1. Had my follow up appointment at the Doctor. He was very pleased with my shoulder replacement's healing and surprised at the amount of mobility I had. Released me to return to work (Desk Job) Monday. I have been faithfully doing my exercises and my boss (wife) has kept a short leash. I upgrade my exercises after my next appointment Jan 14. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Jay
2. Check this out...another electric bike, but this one has Jay Leno riding it! http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/video/2009-zero-motorcycles-zero-s/1120652/ (Short commercial will intrude)
3. This is driving me nuts! I went out for a short spin today and all was good. The radio was loud the sun was shinning and the traffic was light. Then it happened. I hit a small bump in the road (cuz they aren't as smooth as glass in Niagara), and my radio went into seek mode. It flipped to a new station and then moved onto the next station. It did this for quite a while. Obvious to me I have a short somewhere but I'm not sure where to start. I was thinking about opening up the left handle bar control to clean it. Any thoughts on this? Anyone? Thomas
4. A short question...... what is the S in the new Venture model ? So when I look at a Venture with no S what am I missing out on ? Thanks, you guys are always great here.
5. Back in June 09, I purchased a RSV and finally got my wife on the back of it after 27 years of hearing that there is no way she would ever get on a motorcycle. I guess after a couple of years working in ER that would do that to you. Well, I got her on and the question I have is, I feel the bike is a little top heavy and sometimes hard to control even when she is not riding with me. I have been told and have read that I should get a lowering kit, to help the balance and control of the bike. Just wondering if I should go ahead and make the adjustment or wait. I am suppose to get it done tomorrow. Any Ideas? Well all, I went and had the bike lowered, and for the short time I took it for a ride and come to a stop it was great. Just that short distance of 1 inch did make a difference. Thanks to all for the advice.
6. Most might not recognize me after tomorrow night as I will be donating my pony tail to Wigs For Cancer victims. Been waiting for this for a while and it sort of short notice(only found out last Thurs at work)!Would have liked to have collected some donations also but as I said it was short notice and was not sure about parting with IT (hair) BUT it IS a GREAT cause. So wish me luck?(should be around 14" long)
7. I know this is a short notice, Sorry. Met LGR

Seen an 08 RSV in Wauseon,OH tonight that I haven't seen in the area before. Couldn't turn around, but later I seen the same bike in Fayette and was able to turn around and low and behold he was already a member here. Only able to talk with Jerry and his wife for a short time because they had to be somewhere. Jerry--it was nice meeting you and we will have to get together like we talked.
9. Had a wire come off the stable horn. Touched the pipe and caused a short. It melted some plastic off the wiring in the fairing. I've gone through and re-taped, replaced, and recovered the wiring. Everything comes on when you turn on the ignition. But when you press the starter button the Starter Relay Assembly buzzes and thats all. What have I messed up or did the short cause the relay to go bad? I checked all the fuses behind the right side lower cover. Checked the ones under the left side cover below the seat. Checked both fuses that are on the Starter relay assembly. What am I missing? Part number 37 is what is buzzing. http://webservices.motorsportdealers.com/parts/partImages/YAM/2/02/0025/0053.Gif
10. OOPS I am in trouble now While installing my rake for the Trike I broke off an air schrader valve on the top of a fork. I really don't think there was any air in it/them, but that isn't the problem. The problem is where to find just the schrader valve. Does anyone have one that is in their tool box that some how came up as a spar,,, In short HELP !!!! I know Dumb Ass Move?!! but if you knew the hassle I have had with this triple tree you would understand. Mill work, and fit of this new design sucks.
11. I just installed floorboard extensions on my roadstar and now the rear brake line is too short. Any thoughts on where to find one made to order. I checked with the local shops so I'll have to order it.
12. :stirthepot:My brother inlaw in Texas came up for the 4th and suprised me with this I though it came out well only problem it was empty but only for a short time

14. I had a 08 Polaris Sportsman 500 atv. It was ok and did the job pushing snow, but it wasnt quite what I wanted. I decided to start pricing a side by side instead. So after some investigating and some research, the fun began. To make a long story short, I am the owner of a 09 Kawasaki Teryx. This thing is a blast. Oh and by the way, got a good deal to boot.....
15. I know that many have recommended extending the tongue to 2x the axle length. I just got back from Myrtle Beach and every bike I saw on the way down and back using a trailer seemed to have very short trailer tongues. Any thoughts on why what I see is short, while we are recommending to extend it? Could it be that the HF trailers need extended while the ones that I saw were manufactured ones like Aluma?

