1. Has anyone tried any of these pads ? http://www.sargentcycle.com/heatedkits.htm http://www.heatdemons.com/Motorcycle-Heated-Seats_c_101.html With low overnight temperatures would be nice to have a heated seat !
2. I recently went out with family members to see some local musicans at a club here in town. While waiting for the show to start i was looking out the big front windows at the traffic and watched as a sidecar pulled up to the corner. It had a Velorex 700 attached just like my old one. and it looked like it was on a Yamaha like my old one. In fact it was my old rig. It pulled up in front of the club and parked. I ran out to talk to the owner who wasn't the guy i sold the bike to. He had just bought it and loved it. i told him all kinds of stories about its history and i gave him my number in case he needed any info on the bike. It was nice to see her again and see someone enjoying it as much as i did. Its always nice to run into an old friend.
3. The wife and I got back Friday after visiting Hocking Hills area. Some real nice riding around there and a lot to get off the bike and see on foot. We left Thursday morning and headed North east and road the scenic ByWays. When the road drops off ahead of you where you can't see it any more until you are on the down side of the hill, can take your breath away. Some great riding in Ohio on the east side. Great roads. We got 850 miles put on our trip. Thanks Ohio.
4. This shot was taken by my daughter & her b/f when they were in Nice, France recently. (those 2nd gen's are everywhere!)

help?

Hey folks new to this site but looks like a good group. Was wondering how i might find someone in my area to help me with a carb sync. I dont have the vac gauges thought maybe someone who did might wanna make some money. I don't like going to the shop and paying too much for this kind of work. I live in central WI and would not object to a nice 200 mile ride:)
6. I found a nice used toyhauler, so I took the plunge. I'm hoping I can get the wife to come along to some of the places I normally ride like Sturgis. It sure would would be nice to spend some of that time with her. I can do a little riding while out there. But since she wont ride at all, its my only chance. Heres a few pics. Its a 2005 26 foot U.S. Cargo. Its heavy, so I added a equalizer/anti sway hitch as well. Should be fun!
7. http://www.rocknbluesusa.com/ thinks we will stop in....
8. I was visiting a customer yesterday in Ohio and found out that she rides. She rides a very nice older and highly customized Harley Super Glide shovel head. Very nice bike. Now this lady is absolutely beautiful. Probably mid to late 30's based only upon the fact that she has an 18 year old daughter. Very sweet and fun lady. She told me a story about stopping by a local sandwich shop to pick up lunch to take back to her office. There was a new guy working behind the counter and he was going on and on about his new bike. Then the guy looked at her and said "yea, just picked up my new bike. Going to a meet this weekend. You should come by." She said that he went on and on trying to be really cool but then he screwed up. He told her "If you stop by, maybe I'll let you clean my bike". Oops.....very bad suggestion. There was a fairly good lunch crowd waiting by now and in front of all of them, the asked "what kind of bike did you buy". He replied that he had bought a brand new Harley Davidson Sportster. That was all she needed to know. Her reply to him was "Very nice, you will enjoy it. I actually started out on a girl's bike too". Game, set, match. She said that he had nothing else to say after that.
9. Just got my trailer hitch from Larry (carbon One), I must say it's a nice piece of work. It's time to finish up on the trailer so i can use it to go to NY.
10. It must be nice to have a product to sell and anticipate a problem and be able to raise a price 30 % without proof of a problem to come.
11. Took a Vulcan Voyager 1700 out for ride at Detroit Bike Week today. VERY nice bike. I think it blows the Venture away in handling and ride. Real nice dash. Gobs of power. Man when you bang second gear, yikes, she takes off. Makes me think about a new bike.
12. I just found a 1983 Venture for sale for $1900. Add says great shape and good running, has 51,000 miles. I'm thinking as a project bike if its a nice bike. What do you guys think? Whats a good price? How about finding parts?
