  1. How many diabetic (Type Two), do we have here. I'm really having a bad time with this stuff. Any advice would be appreciated.....Fred
  2. I was wondering if anybody is in the business of selling high performance car stuff, like a speed shop. I would like to get some prices on some stuff I want to buy.
  3. Here is a URL that was sent to me by one of our members. I have spent some time there before and many of you may have also but if not and you are interested in classic bikes, there is some good stuff. http://www.dropbears.com/bikelinks/Classic_Motorcycles/
  4. This was passed around on the C.M.C. site, thought you'd all get some enjoyment out of it as well. http://www.whybike.com/biker Mine came back as; You are a Road Captain You live in the wind. You could be at home watching far off destinations on TV but you prefer to discover your own. You cross state lines like most people cross the street. When stuff happens people look to you for answers. You are a wiz with duct tape and bailing wire. Riding is not just a diversion but a way of life.
  5. I just wanted to wish all of you a Happy and Merry Christmas. Haven't posted much on here lately, but I HAVE been checking in a few times a day and I think about all of my friends here often. Been busy as heck with stuff going on (all good stuff) We're planning what has become our traditional quiet day at home with the family, our folks, the kids, my son's brand new fiancee and her family. Seems that since we've started doing this, I enjoy Christmas so much better. Hope the day is special for all of you too. Vin
  6. Anybody over buy St. Paul and Minneapolis, MN. know of anyplace that does chrome plating? I found some chrome for my first gen but some of the stuff has some pitting and a couple small scrapes on them. Don't want no ugly chrome on my bike.
  7. I forced my self to go for a ride it was frigid only in the upper 70s. I only went about 200 miles when I got home just before sun down it was in the lower 60s. This winter riding stuff is rough.
  8. I have a buddy of mine who bought a used '99 RSV. The previous owner had some custom stencil paint stuff done to it on the trunk, his and his wife's names, and since the new owner, my buddy, does not have the same names as the previuos owner, we need to take it off. The rumor, we read somewhere, is you can use easy-off oven stuff to remove the paint without hurting the original paint underneath. So is this true? Is there way? What other methods might work. Th trick here is to remove the newer paint and leave the original paint untouched and unharmed. Any ideas, suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Hey Waz up with New Enough Banner? Do they giving us some discount , or kick back to site? I'm looking to buy some stuff from them. What's the deal.
  10. i walked into a local auto parts store and there it is, a display stand wth Sea-Foam products. he said he has been selling at his shop for 15 years. if anyone is interested pm me and i will pass on the address. when i was down in the USA visiting Bongobob recently, i bought two cans of the stuff because i had not found a distributer here, and this guy is almost in my backyard. the stuff does work, i had a hesitation around 2500 rpm, poured in half a can on a full tank, ran it through and the problem seems to have gone. next tank i am going to put the other half can in. cheers, Scott
  11. Harbor Freight 40X48 trailer. I've made stake sides (with front and back) with rails for items that don't need to be protected from rain and for bulky stuff. They are removable so that I can pop on the enclosure I made today. It also fits into the stake holes where they are then secured by clevis pins with cotter pins on the back. Anyway....I've made the enclosure out of 1x2 and some 1x3's and 1/4 plywood(ish) stuff. It is reasonable light but in no way water tight. Even with paint I fear that there may be long term water issues. But maybe I'm wrong... Can I get by with primer and exterior grade paint? Is there any type of rubber or something that I can put on the top and front? It's gotta be easy to work with and not too thick. Ideas? I may end up putting diamond plate on the front but don't want to put it up top. I need to keep the weight down. As it is now I figure I've added about 40lbs with this enclosure. The trailer will be garaged when not in use but we get some fairly heavy downpours here in the tropics and I need to make sure the trailer and the stuff inside will hold up to it when I'm on the road with it.
  12. A while back I thought to purchase new lenses for the turn signals and taillight because they were dingy and they would not look good. Then I found Meguiars PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish. This stuff works very well with minimal elbow grease. Needless to say, I am not in the market for new lenses. These things are now very shiny This stuff works on the four turn signal lenses, taillight lense, the clear headlight cover, all of the reflectors, the clear dash plastic, the radio glass and the CLASS glass. I love this stuff and thought I would pass it on to all of you! PS. Do not use it on the windshield!
  13. Hey. I hope I'm not the only one who did this. I used the squeegee at the gas station to wash the bugs of my windshield then used the paper towels to dry the streaks. Now there a bunch of little scratchs all over it. I buffed them till my arm went numb with some stuff I got at the auto parts store that the guy behind the counter said will take them out. I learned he didn't really know what he was talking about.:buttkick:Anyway. Does anybody know a good way to get rid of them?
  14. Just got some Seafoam finally to dump in my '89 VR tank. Reading the label says it helps in the oil too. Just wanted to check & see if it really does & if I should drain the oil after having it in awhile. Sounds like this stuff is the clear deal!

    oil change

so, I have been buying all my stuff to do oil changes from the Yamaha shop here in San Antonio. I started to notice that different auto parts stores are starting to carry motorcycle stuff (i.e. filters, oil, etc.). Are any of you buying your oil and filters from the Auto Store? If so, what model numbers are you purchasing? Oil and filter...
  16. I happen to look under the trailer this afternoon, after making a pretty long trip today. Is all that Black stuff, grease, for the berrings?. the trailer rolls quitely, no grind what so ever. how soon, should the alex be redone? We're pulling it to the Leesburg rally in two weeks and want to have it ready.
  17. I'm fixing up a 200l RSV salvage I picked up on Ebay. The bike was dumped and there was mostly cosmetic damage. I've been using Plastex to fix broken and missing tabs and mending cracks. This stuff works great!
  18. Thanks to Cougar for the excellent write-up UPDATE How much Power? / Amps? Well As some of you know that I have been Adding all kinds of Goodies to my RSV this past couple months. I added the modulite. I added the 240 watt Amp. I added the New Speakers. I added the new LED lights all over the place.. trailer , bike ect. I added the Sirius Satellite Radio. I added the GPS Unit. Now with all that said, some of you and even myself wondered how the heck the Charging system would do? Well I got the kuryakyn battery meter today http://www.kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=metric&ci=2695 and hooked that bad boy up.. Then I started the bike up and turned ALL of this stuff ON! And holding the brakes on / radio full power (30) Even the HIGH BEAMS... these were the results with engine in the Idle mode http://www.venturerider.org/ampmeter/thumbnails/attachment_003.jpg Then I Brought up the RPM's to about 5k or so.. then this is what It was reading http://www.venturerider.org/ampmeter/thumbnails/attachment_002.jpg I shut the engine off and left all the stuff on for about 15 Min's and this is what it showed. http://www.venturerider.org/ampmeter/thumbnails/attachment.jpg Anyways! I feel better now knowing that my Electrical System Is able to handle all this kewl stuff I added without to much worry. Just thought I would share this Info with ya folks! (oh, that is with the trailer attached to the bike as well) (the meter also go's into dim mode at night) Jeff
