FInally got the big bumblebee running today which means I finally got to get out and test out the new progressive front fork springs I put in last month. All I can say is WOW. The difference is like night and day. The bike handles better than ever. This was the best $50 I've spent on upgrades. Only downside is I now see I need to get a new set of tires soon and it looks like I should just order a case of footpegs and save the hassle.

okay folks ,i need some ideas for the design on the eureka springs meet t-shirts,as far as color, and what to put on them.i want every one to be happy with their shirt.and i think every one who attends and buys a shirt and matching patch should have some input.i'm getting an early start on this so we don't have alot of controversy at the last minute.not to mention i'm getting excited about this meet.i am going to have shirtznthings do the shirts and once we decide on a design every one can go on line and order their own size and quanity.allan h. said this is the best and easiest way to do it.so give me some input, and i will take it and run.i have a professional artist to do the design,(my big sister)so what ever we pick will be very professional.no 1rst gen ,2nd gen pictures, will be allowed.bill

just recieved a pm from one of the members that attended eureka springs and he talked to cindy at the eidelweiss inn.she is going to block out the backside of the motel for us next year so we can all be together.she will start taking reservations in jan. or feb.of 2008.the back side has a large deck with umbrella tables overlooking a beautiful wooded and grass area where we watched a family of deer graze every night.very biker friendly.they even furnished clean towels to wipe your bike down.totally surrounded with good eating places within walking distance.and a very clean motel.i will start posting the meet after the first of the year.it will be in sept. again after labor day.dates coming soon. bill ps. we will have t-shirts and patches next year.

Wish I had done it a long time ago. Ten bucks for a pack of springs from bike bandit. I got a new gasket too, the old one was very hard. The lever doesn't seem stiffer than the old one, but I couldn't get the clutch to slip. Used to slip above 1/2 throttle and 4000rpms. Now I may have to learn how to ride the bike all over again. Swap out only took 30 minutes. I left the bike on the side stand and didn't even lose any oil.

Looking for some expertise. The bike is an 84 with about 55,000 miles on it. I seem to bottom out when hitting a bump especially with two up even when the air pressure in the front fork is set to 16 psi. Some suggest going to progressive springs. Any comments would be helpful. How much are these units worth? There are a couple of threads on front fork springs but none on the anti-dive mechanism. The manual says they cant be overhauled. Has anybody had a go at these units? All advise would be appreciated. Thank you

Ok, I know this isn't a Venture but you all have played with other bikes in your days I'm guessing. I bought a '78 Yamaha 400 for $1. yup, ONE DOLLAR Got it running a few months ago and it is just the perfect Learner bike. Anyway the one issue that bothers me is the way this thing dives at the touch of the Front brake. I have already drained and filled the forks with 10-30 motor oil as recommended in the manual. Still dives. At that time I was surprised to find that the Springs pop out of the upper fork by about 1" telling me that they are not 'tired'. ( the bike has 8K miles on it.) So, any suggestions? I was thinking of preloading the springs with some PVC but I'm not sure I would be able to push it all down into the fork to get the Snap ring back in place that holds the whole mess together. Is this just the nature of these good ole' bikes?
