1. I have found a 2009 RSV with a just installed Hannigan Trike kit here locally, they are asking $21,900.00 for it, yet they have a 2006 RSV with the same for 27,900.00. They are closed today, but I am thinking that the 21,900.00 is a typo. If not I may be jumping on it. Couple of pics attached.
2. Anyone familar with this gauge and know if anyone that has mounted to a 2nd gen rsv? It seems to cover everything i want, tach, temp and accurate speed.
3. Removed these from my RSV this week and replaced with OEM mufflers. I can actually hear the music when I ride! I would like to try to identify the mufflers I pulled before trying to sell. The pictures show them mounted and unmounted. There are no markings of any kind. The bracket that extends to the side to fit them to the RSV is welded and held with a bolt. Any ideas?
4. Be prepared to see a 2008 RSV Red/Black Voyager Conversion passing through VA, PA & NY. This Friday (8/10) I'm riding from Richmond, VA to Rochester, NY. I prepped my bike so all you see is a quiet smiling guy riding though... oil changed rear brake pads replaced final drive gear oil changed Voyager kit re-aligned OEM mufflers from Canada installed Nankang Rear Tire replacement for terrible Avon Voyager light wiring re-done CD changer/player installed fixed broken right rear turn-signal light Going up for a High School & Friends picnic in Hamlin, NY on 8/11. If anyone sees me, beep/wave to say hi! JohnB
5. Anyone install this on their RSV?
6. Here is my latest RSV completed project... (MTCVoyager off eBay) http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/member/5/2/e/6/highres_32721222.jpeg JohnB
7. I was looking on e-bay the other night and ran across K&N's for a RSTD. The numbers were different than the RSV and like $30 bucks less. I thought basicly they were the same bike except the fairing-gas tank-speedo deal. Looking @ K&N site they show the YA 1399 for both the TD and Venture. Maybe they had the years mixed up or something? Does anyone else make a filter for the RSV thats worth running? Unipro anyone run them?
8. Lary, your stainless steel horn bracket is finished first class. The only thing is that the bracket is approximately 5/8" to short on the ground bolt leg requiring the use of a spacer. Restoring a 99 RSV for a customer and found the above today. I personally think spacers are tacky. RIDER FIRST, HARLEY OWNER SECOND.......
9. I'll start with my Wifes 2008 V-Star Silverado and my 2003 Midnight RSV http://i39.tinypic.com/311xv9v.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/345d6oz.jpg
10. On vacation with the G/F in Colorado and I've been getting some great riding in on my 'new' '03 RSV. We did an overnight from Conifer out west to Glenwood Springs. Awesome ride, but the last 20 miles or so through the canyons is breathtaking. Anywhere west of Denver is just ripe with great rides out here, you just about can't go wrong. I'm planning on riding Independence Pass next month, weather permitting. Short update on the RSV...I've only had her a few months and usually just ride her 4 days a month when I'm out here in CO. I got to know her better this week and liking it more every time out. I switched to Synthetic in the motor and the rear end last month and there was an improvement in the whine. It's still there, but between reducing it some, getting used to it some, and learning to manage it, it's not the annoyance that it was at first. I also did the exhaust mod where you dremel the pipe and push it over to make the exhaust flow through...happy with it. A couple other quick observations on the RSV...I feel it's the best bike in high winds that I've ever had. Short of a typhoon, wind is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned. I also felt it did really well in the rain. I got caught with a shorty helmet on and was able to maintain some decent visibility. Ride on!
11. I'm not lazy, just don't want to cause myself "problems"!! Is someone within a few hundred miles of Columbia, SC skilled in lowering the front of the RSV,, and would do my bike, for a fee (or donation to a favorite charity)? I would like to get my 2009 RSV front lowered some (say 1") and would like a skilled person do the work. I live in Columbia SC and would travel a distance if you are skilled in doing this. (I had my RSTD done and,, I like it!) The rear is already lowered 3/4" (half of the Barons kit). But I would prefer to get that back to stock height and drop the front (not do the small tire thing). So, if this sounds like fun to you, let me know. PM me or post here, let me know. Have bike, will travel. Mike Griswold, Lugoff, SC 29078, just off I-20. mikeginsc@bellsouth.net 803-420-3388

Hi, Does this trailer have a 5 or 6 pin round connector on it. What is the best way to hook it up from the bike side 04 RSV. Thanks Kelly
13. Where can you get points for the fuel pump for an '07 RSV? Saw it on youtube. tew47
14. I have had a Kuryakyn Triple Whammy on my Road Star for a couple of years now and have been looking for one for the RSV. Problem is they don’t make a plug and play Triple Whammy and I’m really not in the mood to cut on any more wires on the RSV. It is not available for the RSV as a plug and play. So anyway I bought a wire harness from a member here Steve Kawalcky aka M61A1MECH on the forum and in the course of the conversation I asked if he could build an adapter to plug the Road Star Triple Whammy into the RSV. After some discussion and pictures going back and forth an expertly build adapter arrived at my house. I plugged it into the RSV and wa-la I had triple whammy taillights on the RSV. Everything works the same as on the R* and I couldn’t be happier. No cut wires and things worked perfectly. I ordered another Triple Whammy for the R* so I will have that added safety feature on both motorcycles. If you are interested you will need to buy a Kuryakyn part number 4602. This will come with lenses red bulbs for the turn/running lights. If you have already converted to clear lenses and red bulbs you will need a Kuryakyn part number 4612 this not come with the lenses or bulbs. If you shop on line you can find better prices than on Kury’s site. Thanks to M61A1MECH for all your help. Kent P.S. If you don't know what a Triple Whammy is go to Kuryakyn web site and you can see what I'm typing about.
15. Sorry to ask this and yes I know there is a sheet but for some reason my Microsoft Office has a problem and will not open it. Anyway I need the filter number for a RSV I wanted to cross it over but can't so if someone could give me maybe the Napa # and maybe a couple more I would appreciate it. Thanks Rick
16. I have a 2009 RSV OD at 30,000 I think my fuel pump has gone out. I can ride a quarter of a mile and then it will shut off as if it is not getting fuel. I stop and tap on it and it will go again. If your fuel line is disconected and no fuel in the lines should your fuel pump run and run or should it shut off after a few seconds. As this is what mine is doing. Thanks for reading this. Hope I can get some answers. By the way my bike is still under warranty, I just hate to take it to the dealership. Hal
17. A brief history...had a new 06 RSTD midnight for 3 yrs and got the urge to try an '07 ST1300. Which the wife stated she would not ride it...looked to Tokyo. Which led to another m/c. Looking for either a good used RSV or a HD Glide, RK, I found an '08 RK near Beaumont with 4700 miles before I could find a RSV within 200 miles for the right price. Needs some TLC from sitting up, but other than that all checks out. Still gonna hang out here, don't post to much or do any meets, but I do enjoy reading all the goings on. Yes, it does have the factory mufflers and yes I'm keeping them...I'm not into loud.
18. I bought this really nice aftermarket headlight that was advertised as fitting an RSV using my existing bracket. Problem is you have to remove the mounts that are welded onto the metal headlight case of the stock headlight and glue them onto the plastic housing of the replacement headlight. Not wanting to destroy my stock headlight before I fit the new one, and not wanting to pay $50 plus shipping from Pinwall, I thought I would check to see if anybody has a broken one setting around that I can canabalize for the mounts...
19. Hey guys I've got my 99 RSV all apart and I am ready to get it painted. I live in Hickory NC and am looking for someone who would do a good job at a reasonable price. Any suggestions? Also, what in you opinion is a reasonable price to have all the parts painted from a RSV [front fairing, lower fairings, tank, side covers, fenders and saddlebags(not doing the tour pack)]. I want everything sanded and painted back in only one color. So a little help on pricing and any painter suggestions will be appreciated! Pics will follow afterwards.......
20. After 10 years and almost 84k, I traded in my 01 RSV for 2012 Goldwing. I've been waiting for Yamaha to build a new touring bike, but I think we all know that isn't going to happen soon, so I finally pulled the trigger on the Honda. It is a completely different bike but I like it. I've had this web site as my home page since it started, so I'm not going anywhere and I still have a few RSV parts around. Plus we have a Goldwing section.
21. To my surprise, as I was driving home from work the other day, there it is, a 2008 charcoal gray( i think that is what they call it) RSV, just 1/2 mile from where I work. I know the guy that lives there, but didn't know he owns a Venture. Now I know why. Apperantly it spent most of its time in the garage. It only has 3300 miles on it. He is asking $9500.00. It is an S model, but has no extra bling. Not even a luggage rack. If anyone is interested Drop me a pm. I will take pic's. He is not doing any advertising at this time.
22. Ok so here's the deal. I bought a 99 RSV 2 years ago up in Toledo, OH. It had been totaled out and needed some TLC. It had been sitting in the garage for like 6 or 7 years. The guy's son in law tried to put back together a lot of it, but there was still a lot needed. I have got just about everything I need to get her back together......at least all the big stuff. The problem is the guy that tried to put everything back together used common nuts and bolts from the hardware store and I have noticed a lot of smaller things missing like spacers, rubber pieces, various screws and bolts, ect. What I would love to do is find someone somewhat local to me that has an RSV for comparison. That way we can comb through the bike and know everything that is needed to complete it......any takers? I am open to suggestions......
23. Just wondering if anyone knows if there is an upgade available to make RSV breaks anti locking
24. Here's a pic of a very nice looking RSV ... but there is something wrong with it (hope ya don't mind me snagging the pic from the MD posting). In fact, every 2-colored RSV has the same thing wrong with them (at least IMO). Take a look ... can you see it? Now scroll down and you'll see what I'm talking about. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Waddya think? I've not once yet seen where anyone has made this color change mod yet it's probably one of the first things I would have done.
25. Will the stock mufflers off an 08 RSTD fit an 09 RSV? When I got my RSV they already had the Harley R/K mufflers on them and they are a bit too loud for me... The OEM part #s are not the same, but I am thinking they are the same...... Thanks
