    Dunlop E3's

Just order a set of E's for my venture from Jake Wilson for 209.00 I so glad teh brickstones wore out 7500 miles and the rear is gone and could not wait any longer on the front to wear out.... I have never been so sick of a set tires in my life.
  2. went for my 1st post op today...doc says everything looks good and is mending correctly. took some new x-rays and it was a nasty break in my forearm, but i got a nice new piece of chrome holding it together...now i wait on the bill. i still have a brace on my left elbow to keep it in socket, and one on my right wrist doing the same. all in all i am doing pretty well and thank each of you for your continued prayers and support. can't wait for the VA M&E on April 17th!!! Ben
  3. Finally got out on the scoot after several upgrades. the Carb mod with the needle spacer adjustment netted me 12mpg more, averaged 42mpg at regular cruising speed. I also installed the 420 Progressive shock in the back end...wow what a difference on the ride, still waiting for the front spring set to come in, can't wait till I put those in.....A huge thank you to all of you that have posted tips etc on mods and upgrades.. Soldierboy
  4. Rode the bike into work tonight for the first time with the Avon Tires and the lowering kit removed.......all I gotta say is WOW! The bike rode good before, but the tires are unbelieveable! Well worth the money. I cruised I-95 at about 75 and felt like I was on air. Can't wait until I get off in the morning so I can ride home. Thanks for pointing me toward the AVON's fellow VentureRiders! :dancefool::dancefool: Ben
  5. I have a 1983 Venture Royale. I believe that I have a stuck float on the front left carburetor. I tried a can of seafoam but no success. When I turn the bike over the fuel runs out a hose that is just below the tank. Anybody have any suggestions. Any help would be appreciated. Cant wait to get back on the Highway.
  6. the rear tire off the bike. in another thread i posted about finding the rear tire flat and finding a pop rivet in the middle of the tread. i have to wait until next week before i can order a tire, so in the mean time i could do a carb tune, but i don't want to put the tire on & then off again when the new treads come in. Has anyone done this or should i just wait. dale in La
  7. I pulled the clutch as was described in Fred's excellent post, and scrubbed the hell out of the fiber plates with a wire brush untill the glaze was gone, all disks were within tolerance as inspection with a micrometer (thanks to autozone). I wonder how long it will take to glaze again... The coca cola in the hydraulic lines was bled out until it ran clear with new fluid. Now my Blondie can't wait to pass cars going 60, and the clutch action feels to the hand as crisp as I'd imagine a new bike (don't know, never had one). You old farts rock! Oh, wait, I'm and old fart, too. I ferget. Next: change coca cola out of the brake lines!
  8. just to let ya know, im working my way on home cant wait to see ya
  9. I installed a Blue Ox sportloader 2 in a pickup for American Iron mag last week , it was a rite up on how good it is and how easy it was to install , it was the 1st one i have install and i got to say i like it and it only took 15 min. with 2 people to do , it is very easy to load a bike on but i think the 2 peace ramp is heavy . i like it a lot better than the old model and it is better than the cable type . now for the ego , in the Amer. Iron peace they show a HD being loaded but in the same peace in the sister mag. Metric Iron , wait for it ! :whistling:they show my bike being loaded , a 1st gen ! i was going to wait for the mag to come out buuut i could not wait that long to brag about it
  10. Well, the better half and I are finally going to make it official next month and get married. We've been seeing each other for over 2 an a half years. Alot of first for both of us, she has kids and I have none. Alot of getting used to but it's the greatest now. She didn't like motorcycles, and now I can't leave without her. I'm so excited and can't wait until November 21. We'll be doing it in Luray, VA. Very private and quiet. Just her and I. How great it is when you've found that one.
  11. Got my Kumho mounted on the wheel today.Tomorrow I will install it on the bike. Can hardly wait for the test ride.
  12. My '87 model has 80k on her, and I want to go touring. My #3 cable broke where it goes through the adjuster elbow over the carbs. Should I replace all the cables while I have to wait for new parts anyway? It looks like #3 takes most of the abuse anyway. Also, is there any dealers who may have these cables on hand- most seem to have to order everything!
