Hi all! I have a really dumb question and I know it touches on my post yesterday about relays and driving lights but at the same time it is separate. Forum monitor please forgive me. I bought a relay and all of the parts I need to put a relay in. I printed a couple of different posts that had schematics and instructions. I purchased a simply on off push button type switch that is more robust than the one that comes with the Yamaha light kit. I have a couple of questions; (1) what is the difference between a simple switch that has two connect points and one that has three? Also I want to hook my lights up so they are on all the time whether I am using low or high beam. The official Yamaha instructions says" On all the time: Splice red power lead to red w/Yellow stripe lead (in natural nylon multi connector) My assumption is that what they are referring to is what the instruction I have read call "Switched Power" and that one wire goes from here to one terminal on the switch and one wire goes from terminal 86 of the relay on the coil side to the other connect point on the switch. Sorry, schematics confuse me. My apologies for the dumb question. Any help is appreciated Chris in Red Deer

Took most of the day to find a place where it would fit. But I finally got the Strebel horn mounted on the Virago. Not much open space for mounting accessories. No, someone is definately going to be getting a wake up call the next time they do something stupid. Had a guy blow a red light as I was starting into a left turn on the turn arrow. Saw him speed up as the light went to amber and just knew he wasn't going to stop. He hit the intersection after the lamp went red on him but he didn't even slow down. Guess you just can't fix stupid. But I'm sure gonna call it to their attention now.

Have been feeling bad the last couple of days . Last night I thought I had the flu.....fever ,chills, then sweats...every bone in my body aches and I've been light headed...I had a terrible nights sleep.....got up this morning awaiting Rockets arrival...I looked down at my right arm and noticed a red line from my finger (which I scraped the other day) extent completely up my arm and into my armpit...It was bright red and hot to the touch..... well, I still didn't feel any better, in fact I felt worse than yesterday.........long story short....a call to my dr. was in order and he insisted that I go to the ER....He was right...looks like I have lymphangitis often called blood poisoning........to think a little scrape the size of a ladybug could cause me so much trouble....well, I have a scrip from the dr. and started taking the HORSE pills this afternoon....still waiting on ROCKET...HE IS VERY CLOSE...about 1 hr away...hope these pills work fast.............

I haven't been able to find any specific info about the red lens covers that are on the aftermarket chrome trunk wraparound on this '86 I picked up. I'm not sure if they were made by Barons or not, but I think they are. Any of you 1st genners have some info on where to get some new red lenses?

Looks like I ended up with an extra torque wrench. It is in a red case. PM me with your address if it is yours and I'll get it mailed.

I came on to the bike at an intersection tonight, pounding through to third gear, and saw a little red light come on , on the lower left side of the instrument display. What was that? It only stayed on for a few seconds. then when I got home, the bike seemed to be running fast.

So I'm at a red light and I see in my rearviews this little red Suzuki car barrelling up behind me. It was apparent to me this gal was NOT paying attention to her driving as she was jacking her jaws on her cellphone. I hit the throttle and got out of her way just in time to avoid being seriously rear-ended.....And of course she blew the red light big time! She got t-boned so bad her vehicle was pushed across 2 lanes of opposing traffic and right onto the sidewalk. I parked the scoot in a safe location and helped her get out of her vehicle and sit down. No serious injuries except for a nice laceration on the side of her head from smacking her door frame. She was more concerned about the location of her cell phone than anything else! I don't even want to think about how bad it would have been if she had rear-ended me at the speed she was going! Gave the LEO my statement and I'm purty sure I'll be called to Court for the lawsuit she's gonna get slapped with by the driver who nailed her. Keep yer head onna swivel and check those rearviews often my friends! Boomer....who sez unleashing a group of pygmies in the Courthouse could prove to be pretty darn comical....

Two Red Ears A blonde with two red ears went to her doctor. The doctor asked her what had happened to her ears and she answered, "I was ironing a shirt and the phone rang - but instead of picking up the phone I accidentally picked up the iron and stuck it to my ear." "Oh Dear!" the doctor exclaimed in disbelief. "But, what happened to your other ear?" "The jerk called back!"

