1. everyone is buying aftermarket fairings. My question is why cant or wouldn't you buy a fairing from Yamaha for a venture, and mount it on a rstd. would this work?
2. I went to Costco, and was looking at big screen tvs- thought I could buy one with the insurance money I got from the Yamaha. Then I thought, I could die of an embolism in front of that thing watching other people have fun, so against the advice of (some) family and friends, I have resolved to use that money to rebuild the Yamaha RSV from the frame up! The new (to me) frame arrived today. I am stripping the old frame of everything not broken, and buying used to replace what was to keep the costs down. Hopefully I will heal before the bike does My question is- in the wreck, the left rear mounting lug for the engine stay was broken off, but the forward one is ok. How important are the engine stays and can I get by without changing the head? Will only one lug on the left be ok?
3. I know this is not a vid of a motorcycle, but it sure is cool! Maybe this will be the Next Gen. from Yamaha in a three wheeler, Yea, Right!

The AeroMobil 3.0 Flying Car Has Arrived

Enjoy, Earl
4. Well I jumped off a ledge and bought these for the VENTURE. I wanted to post what I bought so if any other member is looking for the same thing it makes it easy. I want to thank everyone here with there help and assistance in making up my mind. I spent quit abit of time talking to there staff and figure this is the right way to go. Thanks again Custom Dynamics Yamaha Cruiser LED Turn Signal Conversion Kit GEN200-Y-KIT LEDs: Amber Front, Amber Rear Bases: 1157 front, 1156 rear Equalizer: GEN-UNV-STABILIZER & GEN-MDK (Add $45.00) Genesis 100 LED Yamaha Tail Light Board GEN-100-1157YAM http://www.motorcyclehidxenonlights.com/Yamaha-Royal-Star-HID-Xenon-Lights/
5. Yesterday I tackled the project of a coolant leak on my '86. The hose that went from the thermostat to the radiator was deteriorated and seeped fluid. The part number for that hose called "Hose 3" is 26H-12578-00-00. It has been discontinued by Yamaha, boats.net said they had it for $24.26 plus S&H. I bit the bullet and ordered it from them:mo money:, it did not ship and i heard nothing from them so I called and they said they don't have it and can not get it . So I went into AutoZone and gave the old hose to the lady at the counter and sure enough they had an almost EXACT one in stock! I had to trim less than an inch off each end and it fit perfect! The AutoZone part number is A71651 at a cost of $4.99 Long story short.....Yamaha part #26H-12578-00-00 = AutoZone part #A71651 (need to trim just a little off each end)

