anyone put a cup holder on a 83 venture ? if so which kind did ya get and where did you mount it so its easy to get to and not in the way?

Finally got to put my hitch on. I still will have to get me a couple of those chrome acorn head-nuts for the chrome bolts through the fender trim. I am going to also put some black silicone around the rear mud guard, where I cut it to install the hitch. But I think I will wait until I get done with the flag mount I am going to make for the hitch. I am thinking of using the flag mount hitch idea I got from someone here. I will get me a coupling stinger to go from the small size to the 2" size and also put an extra brake light into the end of the receiver from Wall-Mart ($12.00). I will mount my flag to the top of this and still have an open and easy to see brake light. I also designed those mud guards on my bike, and a good friend whom works with leather saddles and so on made them for me out of 1/4 inch thick leather. Just in case some one is wondering from the pictures. You see, I am following the rules... Fuzzy PS; Also included in these pictures is one of the copperhead snakes that myself and the rest of the mowing tractor crew (State Hwy Dept.) have killed this year. We have killed 4 so far. All of them from out on St Hwy 801 next to the Cave Run Lake area. If you visit this area, be very couscous around the ditch lines on the roadways. This is one of the mid size ones. There was one that was bigger than this one. We killed this one while slope mowing last week. -
The wife bought me three 18" red LED light strips to mount on the RSV, which I'll probably mount under the tank rim so that they will light up the chrome in the engine area. Just not sure about what kind of on/off switch to get or the best place to mount it. Any suggestions?

I'm looking for information on: 1. Where to get a driver back-rest for my '83? and 2. How to mount it? Did they even make back-rest for the '83?

I am a proud member or the Ohio Patriot Guard Riders. I would like to mount a 3x5 flag on my 2006 RSTD. I have seen other mounts that are all homemade. Does anyone have a mount on their bike I could copy for dimentions? TY for you input folks. MoS

I have a 2008 RSTD and want to add spotlights. I purchased as set that were original equipment to early 2000's Indian, which has the turn signal built into the bottom of the spotlight housing. They mount fine on the RSTD spotlight bar. Does anyone have a diagram of how these get wired into the right circuit? I have seen where RSTD owners have added a toggle switch for on / off. Where do folks mount that toggle switch? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. R.

Apparently I am search challenged.. I have searched everywhere I can think of and can't seem to find the answer I just put together my bike trailer and will be ordering the hitch and Hoppy adapter/isolator. I also plan to mount a fuse box. I am thinking there is enough room under the seat of my 2005 RSTD to mount the fuse block but where does everyone tie into the wiring for the Hoppy?? I have seen a couple of threads where people menitoned splicing into the area at the tail light... Sorry for the questions, just get a little paranoid when messing with the electrical system and don't waht to fry anything.. Anything with pics would be great... Thanks.. Robert C.

I looking for a clean and professional look when I mount the 5 flat plug on the bike. Have looked at the back of my 08 RSV and can't seem to decide how or where to mount the plug. I'm pretty picky, but know there are others on here that are picker than I and also wanted a clean look. So the question is how and where did you mount your trailer plug. Thanks.

Got a question. What does the Zumo 550 use as a mount on the backside. The reason I ask is my look-a-like Streetpilot c550 snaps onto a 17mm ball, and I just got off the phone with RAM and they are telling me the Zumo mount bolts on?? And.... they don't have anything that will work with the STPilot. Even though when you go on their website for MC mounts,, and use their search engine, the mount they say to use on the MC says it's not recommended for MC use. I used to really like RAM mounts, but lately they are getting to be a joke....

Broke fairing open and ended up snapping one of the mount tabs on the chrome windshield trim - but it is the tab on the end with the screw hole in it. Saw the post for fixing the tabs on the inside part of the trim...Will that also work for the end tabs, or do I have to buy a new one? Appreciate any help I can get. MnM

I'm looking at putting a fairing on my rstd. If I do I'll need to figure out how to mount my lowers. Looking at the brackets diamondR sells, do they mount to the turn signal bar and would this work on the rstd if so do I need other parts to make it work?

