  1. My wife says the back rest on my 07 RSTD is too unconfortable. I must attend to agree. It sets you too straight up and makes you slide forward. I was wondering if anyone has the same complaint? If the rear back rest support bars and risers wher back another 2 inches I think it would be much more comforatable. Any suugestions? Thanks Mark:fingers-crossed-emo
  2. .... He shoots! … He-e-e SCO-O-ORES!!!! This will have you singing for the rest of the day! [nomedia=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8PfX4VS_Lo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8PfX4VS_Lo[/COLO"]YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.[/nomedia]
  3. My wife complains that the back rest on my 07 RSTD is uncomfortable. I attend to agree. It sits you too straight up and has no recline. The two back rest rizers also should be possioned about two inches rearward. Has anyone else have the issue? Is there a fix? Would a Venture rear seat set-up work on a RSTD? Any assistance to could afford would be helpful. Thanks
  4. looking to by driverbackrest for my 07 rstd. figure i would throw the question out, who has the best driver backrest? I'm 6'2" i am afraid of a backrest that will pushme to for forward. do they make a fully adjustable rest for my bike? thanks.
  5. Let me get this right I just plug in the head set and the rest is already built into my midnite venture
  6. Hey guys, Need to pick your brains for a minute. Does anybody know how to remove a decal from a painted metal surface without screwing up the paint? I put a new battery in my old Duc today and had the tank propped up. Fuel leaked out:thumbdown:and messed up the warning decal on the back of the tank. No harm done really PROVIDED that I can get the rest of the $%$##! thing and the glue OFF. Any ideas or suggestions will be Greatly appreciated!! Thanks all!!.......Hm...maybe a guy could take the "Yamaha" decal off the back of the trunk...put an HD logo there and REALLY confuse the Harley dudes:innocent-emoticon:

    Hey RandyA

Just think - if you try real hard you could write a book and make some real $$$! I'll let you tell the rest about the driveway "adventure". Steve
  8. Well my last day of college finally came yesterday. Now I get to rejoin the rest of the working folks.
  9. I've got a couple things from my '86 VR that I'm going to try to sell, problem is I have no idea how much they're worth. I was hoping you guys could provide some info. 1. Set of Air Deflectors with mounting brackets, good shape to be from a 23 year old bike. No discoloration and only minor scratches. 2. Driver's back rest with mounting brackets. Very good shape only issue is slight fraying in the leather where the back rest mounts on the bike. I've looked on ebay, but I can't find either of these things listed to get an idea for a price. Thanks for the help, Mick
  10. Less than 15 hours left and it's at $33.52. Back Rest on eBay
  11. I found this in my storage shed. It is the back rest off of my 83 venture that went to its well deserved rest. Now here is the deal. The first person that rides up to my door in Hephzibah GA gets it free. This is as good an excuse to go for a ride as I could come up with. Happy riding and hope to see someone soon. I will pm address and phone number to anyone who requests it. But you have to come and get it I will not ship as I want to meet the person who is getting the last piece of my baby.
  12. Does anyone here know of a Yamaha model called a "Vista"? I have seen on eBay a listing for a "1983 yamaha vista royal back rest", item number is 320435513668. I am wondering if this may fit a 1984 Venture? The back rest appears very similar to others I have seen listed for the First Gens. It is listed at an inexpensive price and I do not know if it will fit or not. I don't want to bid if it won't work. Also, How do others partners find sitting behind a driver's back rest. Is there enough room? Thanks. Dave
  13. I have started but need to know will a RSTD back rest fit or do I just need to make one? http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/MARKANDBINA/9-12-09022.jpg
  14. Thanks to Rick Butler's easy to follow instructions and pic's we saved some $$$$$ and decided to have a go at doing the seat mods ourselves. As I needed special bits here and there, on both seats and the back rest, we tackled them on the weekend AND it worked:clap2::clap2:Quickstep said the rider seat was more comfortable for him now, so that was a bonus as we were concentrating on getting it right for me! So thanks again Rick.

  16. Robbie wants to thank everyone who ask about her tonight. She really wanted to be there at the HUB dinner. She just felt it would be better to rest longer. As she said it is easier to move in the camper right now. Thanks again.
  17. Well, I rode about 120 miles yesterday. Longest trip so far on the 04. I'm wanting to make darn good and sure she don't have an issues that I need to know about. Well, I started to have troubles with my hands going numb. Starting with my little fingers and slowly spreading to the rest of my hand and fingers. I don't think it is from vibrations because I don't feel any. What you guys think? I'm worried it is the position of my hands in relation the my heart.
  18. i need a corbin back rest to fit the 5/8" square hole in a corbin seat. don't care what style as long as it is cheap. pm me if you have one. i moved my wifes forward for me now i need one to slip in when she rides with me.
  19. You bought are correct It wasnt a hard decision to make .You think I'd give up fishing . This bike has it all The Poor Man BMW thats what they are called up here,I had a 93 Klr before which was adequate around town BUT this new revamped version is made for Touring Supermoto What a Blast to ride , Boy can you lean into the corners scrap the boots and cruise 75-80 mph all day like nothing and presently Im getting 62 mpg Imperial gallon I still waiting to 2 accessories a taller windshield and a tank bag The engine is the only thing made in Japan The rest of the bike was made in Thailand Even the Dunlop K750 are made there .No wonder we have no jobs on this side. I was surprised that the speedometer doesnt have a dual reading all kms Hopefully I will see some of you next year But definately next year:dancefool:
  20. Got some time to upload some pics from Dons MD........... Enjoy. I will be posting the rest into the photobucket account and will post the link when completed.
  21. Hi Gang, Was wondering if anybody has installed the arm rest from DiamondR , I was wanting to contact who ever replies to this thread later today or tomorrow before I start this project if that would be possible. I now have the arm rest but wanted to ask a few Questions. Thanks in advance! Jeff
  22. Just got back in logged about 380 miles round trip for this ride, we had between 18 & 19 bikes, just depends on when and who counted them...........Met some new folks, lots of old friends, food was good as usual, we had a little rain and had to break out the rain gear about 15 miles out from our lunch stop, but after that no rain rest of the day. Looking forward to seeing the pics by Bobbie and the others that took them. Hats off to 86er and Blackjack, they did their usual awesome job putting this thing together.
  23. Six of us, with our wives permission, are heading down to the Dragon's Tail for a week of fun and frolic. We will be spending 4 or 5 days in the area. 2 Ventures, 2 Kawasakis, 1 Harley, and I'm not sure on the 6th. We will probably have to throttle the Ventures back so the rest can keep up:12101: Are there any roads or sights in the area that are "must sees"??? We leave here on May 16. John
  24. I just got my Kuryakyn Switchblade highway pegs. I like how adjustable they are, but there is one adjustment that I can't figure out: how do you stop them from spinning? The actual foot platform spins like on bearings. When I extend the heel rest, it swings down to point towards the ground. I don't see how the heel rest could be of any use. The pegs themselves are less supportive, since the turn so readily. Is there anyway to lock them in place at a particular angle? What am I missing?
  25. Hello All Looking for the following parts for my 88 Venture Royale Driver's Back Rest Assembly New Thermostat Thanks Terry
