  1. I took delivery of a new leftover 2007 Royal Star Venture. I am so pleased with this motorcycle. The Venture is my 21st Bike and I absolutly love this machine! Thanks Yamaha! Happy Venture Rider
  2. Files Updated on 10/28/2009 Minor corrections done to both schematics. Text realigned for easier reading Gary I have completed the 1999-2009 Royal Star Venture schematics. The 99-09 Yamaha Royal Star Venture Wiring Diagram Rev B file shows all the connectors and resembles the wiring diagram in the 1999 Yamaha Royal Star Venture service manual that is referenced in the Second Gen and Royal Star Technical Library on this site. The 99-09 Yamaha Royal Star Venture Simplified Circuit Diagram Rev B file is the complete wiring for the bike in a much simpler format. Since the wiring connectors are not shown, components can be rearranged in a more logical format that reduces the wires running back and forth. Some of the switches are shown in a more convenient manner also. This file would probably be the one most used for trouble shooting. I have also added a legend to this group to help users understand the schematics better. If you find anything that needs changed on these schematics, let me know & I will fix it. The files will look best when plotted at 11" x 17" size or larger. Office Max, Kinko’s and Staples as well as others can do this for you for a minimal charge if you want a printout. I paid $1.00 for an 11" x 17" color print at Staples. All you have to do is take the PDF file that you download to their store and they can print it. Double click on underlined blue text below to down load the schematics in PDF format. Files were created in Adobe Acrobat 7.0. 99-09 Yamaha Royal Star Venture Wiring Diagram Rev B.pdf 1999-2009 Royal Star Venture From 1999 Yamaha Royale Star Venture Service Manual. Pages 9-7 & 9-8. PDF file pages 485 & 486 of 487. This file combines the MCU, Cruise Control Unit, Cruise switch & D.C. outlet systems on page #1. 99-09 Yamaha Royal Star Venture Simplified Circuit Diagram Rev B.pdf 1999-2009 Royal Star Venture I did this one from a blank sheet of paper. I could not find anything similar in the information I had available. 99-09 Yamaha Royal Star Venture electrical info.pdf This file is a compilation of various sheets from the 1999 Yamaha Royal Star Venture Service Manual that would be helpful when working with electrical system. They are not modified in any way, just as they appear in service manual.
  3. Not my listing but nice set at a cheap price is on Ebay, motorcycle saddlebags new royal star std yamaha oem
  4. I purchased a 96' royal star tour classic that has the four individual pipes and was wondering if I could install a newer set of two into one exhaust from a newer bike such as a royal star tourer deluxe or venture. I know I might have to modify some but I can do. Thanks for info. Or where I might find some slip ons for what I have. Anyone Know????
  5. Looks like we are going to have to change out the clutch on my son-in-laws 1996 Royal Star, can any of you tell if it the procedure and parts will be the same as for the Venture? Thanks.
  6. I bought a plain royal star in 1996, and dressed it up from there, the way I liked it. I was single at the time, and spent quite a bit of time on the bike. Well, I met Beth, we hit it off, she wanted and deserved a better ride(air ride, tunes, intercom, comfy seat and backrest) and besides, the extra horsepower, looks, and electronic cruise did not hurt my feelings either. Couldn't afford to keep both, so I sold the royal star to a friend of mine, but said that I'd love to have it back if and when I could afford it. He traded it in on a Kawasaki Vulcan touring model, and I lost track of the bike, but was told by the dealership that he traded it in at that the fellow that bought it lived in a small town called Coboconk, which was about an hour and a half away, at the time. I always watched for the bike, hoping to meet the new owner, but it just did not happen. We moved back to the Windsor, ON area, and it's been 5 years since I've seen the bike. Well, guess what? While cruising the SCRC sites of the Ontario chapters, I found my old bike, and it WAS for sale. WAS being the key word, because today the most recent owner and I came to an agreement on my purchasing my royal star back. Isn't that something? What the heck are the chances of that happening??? Gotta love my wife, she is letting me go through with this. We are going to travel about 6.5 hours next Sunday and pick it up to bring back home!!! Here's a link to the pic of the bike that he had posted...... http://forums.delphiforums.com/Durham261/messages/?msg=1729.1 Isn't it sweet? So, now I have two royal stars in the garage, my old 96 plain jane, and the 04 Midnite Venture. I am certainly one lucky son of a gun!!! gunky
  7. I have seen this many times and I've been on the Yamaha site trying to figure it out and cannot seem to find it so I'm just going to ask. What is the difference between the "Royal Star Venture" and the "Royal Star Venture S"?
