I think I'm in dire need of a new stator. Can someone point me in the right direction. I know some time ago, there was talk of a beefed up stator on the market, but cannot find the thread. My current output is 12.57 volts, but I cannot live on the battery alone for long. Joe (Saddle_Bag)

Any one ever think of trying to put a peltier junction in a helmet for cooling? Or maybe put one (or more) in a vest? I know they are rigid and won't comform to any radius but I found some that are only 40mm sq. Sounds like a good size to put top center of a helmet. Ones on market now are pretty low current draw compared to ones I played with several years ago.

I am contemplating parting with my 2004 RSV. I see there are two equally beautiful '04's listed in the classifieds and I'm not sure if I want to post it there yet. A guy at work just sold his V-Star and told me today he's looking for a bike like mine. I told him I would post on here and see if anyone has one for sale. I know sometimes I see what I think are bargains posted on here, but I haven't been in the market, so I don't usually pay much attention. Just so you'll know, we are in East TN. and he's looking for a bargain.

Yesterday, and they had a consigned 2006 xv1900 Stradoliner sitting on the floor with tons of add-on$. What a beast...., but I like it. I think the owner had to have been smoking something when he...or she?... congered up the asking price of $18,500. Did a little research on them and the price was way over the market. Does anybody own one, or have ridden one maybe?? With 1900 cc's I wonder what the MPG would be??

OK, who knows all about Visco Elastic Polymer, Padding material. ???? I found its being used for Race Car Seats, supposed to be comfortable !! Anybody know the details on the this stuff ?? From what I have been able to find it came on the market about 3 years ago. Supposed to be the Cats Meow, for comfortable seating ??

Anyone make your own flag pole holder for the trunk rack? This would be for the small flags like around 6" x 10". Share your ideas. I am looking at them, but I am a cheapskate and don't like to spend the $$ for the ones out on the market. Also there is at least one that I know of (maybe Kuryakyn) that a friend of mine has. Everytime he rides it doesn't stay in place

Whats faster then a first gen? Meaner then the dragon? Even makes WV twisties look mild. Not many survivors on this one. Anybody rode Wall Street lately? Retirement public pensions and private IRA's are down by 2 trillion over the last year and that data was before this weeks slide. My nest egg is down by 40 % since Oct of 07. Some economist are saying if you need your money in the next 5 years to take it out. If not ride it out. My thinking is it's to late to roll it and the bottom to this market may be long and flat. I was planning on being debt free in ten years and retiring with a new house. Now it's move on to plan B. Not sure what that is but I'll think of something. I feel sorry for the guys nearing retirement age. Plan C is to become a Walmart greeter. I'm still doing alot of work for my Oil field and energy clients I wonder how long their boom will last.

I was just looking at some of the pics and saw PitBulls 83. Sure did like the pipes on it, was wondering if anyone knew who made them and if they are still on the market. I still have the stock pipes on my 83 and would like to get some I can hear.

Hello everyone.......first let me say this sight is the greatest! I just purchased a 2008 Venture and after getting used to the weight...it's the best bike I have ever owned. I must be lucky cause I don't have the I-basket problem I've read so much about. My question today is about driving lights. Who makes a good after market unit? Or do I have to go with OEM? Are they difficult to install? Maybe it's best to have the dealer do the whole thing. What do you think? Thanks

Crazy man the market is crazy. So what is a low mileage first gen 84 model worth? There is 3 answers to that question. 1. Book value would say around $1200 2. Market value ( what people are paying ) is something else. I watched one sell on Ebay last weekend for $3850.00 and bidders fought over it to the end. 3. Personal value. Maybe your scoot has been a faithful friend and it's current value to you is Priceless. No matter which category your thinking falls under one thing is for sure. There bringing twice the price of just a few years ago.:mo money:

Dose any one have a mirror base from a broken right hand mirror for a 1Gen 83 or one that would fit. I want to tap it and see if I could put after market mirrors on them the OEM ones are so high. Dale

I have a 96 royal Star, it has been sitting for abut 2 years, I changed the oil and rad. fluid. Went over the bike, everything is tight and works properly. What else should I do? I noticed that my petcock is leaking, does anyone make an after market one for it? Thanks -
I GOT TO TEST RIDE A RAIDER FRIDAY WITH AFTER MARKET PIPES AND .......WOW! THE TOURQE ON THIS MONSTER IS UNREAL. IT BROKE LOOSE IN 2nd AND RODE LIKE A DREAM. ANYONE IN THE MARKET FOR THIS STYLE BIKE WOULD NOT BE DISAPOINTED. I HAVE RIDEN BIG DOGS AND IRON HORSE AND THE RAIDER PUTS THEM TO SHAM WITH BOTH COMFORT AND POWER NOT TO MENTION $$$$$$$$$.

Made the move in one piece. The wife and I successfully made the move from Del Rio Texas to Dover, DE our new home port for awhile I hope. We are staying on base while we close on a house in Harrington, which is just down the road a few miles. This place is like many others in the country, it’s a buyers market. We purchased a 7 year old 2300 sq/ft home on 1 acre for 230k. The original asking price was 302,999.00 but the house sat on the market for 293 days with no lookers. It’s a beautiful home but there’s just not that many people buying now. We looked at about 7 other homes that were originally 300k+ that had been reduced over time by at least 50k. All of the houses we looked at in this price range were beautiful homes in fairly new developments. None were older then 11 years, it’s a bad time to be selling in some areas but a great time to be buying in those area’s. The owners were so happy just to have an offer they never even came back with a counter offer. I fell sorry for the people that have to sell in this market, but it worked out for me because normally I could not afford a 300k house. And I can’t believe the taxes in DE, the taxes on the house we just bought were $1.302.00 in 2007, man I was paying almost 5k on a 210k home in Texas and almost 6k on the house in Illinois. We are hoping to close in about 10 days at least that’s what the realtor is saying. I hope so because my bike is outside with only a cover for protection, at least it’s on the Air Base so security is good, but the first thing I do before bed is make sure it’s still there and it’s the first thing I do in the morning. I will have to update my email address when we are in the house and hooked to high speed. I’m using dial up now and man I must be spoiled because the speed is like a first gen....SLOW!

Is Yamaha the only place to buy the chrome outside saddle bag guards or is there another site I cannot find that also has them? I have searched but can't seem to find anything else. I'd be content with an after market set or a descent used set vs. paying $215 from a dealer. Am I cheap? Yep! Thanks:whistling:

Can anyone tell me an easy or is there something tricky about changing handlebar grips on an 06 Venture. I would like to put on after market but can't get the originals off. Any ideas would be appreciated - Thanks Ray

Dunlop has a part number for MR 90-18, but no one seems to carry them. Probably think they can't sell them. Is there a market for them??

I just put a nice set of Samson Shogun turn out slip on mufflers on my bike and I need help getting the carbs adjusted. The dealer says they can't do it because it has after market exhaust on it and the new California EPA law does not allow them to adjust or re-jet my bike. Anyone have a Tech Session going on in Southern California near San Bernardino?