I have a set of wing deflectors that came with this bike and have never seen before and was wondering if anybody has seen them on a 84 Venture Royale and where do they mount. Any help would be appreciated on this. Thanks in advance. Al

I am installing the firestik firefly 3foot antennas in place of the stock ones. After searching the other antenna related threads, I have a question: Instead of replacing all the wiring and the antenna mounts, Is it possible to just drill out the antenna mount and rethread it to the correct thread to match the antenna and just screw the firestik into the mount? I'd do this on both sides. Then just have the CB antenna tuned to the system. I already bought all the components to change everything over. But if it is possible then maybe it could save someone else some money. Thanks in advance

getting lil tired with my taillight . I would like to install a brighter multi led light, new plate mount and maybe some turn signal hugger lights on the fender. There is a module i can purchase to have my turnsignals also rnning lighst but how hard is it to make them running lights turn signals and brake lights as we?

I am about to mount one of Ponch's built center stands and I see a 6" long 3" diameter black tube with a rubber cap on it with a rubber hose running out the end mounted to the angle bracket where I need to mount the stand. First, what is this part and what does it do? Second Is there a relocation mod for this or is this part not necessary? Before I start taking stuff off I would like to know what I am doing before I mess something up. Thanks for any insight I can get... Mongo

Hey guys. I have never given the pass seat a second though but The weather is getting better na dmy wife and daughter are wanting to ride with dad!. the pass seat on mine is mounted with one screw at the tail but this is not enough to keep it secure. the seat still moves to the left and right. Is there something that i am missing or is it that the rubber grommets under the seat are compressed and need to be replaced. While working on my buddys venture i noticed his seat had a whioel different bracket to mount to.

Great fairing for the price. Good service. I finally got it painted, installed and wired for sound. It doesn't play cassette tapes though but I can run my droid phone through it for mp3 listening pleasure and GPS service. Mounting was straight up to the stock windshield mount. No modification at all. Next addition has got to be a ram mount for the phone. Harley riders look at me funny now trying to figure out just what kind of bike it is.

I found this Texelent® Bar Mount System but in emailing the inventor found out that it is designed to work only on Gold Wings. I like the idea of a bar that traverses the handle bars that will allow me to use RAM mounts to attach the various accessories I have attached to the handlebars. I also want to have my Garmin 665 top and center in my field of vision. Anyone have any ideas on an alternative? Thanks.

I have an 09 RSV and a Motorola Droid X cell phone. Its my music and GPS also. The phone dosent seem to fit my Ram Mount universal holder real well so I have it rubber banded on there for extra security. I came across the Rider's Claw and was wondering if anybody has one mounted on their RSV? If so any chance I could get a pic or two (the mount is made for HD but has adapter handlebar brackets for non HD bikes). I'd appreciate it and ride safe ya all!! Could it be that this mount is for an RSTD? Paul

So I was riding my 2002 RSV home from work and pushed the up arrow on the radio to change the station. Instead of tuning in to the next station the radio stock flopped forward. The two screws that are supposed to hold it to the mount must have got lose from vibration and came out. Does anyone know what size replacement screws I need? For now I've got the radio attached to the mount with tie wraps. Thanks, Dan

I'm about ready to start swapping out the fin covers for a set of blacks, and after reading about coolant leaks coming from under the covers I thought I'd go ahead and do a little PM and order new gaskets. After looking at the parts schematic I'm confused. It shows something called a Damper Engine Mount. #37 and #40. And they sure don't look like a seal to me. Are these things rubber, and do they seal anything??

I'm looking at this to mount my Magellan Roadmate 3045-MU to my RSV. http://www.mountguys.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=RAM-B-149Z-PD2&click=21 Was thinking the standard length (3") would be enough. Wasn't sure if 1) it would mount to the bars with enough clearance for movement and/or 2) once mounted if I could swivel the unit enough on the mount so that I could see it properly.
