A buddy of mine has a Venture and always complained that his trunk lid did not open all the way. He would either have to hold it open or let it rest on the half way open lock feature. Anyway, when I got my Venture he was with me and one of the first things he looked at was my trunk lid. It opened all the way, stayed up and let to close it, of course you have that double action you have to do to close it. Anyway, last week, after only having the bike for 3 weeks or so, mine started doing the same thing. Is this a common problem? Is there a fix for it other than removing the arm? That is what he ended up doing. I don't really want to do that. Thanks Greg

Well this has been going on for a month or so. My onboard computer that shows the checklist when you start the bike up goes on and off on me when am I am riding which causes the bike not to show the temp guage,if it's charging,how much gas,no blinkers,no brake lights,and no dash lights. It has never done this before and the only thing we did is Dana resodered the indicator module for the cold broken soder spots. Deacon Dan has the same 86 venture as mine and his has the same problem his checklist comes up but not all the time his also goes on and off. To add more his fuse box is real hot to the touch. I got the spare module from Dana and put it on mine and it never cut off but it gave a false reading on the gas amount and the gas picture would stay up. I just think it's wierd that the 2 bikes have the same problem. Oh yeah then I put the one that we got from Dana that I had put in my bike to test and it had the same problem it had in mine false gas reading and gas light staying on. Also the computer would come on and go through the check list but would come off and on when it felt like it. So does anyone know or have an idea whats going on with 2 bikes having the same issues to the panel cutting on and off for no apparent reason? Myself,Dana and Deacon Dan are lost we think it might be the control module not sure whats it is called but does the checkup on the items when you turn the bike on. I was thinking that might be it but why does both cut off and on for no reason. Any ideas or if you selling a comp module well 2 of them let me know. Meatloaf:sick:

As part of the tear down on looking for the engine rattle, I found an o-ring that was broken and looked like a worm sticking out. I mentioned this in my post and Squeeze was nice enough to post some very interesting information that was taken from a V-Max site, but the 1st gen Venture was mentioned a lot. Mine was just like in the pictures, except mine was not bulged out, but broken. There is a lot of information about the cause of this, such as the design, not warming the bike good before reaching RPM's above 3000 and running oil that is too thick. Hi, Has anyone lowered a standard venture? If so by how much? I would like to lower mine by about 1-1/2" to 2" ( short legs). Thanks, Mel carco@ptd.net

i would like to SEE the difference, between a stock fork brace and a SUPERBRACE, if anyone has pictures of the two. i really don't know what mine is, other than that it fits an '86. any pics, will be greatly appreciated. just jt -
Hi All, I have a luggage rack on my 04 Venture. Problem is the acorn nuts that secure it are scratching the crap out of our (mine and wife's) helmets. Anyone know how to stop this or fix it? Thanks, Doc_R

I am a new guy, just bought a nice 99 Venture and was reading on this site about the lower plastic vents breaking. Well today mine broke off at the metal bracket! For no apparent reason. Hope to get it welded back together.

Okay, so after only 6 months I've finally given in to the wife and bought a new helmet so I can hook up MY headset. Her's works fine, but I can't get mine to x-mit. I'm fairly sure it's going to be something little I'm missing, but I need HELP!
