  2. I am a member of Amazon.com Prime. This means I get free 2-day shipping and anything overnight for $3.99. My brother was hospitalized, I realized I might need to ride there, and my front tire was in iffy shape. I bought an Avon Venom 150/80-16 71H (front) for a good price ($145.80, near the cheapest I found) and selected overnight shipping for $3.99. It is out for delivery now. That $149.79 total is way cheap when you consider overnight shipping of a 16 pound tire. Heck, it's cheaper than Dennis Kirk by $10 and Jake Wilson doesn't carry the tire. Another option to consider if you have Amazon Prime and need something quick. I'll let you know if the tire comes out of date, as cheap tires have been known to do. Dave
  3. The first round of auctions for Cruisin' for St. Jude are completed and here is a list of the winners and the amounts. If you are one of the winners that won more than one auction, you do not need to send the shipping fee for each auction, I will combine them all in one package for a single shipping fee. For the pins that would be $1.00 and for the others it would be $5.00. I am using USPS Priority Mail Flat rate shipping for everything except the pins, those will go regular mail. I thank you and so do the Kids at St. Jude.
  4. I saw an interesting product on www.woot.com this morning. If you are not familiar with woot, they sell one product a day for really good prices - generally refurbs and/or overstocks. $5 shipping for anything. I am not associated with woot in any way, just buy things from them periodically. Today, they have a solar battery charger. The description claims it to be a standard charger with float charging technology. Appears to be a 'battery tender' type product that runs on sunlight. Claims to work with gel type batteries also. I thought this might be nice for some folks who store their bikes in sheds without electricity. It is too large to be a travel charger (over 3 feet long). $100 + $5 shipping. If interested, just go to the website and it is on the opening page. RR
  5. Don I didn't know how to delete thread. Found Progressives for 65 bucks but 15 bucks shipping is high for them. Posted thread before I looked at shipping. Don't know if I would pay that much. http://www.ebay.com/itm/83-93-YAMAHA-Venture-Royale-Progressive-Suspension-Front-Fork-Springs-Kit-/400267987146?hash=item5d31d4c8ca&item=400267987146&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr
  6. This is to see if there is any interest in having engine side covers made. The part #s would be: 41R-21731-00-00 and 41R-21741-00-00. They are a 1st gen part only. Will be made from Mirror Finish 18 gauge Stainless. The right side will not be dimpled for the screws, but I figure a couple of nylon washers glued in place should work just fine. Cost would be about $100.00 for the pair and may include shipping. It maybe cheaper, depending on how many we need. We just worked out a maximum price today. The ones shown are chrome, so for identification only.
  7. These are used to set torque per manual specs on all Ventures. $25.00 including US shipping $28.00 including Canada shipping. Every where else $31.00. Actually they have been available fairly continuously, but I got a new batch in today. The bike is under going brake surgery this winter and needs your support. These make really great tree ornaments. and can be used as stocking stuffer. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3582&title=steering-head-bearing-ring-nut-wrench&cat=33 Gary
  8. Can you say SCAM????? I had my hopes up that I might be able to pick up a Valk at a very favourable price but the return E-Mail seems to be screaming "SCAM". This is the return message: the bike is still for sale and is in excellent condition as you can see from the pictures. Some minor plastic scratches,no accidents or any kind of damage and it has a clear title. If you are interested in buying it, the price is $****.00 and this is with shipping costs to your location included. I'm selling the bike because I can't use it due to my new job (I work as a casino dealer on a cruise ship) and I don't have anyone in the US to whom I can give it. All documents, including owner's manual, clear title and a bill of sale on your name will be provided along with the bike. Also about payment and shipping I will use only eBay Vehicle Protection Program so we can both be protected. If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name and address so I can initiate the deal through eBay. Man, I hate that!
  9. Just an FYI, I bought a set of Shinko 230 tourmasters from Bikebandit today for $119 delivered to my door. That is with free shipping and 10% discount for being an AMA member. They are even throwing in a free set of Motion Pro tire irons. Seemed like a pretty good deal.
  10. Had this left over. Before I throw it in the trash, is this something any of you Hams could use? Free to a good home, you pay shipping...
