  1. Interesting concept. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2012/09/28/college-students-reinvent-wheel-with-spherical-drive-motorcycle/?intcmp=features
  2. It is hard to believe it has been over 41 years since this movie was released. If there ever was a classic motorcycle movie, this was it. Not only was it a great motorcycle documentary, but it was also funny. Steve McQueen was great in it. I remember I had been in the USAF about two and a half years and saw it at the local theater. When it was over, I just wanted to sit there and enjoy the feeling of the love of motorcycling, even though it had been years since I had had one. I am not sure if you have to download zulu to watch this, but if you are interested, here is a link. Enjoy, RandyA http://www.hulu.com/#!watch/79438
  3. Don't know how I'd feel towing something like this. Was thinking about turning it into a motorcycle trailer, but don't know if it'd be safe. bjmrt-3269559198@sale.craigslist.org http://images.craigslist.org/5N85L15M83M93Fe3Jec9df2847bb5042e1d3b.jpg

    Bean're Motorcycle Nomad

Reading a new book " Bean're Motorcycle Nomad", what a story! To make it even better, he personally signed the book for me, in person no less, at the Wharf Rat Rally in Digby NS CANADA this year. It's a book well worth a read!
  6. Luv it! New here, so apologies if it's a repost. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVthx6ALnh8&feature=related]Burnout motorcycle - YouTube[/ame]
  7. Got a flyer yesterday and the Harbor Freight Motorcycle jack is on sale this weekend for $69.
  8. I got home from my trip to East Tennessee on Saturday afternoon. This trip was one of the most enjoyable things I’ve done in a long time. The weather was great and the trip went off without a hitch. As I said before leaving, it would have been better if I’d had someone to share this trip with, but this time I had to go it alone. I was able to ride many good motorcycle roads that up to this time, I had only traveled in my car. One of the most impressive parts of my trip was my visit to the Wheels Through Time Motorcycle Museum in Maggie Valley, NC. Anyone planning a trip to this area needs to take the time to go to Maggie Valley. The museum is a “Must See”. For only $12.00 you will have the opportunity to enjoy a piece of true motorcycle history. Well, I guess it’s time to start planning my next trip. Maybe next time I can find a few people to go with me.
  9. If you don't tear up or get a lump in your throat, you have absolutely no patriotism. I'd like to post it on another board, but it's not "motorcycle related" and some of them get disgruntled about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0fQd858cRc%26hl=en_US%26feature=player_embedded%26version=3Since
  10. Now verry proud of my 1986 1300 venture, smooth ride, i realy like it. But only need suspension, engine and wheels meening ; will make my naked venture this fall is that motorcycle to hold, or will it have some one interested on cosmetic parts???? ciaow
  11. Has anyone used or know of anyone that have used the retractable motorcycle support wheels? I've got an uncle who's turning 85 this year and he sayes his Harley Dresser and his 1500 Gold Wing are getting a little heavy in the parking lot:shock3:. He doesn't want a trike or a sidecar. I don't know the pricing on these, but the video looks interesting. Mabeline http://www.trikealternative.com/
  12. my mother in-law has changed her admin password and now can not get in. no recovery disc, no password reset disc. I typed every combination of what she said it was that I can think of. ps. yes this is motorcycle related I gonna run over this thing with it. any ideas
  13. I saw on the tele this morning a trip along Utah's Route 12. Early research reveals this is a 125 mile, seemingly rugged road with some really super sights. Is this road motorcycle friendly? When would be the best time of year to ride it? Appreciate any input.
  14. I like it. It could be my next motorcycle. http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/904/13516/Motorcycle-Article/2013-Triumph-Trophy-First-Look.aspx http://images.motorcycle-usa.com/photogallerys/large/Triumph-Trophy-3.jpg
  15. I was wondering if anyone here owns a Pit Bull Motorcycle Lift...and if so...could you give us your appraisal of using this lift?
