So with the new Zumo 665 out, and at a heavy price, any one have any comments yet if they are using this unit? Literally an all in one unit, GPS , XM statelite, blue tooth and all the feature of the 660. Looking for feed back before I start looking to lighten up my wallet on the price. Thanks

Howdy All; I'm trying to come up with a selling price for my 2006 Midnight Venture. It's basically stock with passing lights and LED brake,tail and turn signal lights added and it has 40,000 miles. A local dealer wanted to give us on $6200. Any ideas what our bike might actually sell for? Thanks!

I was thinking about getting a GPS unit for the bike with the ability to move it to the car as needed. The motorcycle specific ones are way out of my price range. I was looking at this one in the link and it looked pretty good at a decent price. Anyone have any pro or con info on this or similar units like the garmin 255? Is it worth the price? Has anyone compared the two models? I have it narrowed down to those two choices. With the price at my dealer they are about the same price so that is not an issue. We will use it to listen to music and intercom. We have the HJC IS-33 helmets, I believe they are called 3/4, have the flip-down face shield (not modular). Thanks! I have a 2007 RSV and have been thinking about changing my handlebars out with either the Tour Deluxe bars or the Flanders G2 bars.I have the GenMar risers now, but do not like how they hit the tank cowl and would like them to come back a little more.If any one has done this I would appreciate some input.I e-mailed Buckeye Performance and was sent a price list, but the total for every thing is close to $600.Does any one know if the Tour Deluxe cables and brake lines are 2 " longer than the Venture stock ones and will fit. I can buy stock cables and lines much cheaper than aftermarket.I would like to have the stainless braided ones, but out of my price range right now.Also, do we get a membership discount from Buckeye Performance ?

Guys/gals ... I'm contemplating buying a Valk. The one I'm looking at is Red/Black, has 23,000 miles (yes miles as it was imported to Canada from the US 3 yrs ago), has new rubber, new battery, mustang seat with driver backrest, passenger floorboards, a few chrome goodies. Looks very clean from the pics and the price is $10,500 Canadian. Any feedback would be appreciated. What mechanical things should I be concerned about with these bikes? (could I join the Wing section then? ) EDIT: Guess I'd better learn to spell Valkyrie properly eh? LOL

Hello all, OK... It's Sat. and I'm about to start going through my new 1st gen VR (fluids, plugs, elec. system check, etc.) I started looking her over last night and found a few minor concerns, just minor mechanical and cosmetic but am having trouble finding links etc. so I will put my initial queries in this post and see what shakes loose. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give. Mechanically for starters... I noticed the shift shaft (shifter input shaft if you prefer) has got some play, checked a couple other bikes around (not VR's) and they are solid. Is this normal for 81K miles, or is there a fix for this? I know the seal needs replacing, that's no biggie but the play has me worried. Leaking oil a little from top of lft rear cyl. appears to be cam cover gasket and half moon, any little oddities to beware of here? Will there be any problem switching to full synth on the oil change, or any oil change tips from the masters? Second... cosmetics: The windscreen is "peeling"? and kinda yellow, is there a fix or is this a new windscreen? Needs some odds and ends... side vent, reflector, etc. any good places to get these at a reasonable price? Finally... I'm perplexed, I've seen pics of the '86 VR with and w/o a lower fairing piece or "scoop". Is there a good reason why some have them and some don't? If possible... same as trim question, where can a guy find one at a reasonable price? Thanks for reading and indulging an enthusiastic new owner! Look forward to hearing from you all. Kelly

My carbs are completely clogged on left hand side of the engine. I am going to take them off and I am wondering if anyone knows: is there a kit to replace everything in the carb - jets bowls etc..\ where can the best price be had What kind of money would make it best to buy a used set of carbs, I found a set of carbs that just came off a running 83 venture but not sure what they are worth. As alwasy I do appreciate the info and help..

Well, here goes. It may get a little bit long, but here are my thoughts. On March 17th I ordered two Scorpion Hat Trick jackets @ $149.99 each. They shipped them on March 22nd, and I got them OK. I was pleased with the price as they were lower than most other sites, and I had looked at the jackets at a local dealer (higher priced) and knew exactlly what I was getting. Last Thursday 04-22 I get an ad from them in my email and they have the same jacket for $114.99, $35 less than I paid, for a total of $70.00 less for the two. So I sent them a polite (I thought) email inquiring about a possible price match. Here is what I sent, and I also added my name, address and phone number: "Subject: Price of Scorpion Hat Trick jackets On 03-22-2010 you shipped my order number 1031756 of two of these jackets. I paid $149.99 each for them. You now have them on sale at $114.99 each. $35 each is a signifigant difference in price. Is there any chance that I can get a price match refund of the $70 more that I paid? If I had only waited a month to order my two jackets I would have gotten them for $114.99 each. Thank you for your consideration of this matter." Yesterday, Tues. 04-27 (5 days later) I got this reply: We do not go more than 7 days for match That's it, that's all they sent. I was not happy with how they responded. It is their choice as to how they establish their price matching policy, but I felt that they were rude and very unprofessional in their response. Following is my reply to their reply: "What kind of response is this? No name, no comment, no thank you for your business. Not even any punctuation. This certainly is not the way to promote your business. This response must be from someone who just doesn't give a damn about this business, only that they get a pay check. I checked as much of your web site as I could to find your written policy for price match against yourself and could not find it anywhere. Perhaps you can enlighten me as to where to find it. Meanwhile, I will post my feelings about your your customer service (and price match policy), and your lack of courtesy, to the motorcycle forums in which I am active. Some of them even list your store as a recommended source to purchase parts and gear, etc. Seems like they must not know the whole story. By the way, I sent my email to you last Thursday, 04-22-2010. Got the response Tuesday, 04-27-2010. Seems like a long time to wait for such a short response." Needless to say, unless I get some kind of positive response from someone in their customer service, managment, or ownership, they will never get another order from me.All this FWIW, and now I feel better. I've just purchased a 2009 Royal Star Venture and will be selling my 86 VR. It is in great mechanical shape with new tires..Theres a couple of repairs to the fairing etc but all in all its a great bike and well worth the asking price of $1200. If anyone is interested the current Price of 16ooo mi service as of 4/15/10 is $585.00 and we didnt have to touch anythink other than change all fluids air filters and put afew poundes of air in the rear tire. Oh and they didnt charge for washing it.