  11. 25% Off Use Code: RP25OFF during the check out process. In addition, all orders over $75.00 receives FREE SHIPPING! Offer Expires: 11/20/11
  12. Placed an order with Cruiser Customizing 2 weeks ago. I used them a few times in the past but had some issues with them back then so I didnt order from them anymore. I tried them again thinking that maybe things improved, ordering a Kuryakyn chrome caliper cover from them but 12 days later it still hasn't arrived. The answer they provided via emails only shows they have no real desire at true customer service. If they think a 4 week window for parts delivery is ok then there are plenty of other sources out there for parts. Out of all the sources that i have ordered from, CC seems to be one of the worst. I have used Jake Wilson, Competition Accessories, Phat Performance just to name a few and plenty on Ebay and none of them took that long for a part to arrive. Ok, just venting here...... The pasted item below is from our emails: first is down at the bottom and gos up. Why you would ship a domestic order through International mail makes no sense. The 200 to 300% reduction in shipping costs are on your end, not mine. My $8.00+ shipping charges most certainly would have covered shipping via Priority mail. And there is a tracking # on my order. The part has sat in Orlando Fl for 3 days now. If the answer you provided was supposed to make me feel better it did not. Your shipping policies are atrocious. No item should take 1-4 weeks to be delivered domestically. From: "orders@CC" To: ruffrider99@bellsouth.net Sent: Mon, October 24, 2011 12:32:35 PM Subject: RE: Customer Request: Order Status (LTK494019862879X) Good evening, Your order shipped 10/12/2011 via International Mail. There is no tracking number on these shipments, we do this to dramatically reduce the cost of shipping (sometimes 200% -300%). Shipping International is generally 1-4 weeks for delivery but can take up to 8 weeks just depending on customs. If you do not receive it by the 8 week time frame please let us know and we can review the shipment and reship if necessary. On a side note I believe we are currently trying to use another service as we are aware of the problem as well. I apologize for the wait and hope to have better service for you in the furture. Did you hear? Cruiser Customizing now has gift certificates! A great way for you to get them EXACTLY what they want. Individual Style. http://www.CruiserCustomizing.com ______________________________________________ Subject: Customer Request: Order Status Contact Information Email: ruffrider99@bellsouth.net Order Number: W20691952 My question is about: Order Status Additional Info: I placed an order on Oct 12 and as of today, 12 days later it still has not arrived. The shipping method you use is one of the worst systems I have ever seen. Why you use DHL is lost on me. As a Postal Service employee im aware of all the shipping methods. The delays are huge when you ship items through DHL. For what I paid for shipping you could have just shipped it in a small Priority box and it would have been here within 4 days. I have ordered plenty of bike parts over the years and the only time I ever had trouble was when DHL was involved last year with another company. This could certainly keep me from buying any more parts from CC in the future. Standard Parcel Post shipped directly through the Post Office would be faster then DHL.
  13. Anyone have and old RSV stock windshield they want to get rid of. I will pay for shipping of course. Can have scratches but no cracks above the mounting area please. Thanks
  14. I don't own a 2nd Gen so I'm not in the market for anything from this seller, but I've seen this often on E-Bay and now here and I always wonder WHY NOT? Boxing it up would be the same price! The Buyer usually has to pay the shipping (and deal with customs)...so what's the problem? It is always preferred to use USPS instead of UPS or FedEx to avoid the outragous brokerage fees they charge to cross the border. That means you have to pay the postage up front....but you can always have the buyer pay the cost before you ship. So why do sellers DISCRIMINATE against us poor Cannucks? (Did I just open the floodgates for a world of digs?)
  15. BaggerShield's new tall and wide RSV shield is now in stock and ready for shipment. Picture of the shield is below. This shield adjusts from 10.5" to 16.5" and is 4" wider than the stock model. All Venturerider.org members receive 10% off plus free priority shipping to anywhere in the US and Canada. Shipping only takes 2 days from time of order in the US and 4 days to Canada! Give me a call to receive your forum discount or send me a PM to get you discount code to use at http://www.baggershield.com http://i1204.photobucket.com/albums/bb402/BaggerShield/Dealer%20Info/StarVen105-165.jpg
  16. I was wondering if one of you still have a good TCI for the 84. I think mine might be bad, and don't know where I can get one to try. If you are willing to lend me one, I will cover shipping
  17. Found K&N filters for RSV on ebay for US $65.41 And free shipping Here's the ebay item number:390336609304
  18. It's a dark day here at the Nelson household. My son Dylan won an Apple IPad II in a raffle. He doesn't have it yet, they are shipping it to him and he is supposed to have it by April 1st. I told him he could keep it but it can't leave his room.
