Self cancelling turn signals
jpa37 posted a topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Would like to put a self cancel turn signal unit on my 96 Royal Star. Where do you get them,is it hard to install??? -
I have a 2009 Royal star touring deluxe and am currently servicing it and found the reear swing arm has some end play in it. The end play has about .003-.005 side play on it. Is this a concern and if so what is needed to take this play out. Does the exhaust have to be removed to get access to the through bolt.

Hello, I recently acquired a 1996 Royal Star Trike. The exhaust needs replaces and as I have found out, it is a rare animal and parts are difficult to find. Can anybody here point me in a direction? I have done all the searching I know how to do and keep coming up with nothing. Also, for a V4 it sure seems to lack a lot of power. Motor is running well, just seems to be missing something comparing to the inline 4 cylinder I was used to. Thank you, Jim

I am looking to purchase another bike and after a lot of looking and research I have pretty much decided to go with a Yamaha Road Star or Stratololiner. I am leaning toward the Stratoliner but I can purchase a new 2010 Road Star S for $12,000 and it is tempting. The Venture was just too hard to handle at slow speed. I might add I like to tour and I just turned 71 if that is a factor. I appreciate any and all advise. Thanks

I recieved a baseball today. It belonged to a Little Leauge all Star this year. Won the regional when he had a Grand Slam. His first. Guess who he gave the ball to. I'll sell it one of these days for a million bucks!! In the championship game he had a Double. a tripple, a inside the park homer (that boy is as fast as a 1st Gen) and a Grand Slam. With the 10 strikeouts he had while pitching not a bad game. All star play starts in about 2 weeks. Guess I'll have to go watch.

I didn't know where to post this... Desperately needing the right rear (#3) carb for a 96-97 Royal Star, part #4NK-14903-00-00. Might be interested in a complete set of 4 carbs, also. In the process of trying to remove the float pin, I broke the pin tower off. Please, someone, help me out! Thanks! I'm not interested in 32mm carbs, just the stock 28mm set up. According to the parts fiche, the following will interchange. 1996 ROYAL STAR - XVZ1300AH 1996 ROYAL STAR - XVZ1300AHC 1996 ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ1300ATH 1996 ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ1300ATHC 1996 ROYAL STAR XVZ13ATH_ATHC ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ13AH 1996 ROYAL STAR XVZ13ATH_ATHC ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ13AHC 1996 ROYAL STAR XVZ13ATH_ATHC ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ13ATH 1996 ROYAL STAR XVZ13ATH_ATHC ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ13ATHC 1996 XVZ13THC 1997 ROYAL STAR - XVZ1300AJ 1997 ROYAL STAR - XVZ1300AJC 1997 ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ1300ATJ 1997 ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ1300ATJC 1997 XVZ13AJ 1997 XVZ13AJC 1997 XVZ13ATJ 1997 XVZ13ATJC

I have a friend that has an 1100 V Star Classic that wants to change his exhaust to get a little better sound. What will he have to do with his fuel system to make this change? I do not know anything about this bike but would like to provide him with some suggestions...

If there is any interest in my auxillary tail and brake light harness for those going to Freebird's maintenance day I can arrange to have several of each (Venture/Royal Star & Tour Deluxe/ Road Star 1700) harnesses dropped shipped to Don. Cost is $11.00 for Venture style and $13.50 for Tour Deluxe style). http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=69814

Hello, i'm looking at a 98 Royal Star Tour Classic tomorrow. it has 30K on it, and every accessory i'm looking for already on it(driving lights, driver & passanger floorboards, saddle bags, lindby crash bar with additional highway pegs, and aftermarket exhaust) i'm looking for some input on what you think of Royal Star (obviously it's going to be slightly biased if you're a member of this forum) but what are the pros and cons in your opinion? right now i have a Hyosung GV250. it's miniscule compared to the RS, but i need something bigger because i con't ride for more than 30 minutes witout severe a bachache. i feel in love with this bike as soon as i asaw it (and i looked at a LOT of bikes)the only thing i'm uneasy about is the fact that's it a 98. any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, i am interested in a Royal star 96, is not in optimal condition but is cheap. I like challenges but would like to know what are the know problems i can find out so i can look for them. Ive seen that the 99 and up are a little higher (better ground clearence) than the older one, is it possible to rise the older version? i am a little concern about clearance. I live in a high mountain country. Is possible to adapt the air suspension form the newer models... i like that too. Can someone tell me what is the normal MPG that this bike does? how long will a tank last. I usually do large trips and with harleys and they have a 200 miles tank... I appreciate any help given to make my mind about this bike. I also have the chance for a Road Star, but like this one better (less vibration). Thanks!!

I have a question, regarding Yamaha's use of part numbers. Is Yamaha consistent with their numbering system, for identical parts, across models and years? If the same part was used in a Venture, VMax and/or Royal Star, during several model years, would the part numbers be the same?

Here's the intro and I'm sure I'll post often. I ride a 1998 Royal Star "TBM" (Thee Blaque Mistress) that just cracked 10K a few weeks ago. Best bike I've owned out of 6. Google Searched for a Royal Star Forum and this was one of the top ones. Popped on, registered and found the answer to the 3 questions I had in minutes... Mainly how to remove the tank to replace the air filter. So...plunked down my $12 and became a supporter. Thanks for the informative site and see ya around. Keith

I am getting closer to getting the Venture back on the road and I am thinking if I do, I dont need two touring bikes, so might get rid of the V Star and buy a Sport touring bike. I am thinking a used Concours or ST1100 or ST1300. There are a few others I am looking at, but those two are at the top of my list. I have a co-worker I ride with and he is a trial member here that rides a Concours, and I will be trying it out soon, funny thing is, he wants to buy a 1st Gen for a second bike. He has been helping me with my Venture project. The V Star is a great bike, but Charlene doesnt ride it with me, she is not as comfortable on it as she is the Venture. So some time in the near future you might see me ride up on something other than the Venture or the V Star.

Looking for something to replace my old 1200 Goldwing with for every day all weather use.(I ride full time year round) I like my RSV and may get a second for "Beater" use but I've seen a few Royal Stars for pretty good prices. How well does the Royal Star with factory windshield and lowers protect rider from cold and wet? Looks like there is very little protection for the hands and legs. Maybe just looks?

Hello All, I have an opportunity to trade with a stealership, straight across, a set of BUB sleepers from a 07 RSTD with 4900 miles for my 05 RSTD stock mufflers. They say that they cannot sell the bike with non-EPA mufflers. Are those running BUBs happy with the tone and performance? Does seem like a no brainer. My star does have some pop on decel and I am sure more noticeable with the BUBs. Might force me to look at the rest of the exhaust for leaks. Thanks