  8. Anyone know where I can get a rear disk for my 87? And is it the same as a range of other years of the Venture Royal? OEM is backordered, and wants a fortune- $900!
  9. Yamaha Billet Passenger Floorboard Backing Plates Smooth http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/images/STR-4NK27-03-01_150.jpg I had to edit this because ALL the Yamaha Dealers show a picture of the Tour Deluxe Plates for the RSV with an extra hole for the Ignition Switch on the left side. The only site with the right picture is Cruiser Customizing. Mine DO NOT have the extra hole and are the Smooth ones only. Near as I can tell these fit all RSVs, Royal Star Standards, and 96/97 RS Tour. If you don't have your ignition switch on the left plate these will fit. Otherwise you'd have to drill a hole for the ignition and would compromise the chrome. (not recommended) Here's the link to CruiserCustomising with reveiws. http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/detail.cfm?model_ID=0&Category_ID=6&manufacturer_ID=165&product_ID=3135 I have a bunch of these for sale and will be listing them on eBay for $75-85. I will sell them to members for $65.00 shipped in USA. They are all new and are the smooth model. Some of the packaging/cardboard is a little funky but the plates are not affected. I take Paypal and/or checks, my e-mail is theeddys@fairpoint.net I will consider trades and could use a new kickstand. I also have saddlebag guards for the Royal Star and a couple of Royal Star chrome rotor covers. I'll be away in Durango, Co for a week ... leaving Labor Day thru Sat.
  10. Ok I'll put this out to you guys cause I don't have a clue. Someone asked me if you can put a Royal Star mustang seat on a Venture. I told him I didn't thinks so. At least I never heard of anyone trying to do it... have any of you heard of such a thing?
  11. Does anyone have or have knowledge of the Royal Enfield line. I had a thumper (Meguro made by Kawasaki) in the 60s that I bought from a serviceman. It was a 250 and really could climb a hill. Also I had a 441 BSA that was a screamer for torque. I have been thinking of another.
  12. The windshield on my Royal Star has a hazy film on it. What is the best way to get a clear view again?
  13. I just got an 08 RSTD am searching for accessories. I keep running into discrepancies with model numbers. Anyone know the numbers or can point me to a site where I can figure it all out. Most recently I was searching for a Custom World Driver Backrest. One place has a part number 04-169 and it fits XVZ-1300 CTT ROYAL STAR 05-UP. Other sites have a 04-167 which says will fit 1300 Royal Star Tour Deluxe 05+ but when I search the 04-167 number all I find is that this part is for the Venture and they have nothing for the RSTD. Very confusing. I maybe incorrect, but think that the RSTD and the Venture aren't exactly the same in the seat mounting department. Can anyone shed some light on this. Tom Update: I found the answers I was looking for by going through the NADA book. Model numbers in there.
  14. I have been a rider for over twenty-five years. My wife and I would like to step up our riding and do more longer range trips. Currently I have a Road King Custom but considering the Royal Star Venture. Seems like everyone that has one is totally happy with it. Can anyone answer these questions: 1. What is the chance of a fuel injection version for 2010? 2. Generation I is 1983 thru 1993....What is gen II and is there a III? 3. Is the RPM range at 60mph about 2850? 4. Any riders have any pros or cons about this bike? Thanks for your help
  15. Had someone pull out in front of me again yesterday; I had my 3x5 foot flag in the wind but the man upstairs helped me out when I needed it. Sure glad I didn't have my "stuff" on board. Now for the rest of the story; I installed a bar and spotlights with switch on my Vstar 1100 (which has been traded in). I have not been able to find something similar for my 2004 royal star venture. I went to the website for cobra and even talked to them; they could not help me. I have confidence in venturerider.org; someone can point me in the right direction.
