Trying to catch up to Yammer Dan....but none of them are blue! Going to drive 6 hours each way to pick up these 2 bikes. Getting both of them for $1500. 1984 Yamaha Venture Royale in good condition needs 2nd gear replaced but can still be driven or for parts. 1985 Yamaha Venture in good condition has a 1300cc motor from a 1989 venture so no 2nd gear issues, runs and rides excellent. Also have another running 1200cc motor

I saw a new commercial for the Chevy Eco today: A guy drives up to a Chevy dealer in a new Toyota Camry and the dealer asks if he's "Ready to trade the ole girl in?" The drive replies that it's a brand new Camry and he just wanted to look at the new Chevy. When the owner gets out to look at the cars the salesman starts looking at the Camry and says there's no way this can be a new car. Antoher saleswoman steps up and asks "what are you looking for?" He replies " A cassette deck". I immediately thought about the Venture. (I had a 99 before the RSTD) Maybe if the other makers would call out our Venture Yammy might finally wake up!

I had a loaner bike this week a 2008 star raider and let me say this is a great looking bike but thats where the compliments from me end. My girl and i had it for a day and a half and only rode it for 2 hours cause that bike is torture on a old spoiled man like myself. If i was 20 yrs younger I would have been all over it but that day is gone, the forward controls are way too forward feels like i was hanging on a jungle jim and the feet were in a birthing stirrups..lol any way with the girl complaing of a sore butt and my shoulders screaming we parked it and waited for our beloved venture to be finished at the shop. I love that bike "venture".

Hi Venture Friends I am a newbie to Venture rider I just bought a 1987 Venture 1300_ I bought it cheap and of course Has its problems . All the diaphyrams in carbs are busted no problems with handling this problems. MY BIG CONCERN IS THE TRANSMISSION-'THE REAR WHEEL WAS JUST STUCK ON . I REMOVE WHEEL TO TEST DIFFERENTIAL ETC--FOUND LOTS OF PLAY IN TRANS. I COULD MOVE DRIVE SHAFT APPROX 90 degrees back and forth except for 5th gear in which was nor mal I drain oil no signs of metal in oil . My question what should back lash be when rotating driveshaft- WHY IS IT SO MUCH PLAY IN 1 thru 4 but. 5th to me is nornmal Thanks. Jim C. Carson City. Nevada:bacp

My Insurance company has agreed to not implement the $3500.00 max limit on the value of my recent wrecked 91 VR, because of is age. What they have agreeded to is finding comparable listings. I can do a nationwide craiglist search but there are so many expired listings and that take a lot of time also. What I'm asking for is if you could do a craiglist search in your area or other types of advertising. I'm specificially looking for listings of any Venture Royales that are selling for $4500.00 or higher. The higher the asking price the better. Thanks for your help. Please send a copy of the add to golfmaniac2@yahoo.com

Just watched a commercial for the new Malibu Eco and the punch line immediately made me think of the Venture. This guy pulls in to the dealership in his new Camry and the salesman says "trading the old girl in are you?" to which the guy says "this is a new Camry and I just came over to see what the new Malibu Eco looks like". He then gets out of his Camry and goes over to look at the Malibu. While he is looking it over the salesman is checking out his Camry saying "this is new?" and other derogatory stuff. Finally he bends over and looks inside the Camry stands up and goes "hmmm". Another salesman standing next to him ask what he was looking at and the salesman says . . . "I was looking for the cassette deck" I wonder why that made me think of the Venture lol. Ride Happy, Ride Safe

ok i do not ride a venture but i do work at a dealership, small one, like i am the only employee and the other folks own it. I have a weird issue with a venture that i cant figure out. even called yamaha and they seemed puzzled. what it does you can cruise around all day at in town speed and nothing will happen, you hop up to highway/ interstate speeds (70-80) and the bike dies, check engine lighgt blinks twice and then the bike comes back on, no set time period as to when it will do this, seems completely random. owner has removed radio stuff from the bike. I have no idea where to go next

I went to the local Yamaha dealer this morning, to order some parts, because I completely removed the AIS system off of my '06 RSMTD. Went I came out from the showroom, toward my bike, here were two guys standing next to my bike, pawing it, like it was an old girlfriend of theirs. Now, I am very old school...meaning, in this case, I was brought up in an era of motorcycle riding where you did not touch another persons motorcycle, unless the owner of that bike was your # 1 friend in the world, and they asked you to move it or get something off of it. To see these two, older guys, pawing my bike, got my feathers ruffled. Taking a very deep breath, I decided to approach them with a friendly demeanor, rather than be nasty about it. Turns out, after much discussion, that one of them owns an '06 Venture. He did not know what model his bike was...until I told him it was a Venture. He asked me all kinds of questions about why my bike had this, and that, and where was my rear trunk, and why did it say Tour Deluxe on the saddlebag trim. He was totally perplexed about what model my bike was, and when he said he road one that is the same, I asked him several questions about his bike, of which he had no answers. I finally determined he had an '06 Venture, and when I said the word...Venture, his eyes lite up with 15 watt dimness, as if to remember that yes, his bike was a Venture. Geez...you would think that if a guy, he is 67 years old, owns and rides a 2006 Yamaha Venture...he would know what model of bike he has. Okay, I have seen this 1000 times over the past 42 years of riding. There are bike pilots, that know NOTHING about their bikes except how to barely ride it down the road. And then there are the rest of us, that are so intimately familiar with our bikes, and about 99 % of all the bikes on the road, that we have everything memorized down to how many newton meters (NM) torque is used on every bolt of the bike. It just bugs the gorilla snot out of me. Get familiar with your bike. If you won't, then give the bike to someone that does care enough to become familiar with it. So, after fully removing the complete AIS system off of my bike, I then rebalanced the carbs with my handy Carbtune Pro, and the bike runs very nice. Miles

Sometimes a ride is just a ride, and occasionally it means more than that. Enjoy: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/08/06/1117354/--I-am-in-Awe-of-my-Wife-Jodie-picked-the-Title