  19. I bought my 2004 midnight RSV fall of last year. It's a well maintained stock bike just as it left the factory. I knew it would need accessories, but I got a great deal so that didn’t bother me. I found in a thread on this site that someone referred to MotorSportsSuperCenter.com. So I tried it and what a great deal. I received 26% off my order and was able to combine shipping. The retail of my order was $567.65 and I saved $147.61 WOW. I wish I could thank the person that left this tip but I can’t remember the thread I found it in. Also on their web site, you could go to checkout and see the shipping cost without entering any payment info. The only down side was they wanted the entire order at their building to ship in one box, which is why they could offer a combined shipping rate. It took 11 days after the order was placed for UPS to drop it off at my house. Not a big deal for the cash I saved. I was fortunate to find this, so I hope someone looking for parts/accessories reads this and saves some cash. The accessories I order were all genuine Yamaha. Now I have plenty of "Safety Chrome". The only other thing I want is a wider windshield with a vent. Then bring on the sunshine a warm days.
  20. Not to pick on PartShark, but shop around and don't assume online parts are cheaper than getting them from the dealer. Had to get a new rubber band holder for the bottom of the sidecover. PartShark lists for $12.38 plus shipping. Dealer price delivered for pickup $10.70. I was pleasantly surprised and thought I would share my amazing find.
  21. One of my front turn indicator beauty rings (chrome ring between the lens & housing) split over the winter. Wondering if anyone has an extra. I have one turn indicator visor, free (including shipping) for any member that needs one. PM me with info and I'll get it shipped off to you. Thanks, Jim
  22. I have a source for the solid motor mounts for the 1st Gen and Vmax. Made from 6061 Aluminum, all six pieces as 1 set. At this time I would like to see if there is an interest from folks. Pricing is $50.00 for each set including shipping to 48 states, I will need to check on shipping to our Canadian members. All orders would be shipped from me and a Paypal account setup to receive funds, those that wish not to use Paypal arrangements can be made accommodate you. AT THIS TIME this is just an offer, if there is enough interest (20 sets) I will get things moving forward. My plan is to offer these to be delivered in time for a great winter project. If you have priced these you know this is a good deal. I am not interested in making a personal profit from the group buy. All of you have offered me plenty of support and knowledge that can never be repaid. So if interested please respond by sending a personal message via the forum. If you need more info my telephone number is listed in my profile. Thanks to all of you. Steve Neal
  23. I lost one of the screws for the side cover. Part # 90149-06298-00 I have found a couple of suppliers but some want $13 to ship a $1.44 part. Are they any places with reasonable shipping for a couple of these? Its a real pain searching because most of them you have to set up an account to find out what the shipping charges are. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  24. I just bought a pack of 25, 10mm copper crush washers from McMaster Carr. Cost was $7.61 + $4.39 shipping, total of $12.00. McMaster P/N is 97725A200 for 25. If you are going to do brake work and remove the lines, these should be replaced. The items I received looked identical to what is used on bike. I counted 23 of these washers on my 1st gen. The price at partshark.com was $1.38 each + shipping. Total for 23 would be $31.74 before shipping cost Part # is WASHER,PLATE - 90201-10118-00 Same part # is used on 1st & 2nd gens. Gary
  25. I have an old Ungar UTC-200 Soldering station that I've been trying ti find new tips for. I know Weller used to carry them but it appears that they have discontinued them. I've had this thing for almost 20 years and it still works great, but I don't want to have to go out and buy a new one just because I can't find tips. I found a seller on ebay that had some U9010 tips that I was looking for in specific. They have a very fine point on them for smaller work. I save the old ones and file them down to make them better suited for other specific jobs. I bought all he had while I still could. That came up to $15.96 for 4 tips and free shipping to boot. Now in contrast, I also found a used one that the joker wants $12.74, and $21.16 for shipping. Umm... lets see now... a brand new one for $3.99 w/free shipping, or a used one for $33.90? Now I believe in free enterprise and all, but I think this guy is just a predator waiting to take advantage of someone who might be a bit ignorant or naive. I'm not really sure why I posted this, I think it's just a reminder for all of us to watch out for the crooks lurking on ebay. Or maybe it's just because I'm bored. Bill