13. hello all i got the carbs in today and cked and cleaned them put them on the bike and it is running back to normel again the carbs did the trick i hope to get them sync at the ashville railly next month i do not know what is wrong with my carbs but nice to be running again i want to thank everyone for there help on trying to fix the problem bumble bee 1999 rsv
14. Went for a demo ride on this today. Sort of drug along with my HD loving family, and the VRod was available when they were riding. It is the quickest HD I have ever rode, nice handling, but for me, a terrible seating position with way forward controls and handlebars. A little more and it would have been like sitting on floor and bending forward to touch your toes. I was able to give this some brisk accelerations and it was nice. 15. I found these forks on ebay last week and missed the end of the auction. I asked the seller if they were truly in good shape and if he would sell them for his minimum bid plus shipping. He said yes so I took a chance, $100 shipped. They showed up today and look great. Nice to know not all ebay sellers are selling crap. Since buying my basket case this spring i've received a lot of junk off ebay. I hope I can find the rest of the stuff I need for this conversion in as nice of shape as these forks. Now I just need the rotors and the calipers and the progressive springs and some anti-dive block offs and a fork brace and new brake lines and...and...um...nevermind...Now i'm bummed out...i'm gonna go get ready for work...talk to you guys later.
16. This 86 VR is my first v4, also the first 4cyl carb job I have had to do, just wondering if there's anyone around Portland Oregon that could come over and give me a hand? It would be nice to have someone help that's done this before. Thanks.
17. I was in Costco the other day and they had a pretty nice looking motorcyle trailer. tried to look it over but they had it standing on end so I could not see the under carriage as it was against the wall. Had nice 12" tires with chrome rims. Nice finish and a fairly low profile. I did think it was a bit long but other than that it looked to be built pretty good. Price was $1400 Canadian. I think you had to buy a spare tire as that was not included. Weight was 150 lbs and cargo load was 250lbs Check out there link http://www.pod-ium.com/PODIUM-motorcycle-luggage-trailer-aluminum.html Bob:301:
18. I was at the grocery store today standing beside my bike. An elderly lady came up to me and said " I hate you bikers, but that sure is a nice bike.":rotf:
19. Alright looks like the meet and eat will be Sat. July 7, 2012. We will be meeting at 9:00 am at the Pilot Truck Stop at Exit 41 off of I-85. Coming from the north take a left turn under the interstate and the Pilot is on the right, coming from the south take a right and the Pilot is on the right. If anyone wants there is a Subway and a Wendy's there if they want to eat breakfast before we leave, expect KSU at 9:45 am. We will take some back roads down to Warm Springs where they have a shop, Extreme Motorsports that opens at 11:00 am, also have a M/C musem, there is an admission to get in. We will spend about an hour there and then head into FDR State Park and ride over Pine Mtn, mild twisties nothing like the Dragon but a nice ride with some very nice scenic overlooks. We will make a couple of stops in the overlooks, bring your cameras for some nice pics. From there we will leave the park and head down to the small town of Pine Mtn. and eat at a great little BBQ stand called Three Little Pigs, great food, but they dont take credit or debit so make sure you bring cash or you may go hungry.............!!! After that some more back roads back towards Newnan. Hope to see lots of new and old friends there.
20. Took a s,mall ride this evening and had a wonderful time. I only rode for about 45 min, but it is nice to get back in the saddle and not have to worry about what time you have to be somewhere. I haven't owned a bike for 15 years. I had forgotten how nice it is to just cruise. BTW, Happy Father's day to all you dads out there! Hope you got some ride time in.
21. Stopped and talked to a couple of gentleman on the BRP yesterday, one was riding an 06 Venture real nice guy gave him a card hopefully he will check us out.