  16. I recently bought a set of used Yamaha leather slant bags, complete with mounting hardware. They were installed on a Road Star. I think the mounting hardward is different for a 1996 Royal Star but I can't find pictures to confirm. The Yamaha website just shows the bags and not the mounting brackets. Can someone show my pics of the brackets for a 1996 Royal Star?
  17. I have been riding a Roadstar 1600 for about 6 years now and want to move to a Royal Star Venture for some more serious Touring. My wife and I have had the Roadstar out to the Black Hills, Yellowstone, Badlands and Montana and it's fine but not a true touring bike and lacks some comforts. I don't like the look of Goldwings and at 6'5" they just don't have enough room for me. I love the look of the Royal Star and it seems roomier. I seem to recall that some airbox improvements have been made over the years giving a bit more power and torque to the Royal Star. Is there a year that is preferable? Are, say, the '06's and on better than the '99 through 05's? I figure this is the place to ask. Tom W. Illinois
  18. My name is Roger and I live in Michigan and I own a 1998 Royal Star Tour Classic. I love the bike but I'm having a serious problem with it that no one can seem to figure out. My Royal Star shuts down out of the blue on me. When I say shuts down the engine will die and I will have to coast to the side of the highway to restart it. Dangerous I know. Sometimes when it shuts down my hand will still have the throttle wide open and it will kick back on. I took it to a repair shop that replaced the intake rubber cleaned the carbs changed the plugs and fuel filter but the problem persist. My step dad says I have a ghost bike. One thing I noticed is that it will not shut down on me if it sits for a day then i ride the following day. If I ride two consecutive days it will shutdown down the second day. What in the world is going on? Please help!
  19. I finally gave in to temptation and bought a 2006 Royal Star Tour Deluxe/14000 miles. I was wondering if anybody had any advise or items of interests about this bike I should know about. I thought I got a good deal having paid $8000 for this classy machine.
  20. What year did the Royal Star's horsepower go from 75 to 95?
  21. I was wondering if anybody had made them i don't really want to shell out the dough for a set. If anybody has any plans for them let me know or where i can buy the plans at
  22. Can't find any specs on the net can anybody point me in the right way.1996 Royal Star. I Torqued it to about 58 IT was just a guestament

    Nice...

Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Military Motorcycle If Patton had designed motorcycles, he'd have built the Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Millitary ($5,545). A favorite among military enthusiasts the world over, the Bullet 500 is an eye-catching ride. And although it looks like something that rolled out of World War II, it handles just like a modern bike and has all the modern amenities, like a highly-tuned engine that has 23 BHP at 5500 RPM. Recent updates include lower emissions and better fuel economy (75 mpg). http://www.uncrate.com/men/images/2009/03/royal-enfield-military.jpg
  24. Any body put a set of 16's on there royal star was wondering what the cable specs were. 96 By the way
  25. Say Gang, I joined this group less than a week ago and am learning alot about Yamahas and have made several friends along the way. A few days ago I was seriously considering a 2000 Venture MM with 103,000 miles for $5k. While many of you helped with pro and con comments regarding a high mileage bike, the owner notified me that he has been sold the bike. Today, I found a 2000 Royal Star Venture with 33k miles in excellent condition for $6995. It is red with black seating. Now just to be sure, there is a difference between the looks of a Venture and Venture MM Limited Edition. Do both have the rear seat with stereo speakers, front fairing, etc.... On the web site, www.totalmotorcycle.com while looking at 2000 Yamahas, the site shows both the Road Star and Royal Star bikes with pics and specs. I would like to know from the pros, if the above bike is a good deal or not. It is much closer to home and I would not have to spring for out of state expenses to get the bike back to Texas. Thanks again everyone and have a great weekend. I hope to join you on the road soon. Best regards, Mike