  16. I’m changing out my throttle cables for longer ones to accommodate RSTD bars on my RSV. It looks like a relatively easy job until I got to the junction where the cables all come together. I don’t want to take something apart and have some little part zing in to nowhere land. When I got to the junction box (or whatever it is called) first thing I see is that the screws that hold the thing together are on the inboard side of the junction box. Now do I need to take all 5 cables off the motorcycle and take the junction box to the workbench or is there some way to work with this while installed on the motorcycle? Are there any surprises or secrets that I need to be aware of? Thanks Kent:bang head:
  17. Betcha' can't read this without laughing... What a wonderful confluence of two diverse groups! We need more gatherings where the idiot activists are given warm, moist, aromatic welcomes like this one. This is why PETA usually protests women wearing fur ~ rather than bikers wearing leather. Hey! "You mess with the bull, and you get the horns". Gee, I guess these characters thought that bikers were going to be 'politically correct' like the rest of the wimpy world. HERE'S HOW POLICE FOUND ONE OF THEM: Johnstown, PA (Glossy News) - Local and state police scoured the hills outside rural Johnstown, Pennsylvania, after reports of three animal rights activists going missing after attempting to protest the wearing of leather at a large motorcycle gang rally this weekend. Two others, previously reported missing, were discovered by fast food workers "duct taped inside fast food restaurant dumpsters," according to police officials. "Something just went wrong," said a still visibly shaken organizer of the protest. "Something just went horribly, horribly, wrong." The organizer said a group of concerned animal rights activist groups, "growing tired of throwing fake blood and shouting profanities at older women wearing leather or fur coats," decided to protest the annual motorcycle club event "...in a hope to show them our outrage at their wanting to use leather in their clothing and motor bike seats." "In fact," said the organizer, "motorcycle gangs are one of the biggest abusers of wearing leather, and we decided it was high time that we let them know that we disagree with them using it, ergo, they should stop." According to witnesses, protesters arrived at the event in a vintage 1960's era Volkswagen van and began to pelt the gang members with balloons filled with red colored water, simulating blood, and shouting "you're murderers" to passers by. This, evidently, is when the brouhaha began. "They peed on me!!!" charged one activist. "They grabbed me, said I looked like I was French, started calling me 'La Trene', and duct taped me to a tree so they could pee on me all day!" Still others claimed they were forced to eat hamburgers and hot dogs under duress. Those who resisted were allegedly held down while several bikers "farted on their heads." Police officials declined comments on any leads or arrests due to the ongoing nature of the investigation; however, organizers for the motorcycle club rally expressed "surprise" at the allegations. "That's preposterous, "said one high-ranking member of the biker organizing committee. "We were having a party, and these people showed up and were very rude to us. They threw things at us, called us names, and tried to ruin the entire event. So, what did we do? We invited them to the party! What could be more friendly than that? You know, just because we are all members of motorcycle clubs does not mean we do not care about inclusiveness. Personally, I think it shows a lack of character for them to be saying such nasty things about us after we bent over backwards to make them feel welcome." When confronted with the allegations of force-feeding the activists meat, using them as ad hoc latrines, leaving them incapacitated in fast food restaurant dumpsters, and 'farting on their heads,' the organizer declined to comment in detail. "That's just our secret handshake," assured the organizer.
  18. Well...well...not to have those midwesterners in Minnesota outdo us folks on the Best Coast, I thought I would pass along that the Classic Japanese Motorcycle Club is having it's annual Swap Meet and Bike Show in Auburn, CA. at the end of this month, on Friday, June 29th. to Sunday, July 1st. Here is the link to their calendar, and you will have to scroll down to get to the end of June to see all the details of the event: http://www.cjmc.org/calendar.html There is Flat Track races on Friday night, not affiliated with the swap meet and show, but in the same fairgrounds area, so we all just walk over to the flat track races and have a hoot. It has been popinted out to me that this is somewhat near Condor...hmm...so maybe he could show up too.
  19. Just wanted to pass along this information on the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle show and swap meet at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds on Saturday, June 16th, 2012. Here is the link to their flyer: http://vjmc-mn.com/2012show.html And the Antique Motorcycle Club of America is also there... http://www.vikingmc.org/ Rick F.
  20. You never know what is really true... but....This is interesting: http://www.autoblog.com/2012/05/23/man-stranded-in-desert-builds-motorcycle-out-of-his-broken-car/?ncid=txtlnkwbauto00000002 According to Merriam-Webster, ingenuity can be defined as "skill or cleverness in devising or combining" or "cleverness or aptness of design or contrivance." We'd say that's an apt description of a Frenchman named Emile who reportedly found himself stranded in the deserts of Northwest Africa after breaking a frame rail and a suspension swingarm underneath his Citroën 2CV. What to do? Why, disassemble the broken hulk and build yourself a motorcycle from its pile of parts, of course! As the story goes, Emile was able to use the inventive machine to escape the desert, though not before convincing the local authorities that he wasn't an insurgent and paying a fine for importing a non-conforming vehicle... Since Emile was the only soul in the area, nobody has been able to confirm the veracity of the events that led to the little French runabout's conversion into a makeshift motorcycle. That said, judging by the images you can see here (apparently from the March 2003 issue of 2CV Magazine), this Citroën-bred two-wheeler does indeed exist, and it was definitely fashioned from parts scavenged from an old 2CV. Emile, wherever you are, we take our hats off to your real-life MacGyver skills, sir.
