  2. This may be my first time of getting burned on eBay. I hope not. I bought a set of chrome fairing hole covers on a BIN bid from a seller named "awfulhaunted" on October 29th. I paid as soon as I comfirmed my bid. The seller posted that there was free shipping on the BIN for domestic shipping. The PayPal totaled in the shipping on the sale so I went ahead and paid the full billing. I contacted the seller the next day and he did refund the shipping promptly. Still kept the item price in full. Fixed, or so I thought. So I waited.. Then a few days later I get a notice from eBay that a listing I had been watching had relisted. I popped it up and what do I see but the same side covers, same pic, same exact listing I had already paid for. So I contacted the seller requesting info on the shipping as I had seen the new listing and was concerned that there may have been some confusion because of the refunded shipping. Got a response that they had been shipped via FedEx......not UPS as stated in the listing. No tracking number was provided. That was on 11/06/09. He did explain that the new listing was another set that I had just got from another bike. Er...yeah....ok.....sure. And I waited... So I contacted him again today requesting the tracking info as I see someone has bid on the second listing. Haven't heard from him yet. If not by tonight I guess I'll have to start a claim on the guy. It's been going on two weeks and not much happening. So the listings were: Item# 300361849 for the ones I bought. Item# 300364426 for the second listing. Look alike to me...... Guess I'll try to put a cork in this guy before he sells this set again. I hope I'm wrong on this. So anybody had dealings with this guy?
  3. OK I just got done sorting out some parts and here's what I'm trying to get rid of next. I have 2 left mirrors in fair condition, one has rashed chrome, the other has "whited out" reflective surfaces around the edge of the mirror. Both are serviceable and better thsn no mirror at all. $5 each to cover the flat rate shipping to US. I also have a couple of MK1 front fairing frames in good shape. Pay shipping or pick up and they are yours. I also have 2 pair of stock horns. Pay shipping, probably $5 flat rate box will work. 3 pair of MK1 passenger grab rails in good shape, rust free. Pay shipping. I have a ton of other parts I will be getting rid of over the winter. If there is something specific you are looking for PM me...
  4. By now, with an exception of three fleece jackets..everyone who ordered their fleece jackets and shirts should have recieved them....before I took on this project I recieved 52 pm's expressing interest in the shirts..I expanded payment options to recieve pay pal along with the sleeveless fleece and the option on the colors of the fleece because some of the woman didn't care for pink..I also went so far as excepting personal checks against all advice...well , to date 10.... yes,10 members have ordered the t shirts....the fleece are doing ok...... DO NOT get me wrong...I am not complaining...I would think that with the amount of members we have here, that the club could do better than fill 10 orders......I'm glad my vendor does these one at a time and I don't have a minimum order... I AM HAPPY to do this for the club , it does take a lot of my time contacting people and verifying their size and order, ordering the product, picking them up from the vendor, packing them for shipping, filling out tracking slips, running them to the post office, contacting members of their shipping progress and again verifying that they recieved them..AGAIN ,I recieve nothing from this...all proceeds go to Ventureriders .org....SO , with the HOLIDAY season fast approaching and still good riding in the south, I am asking all members to take a minute to check out the merchandise forum and hopefully give me a pm with your order.....I have been talking to the vendor on making up some dewrags with our name on them...when I hear back from him on wednesday, I will inform you on the progress of this venture....thanks and ride safely...:fnd_(16):
  5. *********** Update: All items are spoken for several times. I am in the process of answering PM's. Wow, stuff moves fast when the price is right! I've got a few things just sitting around collecting dust and thought I would offer them up for anyone who wants to cover shipping. 1. Stock standard windshield. In good shape with no scratches. I switched to a showchrome and no longer need it. 2. Clarion cd changer. Was installed when I purchased and I did not like it. I skipped on bumpy roads. Someone suggested mounting on rubber washers but it was taking up valuable space anyway. If you want to try it let me konw. 3. Left side saddle bag liner by Bestem. I purchased the 3 bag set but I keep the tools / raingear / rags etc... in the left bag and I have never used it. I only use the right side and trunk bags. Send me a PM with your location and I will find the best shipping quote.
  6. This is an open notice to those who would like an item from St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. The demand hasn't been high for these items that I have so if anyone is interested in having one please check this thread. All I ask is that you pay the priority mail shipping charge to get it to you. You can go to this thread to check out the pictures and the shipping costs. 7. This is for all those that participated in any of these events, either by attending or making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I have received a large number of items for our participation in Crusin' for St. Jude. Here is a list of what I received. These are not the same design as last years items, they change them yearly, so you wont have a duplicate to last years items if you have them. I couldn't take a decent picture of the pin, but it is the same design as the logo on the shirt and hat. 12 Hats 20 Pins-----(pin size is 1 3/4 x 3/4) 10 Med. T-Shirts 8 Large T-Shirts 12 X-Large T-Shirts 7 XX-Large T-Shirts 3 XXX-Large T-Shirts Last year we had an auction to raise funds for St. Jude and we were very successful in doing so. Our Grand total was $3,450.00 and we hope to do better next year. But this year I am going to offer these items up to the folks who helped make this possible. So if you would like to have one of these items, all I am asking you to do is cover the shipping to get it to you. Thats it, just the shipping charges. I prefer to use USPS Priority mail, it is the easiest and fastest way to get them to you. So if you want a hat or a t-shirt and use pay-pal for making your payment and it is shipping to a domestic address in the U.S. the shipping charge will be $6.00. If you want a pin I will send those by regular mail and that shipping charge will be $1.00. Shirt or hat to Canada will be slightly higher, $8.00 and the pin will be $2.00. These will be available on a first come basis. And I would like to limit it to 1 item per person so there will be enough to go around. Thats it folks, we had another great year. If there are any extras left over after the smoke clears I will make them available to everyone, but I dont expect there to be any, I didnt have any left over from last years effort. So dont delay. My PayPal address is...............partin_guy@yahoo.com If you would like to use snail mail to pay me, send me a pm and I will give you my mailing address. Thanks again for all the support VR members give in supporting St. Jude Children's Hospital..................:clap2::clap2: Here are the shipping charges again. U.S. Shipping via USPS priority mail. Hats and Shirts.............................$6.00 Pins via 1st class mail...................$1.00 Canada shipping............................... Hats and Shirts..............................$8.00 Pins.......................................................$2.00
  8. Ladies and Gentlemen! Believe it or not replacement battery cables for the First Gens are available once again. I just put an ad in the classifieds with the details. Short version: $35 shipping included to US or Canada. Money back guarantee. Sorry for the delay folks, but they are here and ready for winter upkeep. Thanks everyone! Paul

