Hey folks, I got an 84 that came back from the shop today with carbs fixed. But now the steering berings are bad. I have decided to sell the bike as is or for parts. I have stripped the luggage off and started to prime for paint. The side fairings are off as well. The lower fairings are damaged. The front fairings (with some wear) are intact and on the bike. This bike now runs great and is mechanically sound but I can't afford to put any more into it. I was going to paint it but even that decision has changed. I will take offers for the bike as is and then if I don't get any for the bike I will start to part it out. It would be a great bike for someone who is mechaincally inclined and could do the work. I am not and don't have the patience or time. Please reply to this post or call me at 812-661-0108 and lets talk. I would love for somebody in this group to get her before I go EBAY. Derek

We recently had to put down our horse due to advanced age. Wasn't sure if my wife would want another for awhile but we got a call from the New York Thoroughbred Rescue Association. They adopt out Thoroughbred horses whose careers are over and try to find them new homes. Well...him and Sam met and it was love at first sight. We picked him up last week and he's now settled in at his new home. He's a really sweet horse with few of the issues associated with the breed and he has great blood lines...here are some pics of his 'homecoming..... He's a little thin, but nothing we can't fix....

I picked this little bike up last week from a garage sale for $50.00, It has not ran for over 13 years. I changed the Oil, Plug and cleaned the tank out a bit. Got a new battery and cleaned the carb. and what do you know. she fired right up. My Question is when a bike sits that long is it normal for it to smoke for a while out of the muffler? (think i got a bad ring?) Valves?) My wife and I love going on the back roads here in Iowa but haven't since we bought the RSV.. I just don't like being on gravel roads with the much wight under me. Thanks, Jeff

Hello all I'm from Kokomo IN. I ride a 04 Volusia and I am a member of the VolusiaRiders. I know that there are a few member here from over there. I'm not in the market for a RSD but a friend of mine is and he asked me if I could find out some info for him. I would love to have a Venture, but just can't swing one right now. My question is what's different between a 06 RSD and a 07 RSD? Is there anything different at all except for color options? Thanks

Hi. New guest here. I've only owned this bike a few weeks (great machine) and the sidestand switch failed leaving me without power at 70+ in the fastlane of the local freeway loop in rush hour.... My vision is squat in low-light conditions but once home (and without thinking) I started hunting for the relay for the sidestand switch and managed to short something (there was a spark) while moving the forward fuse block (with the newer fuses - not the fuse block on top of the battery). I have a '91 Venture and believe me I'd love some advice on just what could be wrong, tracing the problem down, etc. I've got a volt-ohm meter and have checked the battery, fuses, fuse block connections and ground points. So far nothing. I've checked for voltage in lines that should not have it according to the wiring diagram in my service manual and again have found none thus far. As the switch has no effect (no idiot or instrument lights - nothing works) I am assuming at this point the problem is in the hot lead to the switch or the control unit (ughhh) hhheeelllllp thanks to all Positive feedback - I love this machine. Mine has a lot of miles but runs great and pulls hard. I've thoroughly enjoyed it thus far. indy

Hi Gang, Just a quick question, I did read the post and saw the illustration on rejetting in the Tech Section but I wanted to know if anyone has done this on a 06 RSTD. Actually to that point what other Mods can be done to this bike. I love the size and look of this bike, I added the Baron Bag slashes. I like the sound but think the pipes are constructed somewhat cheap. I also get popping, and done all the reccomended things but to rejet and open the airbox a little. I love the bike, I just want to make it the best it can be. Any help would be great!!! Pedro

Really I love to enhance features & keep my bike on good shape. But really to get parts from responsable sources looks to be impossible. A year ago I got a wiring cabling from a 1986 VR, toghether with their fairing and structure in order to prepare to migrate it due to the headlight problem on the 83-85s with low visibility. This year I spent a lot trying to get as original as I can with an original CB radio, rider handle control and another accesories. Full FIASCO!!! CB doesn't work, CLASS reports E-4, and plastic broken. Good thing is as Electronic Engineer, I will go through this, but the only idea to re-ensamble everything back, put the OEM CB back not connected yet to the Amplifier, until I can go through this really make me seek, overall when I wast a full weekend putting all the pieces togheter. I start to believe that cheaper & better should be install a J&M system, and forget everything else. Even trying to get the 6 pin cable wiring was a PITA!!! (pain in the a...) Thanks a lot to all the supposed salers of tested parts.

I thank you all my friends on Venturerider.org. I sit here totally numb right now, I have just lost the love of my life. Debbie passed away during the night. It was totally unexpected. I don't know what to do. I have family with me and that helps, but the loss is already so bad I can't imagine it getting worse. Many of you knew her and she was glad to know you as friends, a couple that deserve special mention are Cinderella, Jane (Boo's wife), Sweet Nothing and Linda Predock. Even if she didn't always keep in touch, she had a special place in her heart for you. I'm sure there are others but I'm kind of spacey right now. I may not respond here but know that I will be harvesting the love and care that you send our way in this time of sadness. Thanks for being here for her and me.
