  1. hi all went on a weekend run over to the texas hill country, to run the twisted sisters. my mpg range was a low of 37.8 to a high of 45.4. overal all mpg for 799.2 miles was 41.1. i feel this was pretty good for me. should maybe get better on the freeways running a steady speed. also there was a guy take photos of bikes coming around a hairpin turn, on f.m.337 some were past the kyote ranch and leaky, texas. has enyone else seen him? i thought his sign said www.txmxphoto.com but i could not pull the web site up. any help would be most welcome. best reguards don c.
  2. OK I know its not about a motorcycle. But I would like to see if any body here would know the average MPG on a Camaro with a LT1 motor.? car has 91,000mi uses no oil and no leaks. A good friend of mine just bought himself a 880 - 830? Harley motorcycle. I went by his house today to replace a belt on his police car. I was teasing him that I should be a police officer due to him having a 2007 Chevy pickup - New Harley and the Z28.He said he was selling his Z28 Super Sport and wanted to know if I wanted it? This Camaro looks in excellent shape and he always kept it show room clean. Anyway I wanted to get another car to drive to work when the weather was bad. And my Farm truck F-150 4X4 gets about 10 -14 mpg plus it has over 217,000mi. He said I could have it for $5,500 dollars, guess this is a good price?. I asked him what mpg he got on the Z28 and he said I don't know I just drive it. he does not worry about gas mileage. I'm not worried about the motor or drive train due to him being a A.S.E mechanic too. Anyway I was wanting to know a ball park average on a 1997 Z28?. Being a sport car I'm not expecting it to get 30+mpg, but I would be happy if it gets 20-22mpg? I do have a 1981 Camaro setting in my back yard which does not look like much but with a 6.6L olds rocket bored 60*over I be lucky to get 10 MPG so it has not been drivin in some time. I'm going by there tomorrow and give it a test drive and see how it performs and if my body will let me enjoy the ride of a sports car again? Buddy

    Log Gas Mileage

I went from 38/40 MPG to 23 MPG after my 600 mile service. Can anyone tell me what the problem is,?
  4. how does one insert an mpg video into a post so that it can be played...?
  5. Now with gas prices at an all time high whats the average mpg that you're seeing? I'm getting about 31 city and 35 highway. I know its an 800+ lbs touring bike; is that bad, good, or par ?
  6. This looks pretty cool. Supposed to get about 70 mpg. I wonder what they're gonna charge for it. The article doesn't tell ya. http://blog.wired.com/cars/2008/02/vw-unveiling-an.html Margaret
  7. I just rode my buddies 03 RSV, and his has much better acceleration and much better gas mileage. Mine is 99' RSV. Any ideas on where to look first?? I appreciate all of you members with all of your good advice and experience!! I have not synced the carbs yet. could that be it? It has 48000 miles and I don't know if the valves have been checked or not. It rides good now, but seems like it should be better. I am getting around 25-30 mpg. He is getting 35-39 mpg. thanks, Alan..
  8. ok my 84 venture royale is running realy rich. you can smell the raw fuel when its running and mileage is down under 30 MPG. I've been running seafoam through it every other tankfull but it hasn't effected the MPG to much if at all. bike is running great aside from that. I love the bike but currently its costing me more then driveing my car. any idea where i can adjust how much fuel is being dumped into the engine or what ellse I should be doing to improve my MPG issue?
  9. Kerker 4-1 Any way to quiet this baby down. Kerker makes a silencer would that replace my existing muffler or is that what I have now. Maybe the baffling needs repacked or my ears are more sensitive with age. 75mph not bad but 40-55 is to noisy. Wife was in bed and she could here me going through the gears 1/2 mile down the road. Must be the early morning fog. Stage 5 jet kit with individual K&N's still get 30 mpg.
  10. I tried SeaFoam in my ’99 RSV this week. After seeing the rave revues of the product here in the forum I said “Why not?” Within 15 miles I felt a noticeable increase in power. My records indicate that I had been averaging just over 37 mpg. On the first tank with SeaFoam I got 40 mpg and on the next tank without SeaFoam I got just over 40 mpg. I talked with my friend Scott Bartley of Knuckleheads Motorcycle Center, an independent sales, repair and self-service shop, here in Chambersburg, PA. He deals mainly in used motorcycles and aftermarket parts. He tells me that one of the first steps in preparing a used cycle for sale it adding SeaFoam to the fuel, especially one that has been setting for a while. What a great product, thanks to all the forum members for relating their stories about it. When I talked to Scott yesterday he recommended another product that the forum members should be aware of. Has anyone tried Bike Brite? Just spray it on and hose it off with a strong stream. I was amazed by how it made the chrome, paint and vinyl shine. The windscreen needed a quick wipe with a soft towel to remove the last of a weeks worth of bugs and I just towel dried the rest. I am as impressed with it as I am Sea Form. You can contact Scott for more info about Bike Brite at “bikeknuckleheads@aim.com”
  11. One of the guys said that the KWs slip ons reduced his MPG. Anyboby else had the happen????---Buzz