22. While at work today, I walked to our mailbox and just as I turned to go bac to the office, I hear a motocycle coming towards me. Well of course I looked up and I saw a very nice looking MK2 blonde go by and turn into the dealer next door. When I got done with work, 15 minutes later, I go to the dealer to get some YamaLube to change the oil in my "84. Well, the owner of the MK2 was still inside. He is the owner of one of the local construction companies. We had a nice chat inside and then went and looked at his bike. He told me he got it form a guy on ebay form Corsica, SD. It is a 1987 Royale and has many of the extra bells and whistles, including but not limited to, venturline trunk rack, venturline drivers backrest and what look to me to be some sort of original driving lights. Of course I told him about the VentureRiders.org and all the help that I have recieved from all the great folks here. He is looking for some fairing parts since someone in the past damaged the right rear corner and tried to fix it with bondo. Hope to see him here, and on the road, soon. Dave
23. Hello Everyone: Finally took a weekend off from Estate issues. Patrolman46 and Babe asked us to attend a 3 day biker event in a nearby town. Took the car down and back on Friday night, but met them in Alliance NE yesterday morning on the bike. while we were waiting for them to arrive, a nice couple from Tulsa OK approached us. They introduced themselves and the husband mentioned how nice my 05 TD and Harley trunk looked. He mentioned they previously owned a 06 RSTD but just traded it for a 2010 Ultra. He quickly noticed a few of the usual modifications. He was not aware of the VR site. They were trailer their new bike to the Black hills and asked for lodging suggestions. We suggested they stay at the Chief Motel in Custer and besure to locate the Purple Pie Place!!! When Patrolman46 and Babe arrived they thought this new couple and us had been friends for years!!!! Donnie took a picture of Dan's 2000MM and sent it to a friend. We crossed paths with Donnie and Holly again in Chadron before we turned and headed west. New friends are a blessing!!!
24. This is my nice Sunday morning ride.
25. My friend JD Holbrooks and I just got back today from a trip that we planned back in December of last year. We rode just a few miles shy of 1,000 miles since last Friday evening. We had a good time and I really enjoyed the ride. I love my new Flanders bars and my Stainless cables. The bars seemed to be low at first here at the house on a short ride. So Thursday night I raised them and and left out Friday around 2 PM. They where just right and made a big difference for me. I also had the foam grip add ons over the grips. We got up around Lake Erie on Saturday and I took the foam grips that stretch over bar ends off. They where to beefy for me.They made my hands feel like they had to much in them. So then the rest of the trip was even better after that. We rode over into Michigan and down to Clearwater, Michigan and spent the night at a Holiday Inn Exp. A very nice hotel and tell Brittany Hi from me. Very very very clean hotel. Brittany was so nice and I had to call her back to find the hotel even with the GPS, we where both lost. Kinda hard to see and find. Right beside interstate 69 on the south side behind Ky Fried Chicken and a great big leafy tree blocking the only sign. I ran across a fellow on down in Indiana as we headed south. The fellow said he knew about the Venture Rider Site and that he knew a fellow back where he lived in Northern Michigan that had a 1st Gen and that he belonged here on the site ??????. Would have been smart for me to remember his name though, sorry. This fellow had two bikes, one he had bought for his ex-wife (Victory maybe) and another that he was pulling a pop up tent trailer with, a Harley. He worked with the company some selling the pop up tent motorcycle trailers. The square ones that keep you up off the ground. A nice trailer. MY Bike and Lake Erie.....My friend JD Holbrooks and his Harley RK.....Me and my bike and the lake. Ohio Rt 6 and Rt 2 along the lake and across the bay up around Port Clinton I think it was. The weather was really cool around Lake Erie. Michigan was just right but really really really dry. Indian north was hot and dry, south was nice. We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Madison,Indiana last night. Nice, and very very clean hotel. Came home this morning. I rode in some of the flattest country I have ever rode in my life, Indiana cornfields for miles and miles. JD will lead sometimes, but 90% of the time I am leading because he wont do it. He does seem to get us lost easy, but who cares, where riding. Indiana Rt 3 South. I am so glad to be able to be back on the bike. I had some shoulder issues, hence the surgery, not to bad at all on the trip. I did Physical therapy while on this trip. I carried a big plastic coat hanger to do my therapy with. We had a great time. Good to be back riding. Fuzzy
