The hubby put a new battery in the 05 Venture and now our head sets don't work.....I tried finding a thread about the subjet but didn't find anything....anyway, the hubby has been swamped and hasn't had time to read the manual. My question is...when you change the battery, does he need to reset the radio/speakers/etc? and if so is it easy? Thanks Deb

Can anyone steer me in the right direction,I need a new service manual for my 1985 Venture. It as cone missing over the winter ,and there are no signs of it. All so Iam thinking of changeing out my antifreeze with something better.Like Royal Purple,or some other product that will help keep things a little cooler. Ant suggestions would be appreciated.And last what is the total amount of antifreeze in the bike system... Thank you Stan

OK, so it's not Venture related, and a shot in the dark... My grandson picked up an '89 Ninja 600 basket, and I wonder if anyone here might know where I could find a downloadable service manual in PFD like we have available here for the Ventures. I tried a search, but couldn't find anything. Any help would be apreciated.

Did I read somewhere that the 2ndGens have a cigarette lighter power plug??? Or was I halucinating again..... I didn't see any reference to one in the owners manual.... but I'm pretty sure I've run across posts about it... Never mind I found it..... Sorry for the dry run...

Hi all hope everybodies fine. Small problem and im sure you guys will help, my second gen aerial parts have gone rusty chrome coming off. I cannot find there part number in the manual to order new part, any help would be wonderful. added a photo you might need to enlarge it to see yello circle around parts. Thanks Dave ( UK )

Hauled daughter's boyfriend's VTX1300 over to my "shop" today. Hasn't been run much for a couple years so am going to service it, get it running, clean it all up and make it purr and look purdy. Anyone know where I can get an electonic copy of a maintenance manual for it? Where the heck is the oil filter on these thangs? After replacing the battery a few days ago, I had to redo my presets on the radio. I know about holding the up or down button to scan up or down to the next station and that is what I normally do. But the other day, I did something, don't know what, that let me manually scroll the dail up to the station I wanted without having to stop at every signal the radio received. Anyone have any idea what I did to put the radio in "manual" mode? I have tried several things but cannot get it to replicate.

When I bought my Venture (used, 1 year old) it didn't come with an owners manual. I've been stewing over it since. Well, I finally found an original owners manual on Ebay for $39 delivered. Probably paid too much but I didn't check and don't care, I have one now - I'm sure the guy had more if anybody needs one. Let me know and I'll look up the link

Anyone know where I can get a maintenance manual for a 2009 V Star 650. My brother just won it in a Raffle for $25. It only had 800 miles. I would like to find a manual for him if possible and I know that if there is a manual for a Yamaha anywhere on the web, someone on this site would know where it is.

I just picked up a 1987 venture royal I live in Spokane my best friend lives in San Diego and wants to take me on a trip to Canada I didnt have a bike that would make the trip. so I went shoping on line I found my venture royal but it was In San Diego my friend checked it out and and I picked it up. how ever Im going to have 4 days to get familure with the bike so I want to pick up an owners manual so I will know somthing about the bike. as I write this down it sounds silly but Ive been riding for 30 yrs.so It will work out

When I 1st got it, I could see icons for restaurants, gas stations, etc...on the map while I was driving. When I called Garmin on my issue, they had me to a hard reset so now all that is gone. Any ideas on how to get them back? Looked at the manual and doesn't seem to help. Thanks.

Below is a link to a site were I put a copy of the 1983-1985 Service manual. This copy of the manual has the pages in it that are missing from many of the other online 83 service manuals. I rearranged PDF to put supplementary chapters to rear of manual, Layout of manual now makes more sense. 1/25/2010 I also put in the back a copy of the wiring diagrams I did for the 83-85's. I have several versions of the 83 Service Manual that I have downloaded and they are all missing some common pages. Pages are only partially scanned and have large black areas on them. There are 10 pages missing or incomplete. I included page 183 below so you can see what I am referring to. Would someone that has a hard copy manual please scan these pages and send them to me. The higher the scan resolution the better. I have the software that I can replace the bad pages and I will post a complete manual. First number is chapter & page number in printed manual, followed by what appears to be detailed on that page. I have been searching everywhere that I can find for this Owners Manual for over a year now with no luck. I have downloaded the PDF for the '83 manual which is a help, but would like the correct manual for my '88 Venture. If anyone still has an Owners Manual for an '88 Venture and would be willing to part with it for a short while, I would be willing to scan it, create a PDF, post the PDF here for all to use, and I will pay the shipping of your manual both ways. I wanted a spare key for travels on my '06 RSMV. A friend said that ACE Hardware had the blanks. I had them cut two keys and both were unable to work the ignition switch. They would operate the trunk and the saddle bags, and turn the ignition from Lock to Off and Off to Lock but would not turn the ignition from Off to On. I went to the dealer who said I might not really want an extra key. The blanks were $46 from Yamaha. I don't remember the Owner's Manual saying anything about a chip in the key, but that much for a key doesn't make sense otherwise. Anyone have the word? Just curious. Mel

Been getting a lot of noise coming from top of engine and a vibration in the bike so I decided to call the bike shop to price a valve adjustment, I almost dropped the phone when he said $550. Looks like I will be getting a repair book and trying it myself over the winter! Any recommendations on a repair manual? Never been into a bike that far but if i have any problems I know where to go to get the answers.... Thanks, Dale

I have a coworker that owns a 98 Goldwing. I was telling him about how I got the shop manual for my Venture from here in .pdf form. He isn't Internet savy, so I told him I would check the net for one for his bike. Before I search the Web, do any of you Goldwing owners already have the .pdf Shop Manual for a 98 Goldwing? craigr

Files Updated on 10/28/2009>> All Audio circuits now on main page, so that all schematics are now just one page. Other minor corrections done to all schematics. Text realigned for easier reading Some Line types changed for easier reading. Gary I have completed the 1st Generation schematics. My goal in doing this is to make them easier to read and reduce the number of pages needed to display the information. I have used color and line types to make the wiring easier to follow. In some cases I could not use the exact color that is being represented due to visibility and printing issues. For example yellow is hard to see on the screen and does not print well. The previous posting for the 1983-1985 models have been replaced by what is included with this post. The 1983 differs significantly from the 1984-1985 models in the areas of Flasher, Hazard, Starting Circuit Cut-Out Relays, the Hazard Switch, Canceling Unit & Diode Pack. The files for the 86-89 models that were previously posted have been revised slightly and are now at Revision B. Major corrections done included coils were numbered incorrectly in Simplified Circuit & the Flasher Relay Assembly has been updated to include flasher information. The 1990 major changes from the 1986-1989 models were the TCI, coil pick-up & fuel pump control. This post supersedes all previous posts I have done in regards to the 1st gen wiring diagrams. All 1st gen's are included in this post. The files will look best when plotted at 11" x 17" size or larger. Office Max and Staples as well as others can do this for you for a minimal charge if you want a printout.