The headlight indicator in the monitor on my 1983 XVZ12TK is always on when I use low-beam. The headlamp itself is on and it shines brightly, but the indicator in the monitor LCD is on and, of course, so is the flashing red LED. On high-beam, no problem. I want the red LED to warn me of real trouble. I don't want to become so accustomed to its flashing that I ignore it. So, I use high-beam all the time and crank the lamp down with the manual up-down knob to a reasonably level just to keep that annoying red LED from flashing. What I can't figure out is why this should be so. I've changed headlamps, and no change in behavior. If you have a clue, I'd love to hear it.

It seems that some of the Saturns are plagued with horn button failure. It sticks closed, thus the horn blows continuiously. Well I am lucky enough to have bought a 2003 Vue with this malady. The problem is that the horn "button" is part of the $700.00 air bag. As you can guess I ain't gonna replace the airbag. I have found a schematic that shows a black and a black/white wire on the dash side of the steering column, which I wish to intercept. That way I can put a $2.50 "Rat-Shack" push button on the dash. Well I have cut in to the red wire in the airbag, which when grounded makes the horn blow. My problem is that I have checked EVERY wire under the steering column cover between the clock spring and the dash. NONE is common to the red wire in the air bag. as a temporary fix I have wired the switch to the red wire in the air bag and left it hanging out from under the air bag cover. Pray tell, do any of you know where the #28 wire is to be found going down the steering column?

I have an 89 VR and there is a little round, dome, red light on my faring, just to the right of the Cassette cover near the open vents that are around the handlebar. Can someone tell me what it is for. It is the size of maybe the diameter of a 10 gage wire. The Venture is a standard VR so there are no add on accessories. I checked the manuel with no luck.

Have the motor out of the scooter do do a few enhancements on it and had a problem last night. I was able to get 15 of the 16 head studs out of the block, and literally the last one I went to do would not budge with a double nut setup. Put Red Loctite on nuts and let it cure over night, and still wasn't budging. A little more torque with a pipe wrench and it let go. I was getting concerned. Never used Loctite to disassemble something before. Gary

After saying last year that im done with mods to the bike, some fools here come up with more parts to sell us and we, like sheep, shell out bucks for them. A simple tail light mod, like adding 2-30 red led strips to the rear as a run/brake light combo turned onto Sky Doc's R1 caliper conversion, which turned into replacing all brake/clutch lines with SS lines which turned into rebuilding the rear caliper and new HH pads, and only the best for me, buying that new 5.1 brake fluid which turned into replacing the rear valve cover gasket which turned into replacing the spark plugs which turned into flushing the cooling system which turned into adding Carbon Ones crash bar bracket, which is turning into 2 more smaller red led lights on the back to replace a burned out one, which will lead to an oil change and rear fluid change. Add a wash and wax and im done for good....... Yea Right!!

I just got a battery tender Jr. for my 2000 RSV. The directions say to hook up the positive to the battery and negative to the frame or vice versa. It doesn't offer what I thought was the obvious way to hook the thing up which was the red to red and black to black. How do you hook them up?

I found some real nice red running lights with chrome at the truck stop in Balwin, Fl. I then made a metal bracket to go on both sides:dancefool: of the license plate. The brackets mount to the screws that hold the license plate. I then drilled holes in the bracket and mounted the red running lights to each side of the license plate. It really increased the red lights from the rear and was very inexpensive to install. Ofcourse I had to hook up the electric to the lights which was right there in the rear of the bike. Several of my friends really liked the hookup and so Iinstalled them on there respective bike. "Not all Ventures", forgive me!! ha ha . I am attaching some pictures of the rear lights installed. Any questions please let me know. Hope it helps someone out there. If the photo does not come in with this post let me know and I will e-mail the photos to you. Dan4852@aol.com DanC

I am having a hard time tracking down what is draining my battery. After driving at speeds aroung 70mph for about 50 miles, while sitting at a red light, the bike just died. Can anyone please help me figure out what it could possibly be. Thanks a bunch.
