  5. Took the bike in and had it serviced and a new Dun-lop E-3 put on the rear. It was done and, well, it was sunny, and hardly any wind, and, well I called in and took a day of vacation, and well, went riding! I went through 2 tanks of gas for a total of 452 miles. (Most I was able to get in was 4.87 gal at 231 miles, hit reserve at 201, I think, darn gauge resets and does it's count down.) Went no particular place, for no particular reason. Just me and the bike........... WOW, WHAT FUN I HAD!!! :sign woo hoo: :sign woo hoo: Sorry had to,,, rub it in,,, I mean ,, um ,, vent. Yeah that's it, VENT! Bryan
  6. To do some riding, as long as the weather man co-operates. Did a lot of greasing, changed the tires, and added a few things. Brooke and I got out for a nice little ride, Brad

  10. Following is a "very condensed" version of my experience with Earl (skydoc_17) and his 2nd gen clutch upgrade kit. After installing the kit, I was not happy with a specific aspect of the results. Sorry, I hesitate to go into details at this time other than to say the kit does work. In any event, Earl has provided me with an acceptable workaround that should solve my specific issue. By this I just wanted everyone to know how very helpful Earl has been, and willing to ensure my full satisfaction, even though I really wasn't asking anything specific from him. I explained the issue, told him what I did to correct it and he went the extra mile (actually more) and offered a better solution. Thank you so much Earl, there are so many who could learn what the meaning of Customer Service is from you. Also I want to thank Squeeze for his input and expertise in this matter. What an amazing group of people we have here. :thumbsup2: :thumbsup2:
  11. Seeing as we're both guys and we've never met .... but since there isn't an actual "award", I give a great big THANK YOU to jlh3rd for the great deal he made me on his "old" Clearview shield. :thumbsup2:
  12. Not only is Dave fixing an '84 and painting it for Quickstep, he has now generously offered to lend us a CB for our trip. Condor is letting us use a GPS, and is mailing it to Dave's house. Muffinman is lending us a trailer, and it is working it's way across to Portland Amazing...bloody amazing!!!!!!

  18. It all started when the shop wanted 5 hours @ $100 an hour just to tear down (plus tax) and reassemble the front of each bike. I talked to Chuck the owner of the other bike and he agreed this was too much money. I talked to a couple of favourites here Marcarl and Squidley, you may recognize the handles. They said take your time and you can do it. When my wife came home and found us in the garage with two bikes and the entire front ends removed. God bless her sole, she said……… Squidley....... said whatttt?????? Are you sure you know what you’re doing. Too which I replied. UUUMMMM . She walked away with a smile. Here is a link to what it looks like with the front end removed. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/album.php?albumid=735 Well 8 to 10 hours of work and we had everything back together. Took a little longer but I know every bolt is in and tight. What a difference in the ride. Thanks guys for the tips. Carl :thumbsup2: Brad :thumbsup2:
