Well today it happened. I was a little saddened watching the VR rolling away from me on a trailer with its new owner. Bike hasn't been started since August (it never even made the move to the new residence. It was still being stored at the old one). 40* in there and the engine fired right up. Looking through the pics i have of it is what got me. pics of my boy posing with the bike, riding it in his diaper & helmet when he was younger. Had some good memories on that old bike. Can't wait to see what the future holds in store. I'll be seeing it alot I think, the new owner asked if i had the tools to do work on the bike like syncing the carbs and such.....we'll see. Anyhow, just had to put it in 'print' I guess.

If I remember correctly this ignition tach/temp guage mount was built by a local Star rider who has passed away. I'd heard of them, but had never seen one. I kinda like it. Anyone have a different story on the thing. These pics are the only I've ever seen. I tried to buy this set but the bike seller said no way Jose'....

Snow chains on the Venture? Well, not exactly....but I did get caught in the freak snowstorm in Amarillo over the weekend. Texas had snow and it was 65 degrees in Pennsylvania... The first 3 shots show my bike in the carport at a friends place and the road out front. The next pic...um...no comment. But the last 2 pics verify the conditions the next day: Snow, and yet the trees are still sporting leaves, and waterfowl still hanging around. Mother nature caught us ALL by surprise!

I saw this on on a news broadcast on CBC this morning and the pics amazed me. I really hope we wont see anything like this chase in Yellowstone next summer at the Intl rally. But the bison and grizzly ran right past the guy taking the pics, they were so engaged with each other. Well it started out with me going to my eye appointment. Had a check up after the laser surgery this spring for the glaucoma. Seems all is ok, even got pics of my optic nerve. Wish they hadn't dilated my eyes I might have been able to see the pics. Just a little thinning, but then we went to the grocery store in Elizabeth City. (this is the town next county up) Jeff paid I went to check on something while he was doing that. Found out on our way out of the store they gave him a senior discount. I found this very funny, see I'm older then he is. He's only 46 but all that gray hair and beard must make him look older, or he lied to me way back when we got married and he's really way older then I thought. Just thought some of ya might get a good chuckle out of that part. Margaret

Hi Folks, I think the time has come to sell my 89 VR. Mainly health reasons. Some of you saw her at Dons the past couple of years. 2 tone Burgandy with Harley exhaust. Withalot of help from here on the site I have completed new fork seals and Progressive springs, new rear tire, new brakes, new Fiestick and coax, new AGM battery, complete rear end service including drive shaft,and added Harley Utra Classic exhaust. 32k on her with a lot more in her. I rode to StLouis couple years ago, straight thru and didnt get sore except for the sunburn. I don't have any pics right now and am a novice on how to add one if could but I will try. Its Never been down that I know of , I am the second owner, plastic is very good, paint is sun faded some on the tops. I can take and send pics with my phone if wanted. to mount the pillow top seats on the RSTD I have seen them on the RSTD but need to know how they would mount and if anyone has any pic's of what is needed and how they go on. Thanks star4772 :confused24:
