I got home from the holidays and finally was able to catch the managers at the mailroom today so I could get a package that I got a notice for...... And it was a VentureRider gremlin bell! In light of Squidleys accident with the tire blow out which I have no idea what caused it but it got me thinking about this product I just saw this advertised in one of my emails from an RV'er site I frequent. http://www.aviationupgrade.com/ Has anyone seen one of these or have any experiance with one? I was thinking of trying them out. Any comments?

I am going to trike the 92 that I got from JRichard for Mini to ride.What I need is detailed pics of how the rearend and suspension is mounted. I would also like to know what type of rear axle is used.I Do not like any of the kits available and am thinking of making my own from scratch. I know from real world experiance that the 2nd Gens have a much too touchy rear brake. Or at least in the two that I have owned. I plan to install the TCB Lifesaver Valve and I'm not sure which level of slip I need. I thinking either the 30-40 green or the 40-50 red. Anyone have one already mounted and can post results?

As many of you know that in August the tornado that ripped through my neighbohood as well as my wife's bike. Maybe I can get her the bike that she really like silverado 650. so if anybody wants any parts for a maxuim 700 just let me know before they go on ebay. I have an XM radio in my truck and love it. Of course I'm very interested in having XM on my Venture as well. Now I'm debating on what way to go. One thought is to buy a Pioneer Inno and connecting it through my speakers on the bike. I'm thinking that this would work nicely because it's compact and I can use it in my wifes car as well. Has anyone else done this? Pros/Cons? Thanks, Bob

Has anyone changed their speakers? I am sure a lot of you have. I am thinking of replacing the speakers with decent 2 way speakers for better highs and midrange. Damn, no place for a sub! Has anyone ever added an amplifier? I am thinking of a small sized 100 watt amp (4 x 25). Is there a decent quality small compact sized amp that can be used on the Venture? Would it be relatively easy to hook up? Looking forward to your replies. Greg

That's another job on the moneypit done. Between the advice and freebirds writeup on forkseals in the tech library, Oh and a trip to home depot and sears, while I surely didn't get it done in an hour, I now know how to change the seals in the forks on a vr. Tomorrow is valve cover gaskets. Anybody got any suggestions? Trying to get the bike ready for a trip to south Ga the end of the month. I had been thinking about selling this thing this winter, but at this point, I think a coat of paint and a sattelite radio, and I might just keep her. Can't swing it this time, but I think next go round I might try to get in on the deal for the MAC mufflers.

Can anyone tell me where I might find an OEM seat with driver backrest for a 2001 RSV? My 6+ year old Corbin is starting to wear out and I was thinking of trying the OEM style. Even used would be okay if it was in good shape. Thanks

I may be doin' some wishful thinking, but, is there anything out there that plugs into the stock stereo/intercom headset pin connectors on the 2001 RS Venture that would then allow for a Bluetooth helmet mounted rig to use the on-bike intercom, hear the on-bike stereo, and connect to a Bluetooth phone? Like I said, probably wishful thinking. Looking for a way to be able to utilize system that is already on the bike and connect to the Bluetooth cell phone without using two different head sets. of a stator assembly for an '84 VR? Mine went bad and the dealer here wants $340.00 for a new assy from Yamaha. I'm thinking it may be a little high but am not sure. Any ideas? Thanks!

I'm just gonna make my own synchro tool. http://www.powerchutes.com/manometer.asp Since I'm only gonna have two hose openings, how would I sync the left bank to the right bank? I'm assuming I can just hook one up to, say, #2 cylinder and the other to #3 just so long as I put the plugs back on #1 & #4. Am I thinking correctly?

I'm thinking about looking into installing a motorized AM/FM antenna on my venture and I was wondering if there was anyone here that might have looked into it themselves. I'm thinking about finding a spot in the fairing, but I'm wondering if that would be too distracting while riding. I could mount it in one of the saddlebags, but I was thinking it would be in the way of the passenger and I'd have to get a quick disconnect of some sort so I could open the saddlebag... and then thinking about in the trunk, but it would decrease my storage there... the one specifically that I'm looking at is this one which doesn't have the motor mounted directly on the antenna and would probably allow for more compact mounting. So, any thoughts?

I was thinking about putting SS brake lines on my 05 RSV. For those of you that have done this, how much difference did you notice from the OEM brake lines to the SS? Since Yamaha doesn't seem to offer them for the rear, I presume its because the rear line is so short there wouldn't be a noticable improvement. Am I thinking right on the reason for no rear SS line? Just wonder if there is enough improvement to justify doing it. Cheers, Gary B

Hey everyone as the weather starts to get cold I am in the process of getting ready to paint the bike. I just can't stand the factory paintjobs and being that I do custom airbrush and paint work I just feel like doing something wild. I was thinking of doing a tigerstripe paintjob with the base color being corvette yellow fading down into red down to a purple fade at the bottom. The center of the tank would be the center of the tiger stripes running down each side of the bike from there. The front fairing and trunk and bags would also be painted to match. It is either that or a tigerstripe with the yellow fading to white at the bottom. It is sort of hard to explain but and I am not sure how to post pics in this forum, so if you go to my website www.bigheadguitars.com and go into the custom shop on page 4 you will see examples of both paint jobs (just click on the picture for a bigger view). I was also thinking of adding some LED lights afterward to show off the paint. Let me know what you think. Paul
