I read the tech advisory from Freebird (thanks buddy) on how to install the Yamaha spoiler with brake light......but am confused about the wiring. Freebird show directions on where to connect THREE wires....mine only has two: red and black. Does this mean a) mine isn't genuine Yamaha (does someone else make one?) ...or b) I lost a wire somewhere? If I am resigned to having/using only two wires, can anyone advise which "jacks" they should be plugged into to provide either "on when running" or "on when braking" or both? Thanks, guys! Just bought hitch,higher backrest & ignition power box from fib 78 . Fits great and looks great!. Hope to be able to use it this week to see how the new bike pulls my trailer. Hope backrest helps wife's back and sore legs or if not yet we will hopefully be going back to a Venture(1st OR 2nd) not sure but won't be this year.Have to wait and see how the economy gets and how mine and the wife's jobs hold out.

This weekend I discovered the rubber gourmet had wore out and let the screw pull through. The battery cover (or fake gas tank cover) flipped up and hit me in the face. This is Not a good thing going down the highway at 75 mph. Luckily I caught mine and got stopped with no danage. Make sure you check this and add a washer to prevent this from happening to you. I added a dime size washer tio mine to keep it down at high speeds..... Here the pics. 1 pic is the rubber gourmet 2 pic is the washer added to the screw 3 pic is everything put together. 4 pic is closer shot of everything.

Has anyone cut down their windshield? How did it work out?I would like to shorten mine by 4 inches,any suggestions or advise ? Thanks... -
I purchased a Morgan Carbtune last year. Great tool! I used to have to do my XS1100 often but was using a set of mercury gages. If someone needs help locally to sync their carbs maybe I can help. I've done mine a couple of times without a tach but I'll be ordering one soon so as not to be guessing at proper rpms. Dave Irwin, PA

I just saw what the guy on ebay sold the last set of his diaphragms ( you know the ones he can only get one set at a time) for $147.00 . all i can say is someone wanted them pretty bad to pay that price when you can get them for $89.00 from sci at reg. price. i will wait until there back in stock and get mine at the venturerider price . I just can't belive people don't know that they are paying two to three times what it cost new.

Hello everyone, I am new here. My name is Amy, and I own a 2007 RSTD, and my hubby (Jerry) owns a 2008 RSTD. I am only 5'1" and hubby is 6'7". I need to lower my bike. I have already lowered my rear end, and am going to be lowering my front. I need to know if there is any new side stands I can order or if I need to have mine modified. Also if I need to modify how much should be taken off? I would appreciate any help I can get. Thank you. Amy -
Does anybody have a horn cover laying around that will fit my 89? A needy person helped themselves to one of mine while the bike was parked this weekend.

Anyone got a CB for a 1st gen. they would part with? Squelch pot on mine is shot so I can either listen to CB or radio but not both at the same time.

Hello everybody, The weather here in Pa. seems to be colder longer that I'd like it to be. However, my question is, how many of you who live in a cold climate, start your bike up once or twice a month and let it warm up? Is this ok to do? I don't have a battery tender on it so I have been starting it up every once in a while. Buddy of mine says it will rust my pipes from the condensation. He suggests I leave it alone, that I might be doing more harm that good. I'm talking about an 08 Venture. What do you guys think? Thanks

just wondering if any of you guys have had to buy paint for a newer rsv-06- my bike had been dropped when i bought it last year and i have been everywhere looking for paint,even the local yamaha doesn't have a clue,i think they call mine very dark red met. but i can't find a code so???? any help -thanks

Hello All, I have a medium clear view sheild tinted and vented. Looking for a large as I am 6'7" and catching a little to much wind. Anyone have that they are selling? Mine is for sale used 1 year no scratches perfect shape.

I was wondering if anyone makes an adapter for the passengers headset that they can plug in there own music and listen to it but still have the abillity to communicate with the driver. My wifes taste in music and mine different and she doesn't want to listen to mine and vis versa.

fit on 99 venture? or do i need to buy the whole turn signal? :confused24:also i know i've seen a stock yamaha with a clear tail light lens, but i can't put my finger on which one or if it is the shape as the ventures. does anyone know about these or better yet have one already done with pics? looking to change mine up a little while i'm waiting for the white stuff to melt!!!!! thanks for any help. big mike -