  13. Got some more pics posted to photobucket. http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Hub%20last%20day%20and%20ride%20home/ Had a great time, can't wait to go again. Arkansas has got to be the best overall riding in the country.
  14. I know my 05 RSTD is running rich because it smells like an open fuel pit when I start the bike and I get an occassional "pop" when I shift gears, no smoke noticed at startup or at any other time. So far the plugs are not fouled and I am getting 40.5 MPG riding 2 up. (I'm 280, wife is less tham 1/2 of that). The bike now has 5500 miles on it Question is: Can a carb synch and adjustment wait for another 1000 miles or so? Or should it be in the shop now? Inquiring minds want to know.
  15. We got the laptops computers today that are for the rally prizes. Cindy was looking at them and now she has to have one. Told her wait to see if we win one first..... haha If not guess we will be ordering one for ourselves shortly...Or should I say for Cindy... Dale
  16. After much discussion with Charlene, we have decided that future Tail of the Dragon@Vogel will only be taking place every other year, so the next Dragon@Vogel will be the 3rd weekend in August, so the next date it will be held is Aug.17-21, 2011. This will allow us, with Charlene's health permitting, to attend some other events, since putting Vogel together takes so much of our time and almost 1/2 of my vacation. We love doing it, and seeing and meeting old and new friends at Vogel is dear to us, but limits us as to how much we can do of other things. So if you were planning on coming to the next one instead of this one you will have to wait 2 more years for this to happen, so if you cant wait that long now is the time to make it happen.
  17. Just want to say Happy Anniversary Ron. I cannot believe we have had thirty happy years together. Of course, I know we were married in 1972 (You do the math). All kidding aside, we have accomplished a lot in our life together and I just want to say thank you for sticking with me through it all. Of course, we have many years left together. Right? Get back with me later ok? I will wait up. Yama Mama
  18. Hey guys, Thought I'd share a couple of pics of my new grandson. This is Toby. So new these photos are 24 hours old. First grandchild, and needless to say the pillion-in-a-million can't wait for a cuddle. Perhaps tomorrow - 400kms away. #1 - Father and son. #2 - Mother and son. #3 Toby.
  19. I saw a classified here a couple of weeks ago for passing lamp visors! I thought they would make a great xmas stocking stuffer for the hubby so I bought them. They came in the mail today and I'm too excited to wait till xmas, so I thought I'd give them to him for Fathers Day! That starts at 5:00 tonight doesn't it? hehehe can't wait to get home and suprise him! Thanks again Randy for the bargain I got!
  20. So this morning after my first appointment at the chiropractor I took my bike to be serviced. It was gonna be a few hours so they offered me a goldwing to take for a ride. I did and they are nice bikes, great power and nicely built. After putting 120 miles on the 08 wing I'm now positive it's not the bike for me. However after looking at some of there ventures I noticed one, an 07 exactly like mine except it had about every acc. known to man on it. I was starting to miss my bike so I took a seat. The back pain immediately started to dissipate! So I said I gotta take a look at this backrest. Flip it over and it says utopia on it. OK I've heard of these looks like a quality backrest. Bike is finished so I rush home to beg mama to let me have one please o please baby I'll never ask for anything again the rest of my life! She says if it will help you ride further and longer get one. Placed the order about 60 seconds later. Can't wait for this sucker to come. They said the build and ship date is June 1. Cool!!! Now how long should I wait until I tell her I need cruiser pegs to help my back pain. hehe I seriously love that women.

  22. My seat arrived this morning. Thanks much for doing the Mod to it! After re-installing I sat on the seat and noticed the difference immediately! I can't wait for the opportunity to do an all day ride.....as soon as the snow and ice are gone from my area! Regards and respect........Boomer
  23. If I could afford it I would buy it in a heartbeat......you gotta see it to believe it............costs about $150,000.00.......but wait till you see what it does............. Terrafugia
  24. I am looking for a second 1st Gen and a buddy told me about this. I called the guy and he said it is in perfect shape but now I decided to wait for another one that is here in Texas.
