Met up with Ediddy today at the local stealer, we talked bikes and VR and just killed some time, then we took a ride over to the HD stealer and looked around there for a few minutes and walked out in shock after looking at the prices for those new models...........Way too much cash for any bike, IMHO. We then went to lunch at Mc D's and just happened to miss the rain storm that started after we got there so we sat and talked some more till that stopped. Now in case anyone is looking for a good deal on a used RSV, they had a Liquid Sliver one on the floor, loaded with all sorts of chrome goodies, upgraded speakers, power amp, with just 16,000 miles if I remember right, bike looked fantastic, they took it in on a trade for a GW. The salesman stated they would take $12,000.00 for it. Wish it would have been there when I bought my VStar, I could have paid a little more and had it instead. It was good seeing Ediddy again, I last saw him in Tifton, Ga. when we did the Venture West/East Coast version and rode through the dirt...................Looking forward to meeting up with you again Eddy. Its great meeting up with other members on any occasion, we even talked about the VR family and how grand it is to have all these friends. And thanks again for the travel bag Eddy. It will get much use in the near future.

Can anyone tell me where I can get carb rebuild kits for my 83 xvz12tdk Venture? I called a dealer and he could'nt find it in any of his books and another talked of trying to put one together. I have a spare set I want to rebuild also so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Don I know where your red marbled waterman pen is.I got to thinking today and called Beer30 and had him look in the trunk,Sure enough the pen is in the trunk of the SS bike. Now if the pen is still there when I got over to Beers this week I will send it to you with the Star Zippo we talked about. Jeff

Haven't dropped by in a while, and not quite sure why. Maybe it's because I don't seem to have much downtime lately... or because after sitting on a computer all day at work I can't bring myself to hardly look at one at home! Hopefully everyone is doing well, and hopefully at least some of you are able to get out and ride. I'm having withdrawals so bad right now, spring can't come soon enough. Anyone planning any exciting trips this year? I'm hoping my dad and I will get our plans set in motion to take a trip up and around Lake Superior. We talked about it last year, but scheduling never got worked out, and my mom was having problems with her foot and was in a boot for 6 months (that put a damper on her riding). Anyways, just thought I'd drop by and say hello, and hope everyone is surviving the winter!

any one know , what an '86 sold for , brand new in 1986??? might come in handy , for "dickering " purposes. i have a line on an '86, for sale. haven't seen it, or talked to the owner , yet, but i will! just jt

Well, yesterday I bought a new (used) vehicle. 2004 AWD Olds Bravada. Wow this baby is loaded. Never had a vehicle with so many bells and Whistles. Heated Leather Seats, Driver info Center with all kinds of things. Its gonna take me a couple months just to figure out how to use everything. Coming from a Ford Focus, so its nice to be back in a bigger vehicle again. I should be able to tow a trailer also, which is something I have wanted to be able to do. Wife and I have talked about how it would be nice to take a Winter getaway with the bike. QUESTION Has anyone ever installed any of the chips/modules that claim to increase horsepower & mileage? If so, what is your opinion or experience? Do they really work? Thanks for any responses. Jay

Met Joopie today, he just walked right in as if he had been here before. We shook hands, introduced each other, said hello, talked about business, and the girls, went out to see if Scamper was still alright, talked about room for the most important in life, felt a gentle warm breeze, gave him some pepperettes and there he was gone. Wonder why he came around?:think: Maybe just to get an invite for dinner with his bride of 30 years. Well he got it, and soon we'll eat and meet together. Actually he's quite a nice guy, rides a Venture (2nd gen:confused:) and is looking to do some Venturing around when it gets warmer, looking forward to it already.

I have spent a lot of time and aggrivation looking for my twin sisters, who I haven't talked to, or seen in 20 years. I checked all of the web sites to look up people. Now the last time I talked to them, they were about 8 years old. When I left my ex, I left all the info behind, and lost track of them. Well....I finally found them....on Myspace. I sent a message to both of them, in hopes of getting a response back from one or the other. Well I did, and then we talked on the phone. You know, it feels good to be able to still make my Mother cry:crying:. But I feel GREAT about it!! And I'm still grinning from ear to ear!! One thing I know now....we will NEVER loose track of each other again!! So if any one is looking for a long lost friend or relative, try myspace!!

I have Roadhouse 65's slip-ons on my V-Star. About 4 inches behind the clamp where the pipe slides onto the stoch head pipe, there is a 2 inch wide brown/yellow blotch. the head pipe is not blued. Is this normal? Any way to clean it? Have not talked to Roadhouse yet. Was going to call them, but don't have the number and their web site is down right now.