RSV choke

I'd like to know how many of you have to choke their bike anytime it cools off? It can be in the 90's outside and I still have to pull the choke for a short period before riding. No problem cranking, it just won't idle without the choke until it's warmed up a little. Suggestions?????
17. I am thinking of putting a shorter windshield on our 08. I am sure that some of you have already done this modification. So my questions are. How short is your windshield ? If you ride two up, how does the shorter windshield effect your passenger ? Any other advise will be considered.
18. Wow, it's been a short year! I just logged on after a 5 week out of town trip and there was a message at the top saying that my 'trial membership' has expired! I thought it was just a fluke and it would go away the next day. - Wrong. So, I got to thinking about it and I just KNEW that my membership couldn't have expired, I just did it late last year. So, I was going to contact Freebird and let him know that my membership is logging wrong. - But, just for giggles, I checked my PayPal receipts and sure enough, my time was up. So, I paid my dues and am ready for another year! Time sure does fly when you are having fun. craigr
19. I am hoping to tap into the brain trust here once again. I have been working on mounting the passenger arm rests I got from Snaggletooth. I have got that part figured out (photos to be posted later), but, when I tried to put the saddle bags back on, the "posts" were a tiny bit short. I am at work right now and was wondering if there is any adjustments to the length of the mounting posts that go into the slot? Thanks in advance. Dave
20. I put the SWR and watt meters on the CB antenna cable today. I did not expect good readings on the stock antenna. Especially with the short little cable and RCA jacks it has. A good SWR is below 2-1 a really good reading is below 1.5-1. With the short cable on the stock antenna I was anticipating some very poor readings. Perhaps in the 2.5 or 3-1 range. So I was psyching myself up to have to purchase an aftermarket antenna and cable. On both channels 1 and 40 the SWR tested at below 1.2-1. Wow. No antenna adjustment needed. No new antenna needed. No new cable needed. So then I checked the power output. These units are rated at four watts. I tested mine at 3.85. Close enough. Very surprising. I am much happier with the stock units today than I was yesterday. Funny how that is. Mike
21. At 1 AM this morning my step-son passed away with his wife by his side and family nearby. Bill lost a short battle with cancer as he was diagnosed last September. He leaves behind a multitude of friends and family including a 3 year old daughter and a 5 year old son. 38 years on earth is too short yet long enough to make an incredible impact as Bill has done. God blessed us with Bill's presence and now we are blessed in knowing he is in God's hands.
22. I received from a Member here, an original antenna for my Midnight venture. Because the first owner installed a short rubber antenna . The antenna that I received has only a short piece of antenna cable left...what is the best way to have this fixed. (See picture of the antenna) Or is there a way that I can take the mount of the antenna apart. To install the cable that is on my bike. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a372/color01joy/P1020077.jpg
23. I am to short for my bike, 5'6", so what I am thinking is I only need about an inch more (watch it) leg or lower my bike. If I go with a c/t what size should I get to accomplish this? Or is there another option?

What a DAY!

The weather was great today and I took the Second Gen out for a couple hours for a ride. Then I took the First Gen out for a short ride. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! It was like night and day....
25. First, I want to thank you all for your help. It looks like the solenoid is on the outside of the battery box on the left side. I tried to get it out but the wires are too short. I can not see it from the left side as there is steel in front of it. All I have on the left side is a fuse box with a top on it and more wires. I am at a loss.:225:The bike is a 2000