    Tire order

Decided to try out the Elite 3 and when I went to order at southwestmoto I got a cetificate problem eror with the web site. I over-road it the first time but then there was an eror and the order didn't go thru. Tried again but got nervous about the message about a fake site stealing identity so I tried to look up a number to call and since they decided not to take phone orders they don't list their number. Well I have ordered 3 sets of tires from them and know that squid always recomends them because of what they did for Charlie, but they just lost my buisness, sorrry. First off you can't contact them about a problem since they have changed owners, second their prices are a bit high even with free shipping on 2. I tried american motorcycle tires next and the order went thru at app.$239 with shipping compared to 248 at southwest. Then got a notice the the rear tire is backordered for 3-4 weeks, they let me cancel the order. Checked another site and the rear was out of stock. Then denniskirk who I have used a bit over the years and last I looked they scarred me with that $5 per tire charge. Well it turns out that is the shipping and still was cheaper than anyone else at $224 total and change for both tires.
  10. Well folks as much as I hate to do it I'm going to have to raise prices on the lift adapters. Between being squeased 3 ways on costs I really don't have much choice. Cost of steel, shipping, and shipping materials have been going up crazy this last 6 months or more. This being said, new prices will go into effect Aug 17, 09. Any orders prior to this date will be $10 less or at the current costs as they have been. Freestanding adapters will be $145 and Standard lift adapters will be $95. As before these prices include shipping anywhere in the USA. Canadian orders will have added costs . PM or e-mail me for quotes on shipping to Canada. Thanks to all previous customers, Larry
  11. I have a used 1stgen. rear shock. It was graciously given to me by Gibvel, and I no longer need it. I will do the same. Free to whoever wants it. Either you pay the shipping or we make arrangemnts for a relay. Let me know
  12. Dan here from Cajun Country, Welsh, LA. Rode an 07 Honda Shadow Aero 750 as a commuter 60 miles round trip every day for last year and 2 months to work. Put 14,900 during this time, had 1,200 on her when I bought her. First 2 wheeler I owned since 1972 in the Air Force. Just won the bid on an 07 Royal Star Tour Deluxe with 900 miles, was purchased new in October 2008! I plan on having it shipped from upper Keys (about 60 miles S of Miami) to Welsh LA. Is it reasonable to expect the seller to handle the title transfer, warranty transfer, and be available for the shipping company? Any other hidden agendas I need to be aware of for this project? Any suggestions on shippers? I would love to fly down and ride her back the 1,100 miles for the first ride but work schedule have too many time constraints for last minute 3 day road trip, and this is a big step from a 750 to a 1300 v4, and an additional 250+ lbs. Although I have been flying since 1970 with over 1800 hours in the air and have operated many different and complex pieces of heavy and light equipment during my 27 year as a farmer raising rice and soybeans on 750 acres ..... OK maybe I will reconsider riding back if I am able to find reasonable airline tickets this late in the game. Enough of my rambling, can anyone offer help on my shipping questions? Thanks and look forward to participating in this forum. dan
  13. Ok all you old timers can you name this bike? It is quite possible that I was just offered one of these for $35.00 It was running when the guy bought it but there was a part missing from the carb. He doesn't have the time or inclination to mess with it. To be honest I only saw it once and I remembered what he called it so I was able to find this pic. It was funny how it came about. Let's say he collects things. Some would say he is a pack rat. He has 6 shipping containers and a 40 x 60 metal building stacked and packed with stuff he has "Collected" I commented on his collection and he said name it and I bet I have it. I said "Moped" and he said yep right there and sure enough 10 feet inside the door we were by stood a bike like this one. I was talking to him today and out of the blue he offered it to me for what he paid for it. I said how much and he said $35 bucks. Any guesses?
  14. For a mixture of a birthday gift and Christmas gift (a little late - but I'm not complaining) my girlfriend decided to get me a set of these (Kuryakyn longhorn offset dually iso highway pegs --- Look up Longhorn offset 7980 and they come up). Well, I was the one that surprised her when I picked up a set for my self. SO, long story short, I do not need two sets and to save on the stupid 'restocking' fees and whatever they call them I was wondering if there was anyone in here that was looking for a set. These have the 1" clamp, which is correct for the RSV. I'll post these in the classifieds in a few days (I am still waiting for the ones that she ordered to arrive. They shipped out today and when she found out I got a pair for myself it was too late to cancel the order). They will be new, in box, never opened, I'll just put them in an appropriate shipping container and send it to you if you want them. - $132.00 and I'll cover shipping (to the US - If someone from Canada is interested let me know and I can figure out how much extra it will be to ship this north of the border -- or if someone wants them and is in Vancouver, I can deliver them when I am up there in a few weeks on business).

