family we always join together to get through it. When we call Dan our brother and friend, that is what he was and will always be to our family. God Bless his memory. I am only glad about two things in this whole horrible situation, he finally got to ride on his beautiful trike and he is no longer in any pain.

and THANK YOU Lil Yammer for feeling free to jump in here and share with us - what you did here is GREATLY appreciated Lil Yammer!!!!! PLEASE dont let it stop here!! I think it's club policy for your Dads account to be permantly left open so immediate family can continue doing what you did for,, well,, for as long as our club remains.. If this is not so and you would like to continue

doing this,,, I will rattle our Presidents cage here ( @Freebird ) and let him know that I would be happy to pay your Dads club dues so this can continue!!

Condolences to you and your family Lil Yammer,,,, many many people are praying for and thinking of you folks at this time - your Dad was truly a loved man!!

I'm glad that you were able to jump on here and post. You are and always will be welcome here, as is your mother. The account is secure and we really want you to stay in touch. A part of us has moved on to a special place but the rest of us will be here and remember Dan for the brother that he had become to us.