7. Does anybody have a set of Ball milled ones they would like to sell or no of anyone that does. Have called and emailed at least 40 yamaha dealers. How about our friends to the north? Anybody in Canada.
8. Sorry if this is a duplicate post... There are still treasures to be found out there. $21,000 for a Yamaha
9. I wanted to get a new housing for one of my passing lamps. Yamaha can't order just one. I decided to go with H3 Halogen so they (Yamaha) ordered the ones for the tour deluxe. They have a switch on one of them that I didn't want or need. What do I need to do to make this work, and get rid of the switch? I'm doing a makeover on my 99 RSV , and I'm trying to get things finished before the painted parts are done.
10. Reading some old articles on clutch whine and basket changes... bored at work so out of curiosity I looked to see what pricing is. Thought it was interesting that the "I" basket applies to ATV's, boats, lawnmowers, as well as the Venture and RSTD. 4XY-16150-09-00 ("I" basket") PRIMARY DRIVEN GEAR $331 @ boats.net $302 @ partspak.com $285 @ boatpartguys.com $342 @ yocracing.com (Yamaha of Cucamonga) $299 @ lawnmowerpros.com "H" basket was 26H-16150-00-I0 Makes sense they'd use it in multiple applications but quite the variance in pricing. I didn't list the higher prices I saw ($385, suggested list $405).... but $100 difference in price between top and bottom. When looking for parts by Yamaha part numbers.... extend your search past bike shops and you might save some $$$$. Unless you have lots to throw around (in that case throw some my way !)
11. While getting ready to go for a ride today I noticed that one of the braces that support the trunk bracket was broken at the weld. Has anyone had this happen to them? I have pulled everything and have the trunk bracket pulled and ready to go to the Yamaha shop tomorrow as they are closed today. I have attached a picture. This is a 2007 RSV
12. http://www.extremesportsyamaha.com/default.asp Exttreme Sports Yamaha-Sumter December sale today & tomorrow I got an email from Extreme Sports Yamaha in Sumter. Their semi-annual sale is today and tomorrow (Nov 30 & Dec 1). They are open till 6 tonight and 9-3 Saturday. Nice time to pick up some bling before Christmas. Oh, and this is a great dealer,,, not a stealer. I try to give them recognition when I can. Mike G.
13. Friend of mine is drooling over this one. I think this one is going to get some interest. Yamaha better stop sitting on the fence.
14. Hey...ya'all, I just got this e-mail from Clearview, and they are having a huge sale on all Yamaha windhsields, like...60 % off sale. If you go to www.clearviewshields.com you will find the info. If you ever wanted a Clearview windshield for your bike, this may be the opportunity. I have to believe that this is for already made...hanging on their walls...windhshields. This sale probably does not include new orders for custom made windshields. Check it out.
15. Hey Folks, I just came accross a Yamaha dealer that has the best online oem parts and accessory prices I have ever seen. Recently I had to buy a new front cowling for my 07 Midnight Venture and started searching online dealers to see what prices were out there. And I started with MR Cycles out of Ashville, NC who I had bought from before, where I felt they had some of the best discounts on oem parts. Well for some reason I decided to Google the part number and at the top of the search was Stadium Yamaha with a price of $711 for a $1,000 part, which was about $100 less than any of the usual discount dealerships including Ron Ayers, MR Cycles, Bike Bandit, etc. When I did the math, this came to a 30% discount. I felt this dealership was in the DFW Metroplex, but when I looked further I discovered it was really my old Irving Yamaha dealership, under a new owner and name. So I called their on-line parts manager Kirk Gross and discovered that they are purposely going after this oem on-line parts market and are discounting oem parts and accessories as low as Yamaha will allow. And like other dealers that do this, Yamaha has to deliver parts to them and they turnaround and ship it to you via UPS and do not mark the shipping up any. So, if you are ever in the market for a new Yamaha oem part, you really need to take a look at this dealership and their on-line prices. Here is the link to their site: http://www.stadiumyamaha.com/ And if you need to talk to a real person, you can contact Kirk Gross 972-445-0825 Hope this helps, Rick
16. My '88 didn't come with the plug in headsets but has the ports. Where can I get the headsets, are they yamaha or can I go aftermarket? Thanks Sean
17. Saw on the news there was an accident involving a 50 year old riding an '83 Yamaha on the south side of Milwaukee (and no, he wasn't wearing a helmet - it doesn't look good for the rider). Hope it wasn't any of us. Anybody have an update? RR
18. Trying to catch up to Yammer Dan....but none of them are blue! Going to drive 6 hours each way to pick up these 2 bikes. Getting both of them for $1500. 1984 Yamaha Venture Royale in good condition needs 2nd gear replaced but can still be driven or for parts. 1985 Yamaha Venture in good condition has a 1300cc motor from a 1989 venture so no 2nd gear issues, runs and rides excellent. Also have another running 1200cc motor
19. A HUGE thanks to BigBear for taking the time to create these videos. There are 4 versions here. They are similar but he did some editing in an attempt to create smaller files. I decided to upload them to YouTube so am just going to link all 4. Putting them on YouTube will save us a TON of bandwidth. 20. All the threads regarding Yamaha dealers are in the "Watering Hole" forum, so here goes... In a couple of weeks I'm taking a bike trip through 11 states and wanted to take a list of Yamaha dealers in those states with me 'just in case'. Does anyone know of a website that lists Yamaha dealers by state? I don't care if I have to cut & paste each state into a 'master list'. The problem I'm having is that the sites I've been to require a zip, or city, or only list 'featured dealers' etc... and others just list links to the individual dealer's web site. I only need name, address and phone number in case of emergency, which seems like such a simple thing... Any help will be greatly appreciated.
21. I just bought a 1989 Yamaha venture royal and can't seem to find a internet or catalog to buy parts for it if I need to. There is not a Yamaha shop here where I live the closest one is 200 miles away. Anyone no of a good web site or a catalog I can get to order parts? Thanks.
22. I need a little help on my 1989 Yamaha venture royal 1300 the air comp panel doesn't come on most of the time It will come on once in a while buy its self but it has no display most of the time. I have checked the plug it all looks fine. Have any idea what I need to do?
23. ust curious, I have been collecting and and reselling vintage stereo equipment for about 3 or 4 years now. It is a addictive hobby if you enjoy music in a full and more spacial format than a set of hearbuds and MP3 compressed format. I have worked my way up to a system now that I could only dream of earlier in life. I think I may have my ultimate system in the works. I just picked up a pair of McIntosh MC-30 tube amps. Can't wait to hear them up and singing. My current main system consists of, Klipsch Forte II & Klipsch LaScalla speakers Yamaha C4 preamp & Yamaha M4 amp Empire 598 Turntable Pioneer 707 Reel to Reel Rotel 855 CD If you share this little addiction let me know what you have for a setup. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c66/CNONT/sys1.jpg
24. First of all, I absolutely do NOT think that there will be a new generation Venture for 2013. All the talk about it got me to wondering about something though. In the unlikely event that there IS a new Venture at some point and Yamaha is actually smart enough to build it around the new VMAX engine, what can we expect in regards to the engine/gear/clutch basket noise. Did Yamaha improve that with the new engine? OK...I addressed this to Squeeze because I know that he has the new generation VMAX but there may be some others that own or have ridden one also. So...I guess you can answer too.