Right now it's at $1000 and if I didn't already own a few VR's I'd be in the mix. Bike shows promiss. Only 19,000 miles... Since my links don't ever seem to work Ebay search for # 110404430985.

  22. My poor venture has been on the jack for 11 days now. Ordered the BFG tire from these guys. Recieved order confirmation showing my shipping and billing addresses, and it stated I would receive tracking number within 48 hours. After 10 days of no response to emails and phone messages for a tracking number, they finally called me back. The cannot ship the tire because my SHIPPING address is different from the BILLING address on my credit card!!!! I live in a commercial district. All mail goes to the POB. The guy wanted me to change the BILLING address on the credit card to my SHIPPING address. I told him that if I did that, I would never receive my bill, and to cancel the order. I placed a new order at DiscountTire.com. They are out of stock, and it may be 14 days before they get it. I really need my bike. I never thought the BFG would be this much trouble to get. I guess all you other guys bought them all.
  23. Here are a few pics of the detachable bracket i'm manufacturing & selling. This bracket has Rosette thumbscrews which make the on/off process quick & easy. There are six (6) one inch slotted holes to make the bracket fairly universal, although you may need to drill your own holes if your tour pak can't make these holes work. Can be purchased in black powder coat to match the bikes framework, unfinished (either one $199.00 + shipping) chrome plated ($325.00 + shipping). the Rosette thumbscrews will screw directly into the existing threaded (chrome capped) hole on either side of fender bracket. http://i42.tinypic.com/1hcpk0.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/5n55pu.jpg

    Drivers Backrest

I guess I was having a good day last week because I ordered a drivers backrest for my RSTD, the only problem is its for a Venture. Than to make things worse I tried to install it not knowing it was for a venture that didn't work, so any body out there needs a Diamond R drivers backrest I have one for sale. The only thing wrong with it is I ground the points off the part that bolts to the bike, it doesn't affect anything. Will sell for 190.00 plus shipping cost me 248.00 with shipping or will trade. Thanks:doh:
  25. Back in March I took a perfectly good Avon (Stock size) off the front of my RSMV because we had planned a 3,000 mile ride to Key West dragging the trailer and I wanted to start with a new tire. There was snow on the ground the day we were to leave and we ended up caging it Bottom line - I have an Avon that I think has at least 3,000 miles left in it and it is yours if you want it. Just cover the UPS shipping. In fact, if you get the tire and it's not what you expected, I'll reimburse the shipping charge. How can you beat that?? OR come by Little Rock, Arkansas, and pick it up. No charge at all. This ought to be a fantastic deal for any of you guys who mount your own tires or have a friend to do it for you. I don't have that option and that's the reason the tire is available. Lynn
